2022 Project 10 Pan

Well, I decided on another project pan. This one is not makeup focused, but it is beauty focused. I decided to add lifestyle items, body care, skin are, and hair care items. I decided to go with 10 items. It will not be a rolling project pan, but if I get down to just a couple of items, I might just start a new 10 pan either keeping those items in or taking those items out. I really haven’t decided. I am playing it fast and loose with this one. So, let’s get into the meat of this post and see what we are working with.

The above photo has all of the progress lines clearly visible. This photo is just to show you where I am at with all of these products.

From left to right, I will let you know what every product is, why I chose it, and how long I think it will take me to finish it up. I have a seasonal B&BW candle from Christmas that I have burnt once in Frosted Cranberry. I want to use this one up before the season is up. I think this will take me a month tbh. I burn a lot of candles when I work from home. The second item is a toner spray that I don’t think is necessary in my routine. I like using a toner with a cotton pad instead that helps to remove impurities. It will probably take 3 to 4 months to use this one up.

Next, I have that body serum that I need to be motivated to use up as I love it and I try to hoard it. It probably has a month or two of use left simply because I need to combat my mental mindset of saving it for special occasions. I need the last little bit of motivation to use up the last two products. The room spray is very light and I am into a more fragrant one. The Aveeno face wash is getting old and I usually use it on my brushes. Both will probably take me 2 to 3 months to use up.

Here are the other 5 items of my project pan that doesn’t require markings. I want to use up the Amika Foam Dry Shampoo within 6 months. It is subpar compared to the Perk It Up Dry Shampoo. You really have to saturate your hair with this to see results. I need motivation to use up my BumBum cream, because I have a problem with not wanting to use the things that I love up. It will take probably a month to use up. I am pushing myself to use up more hair care products this year, so I want to finish up this hydrating gel cream when my hair is feeling dry. This should take a month to use up as well. The last two will be done by the end of January for sure as they are one time use products. The nose strip and the hand mask will be simple to use. I have SOOOO many sheet masks, because I don’t take time for myself. This will give me a push to do so.

What are you working on this year? Do you have a tendency to not want to use up your favorite products as well? Leave a comment. 🙂

NYE Resolutions

I decided to make New Years resolutions this year. I made these on New Years Eve, which I think is very appropriate. I have big goals and big ambitions this year. I do not think this is a bad thing at all and I know that I will not get around to all of these things this year. It is good to have dreams and aspirations in life though. In a way, it is kinda like a project pan. Having goals motivates you to reach them, but you have to have the mindset that you don’t have to reach all of them to be successful.

Here are my goals for 2022:

  1. Rediscover myself
  2. Increase my independence/sense of self/individualism
  3. Get an apartment
  4. Get engaged
  5. Start wedding planning
  6. Take better care of myself:
    • Continue therapy
    • Continue seeing a psychiatrist
    • Bathe regularly (depression sucks)
    • Get back into a regular day/night skincare routine
    • Wear makeup 3x a week at least
    • Start exercising regularly
    • Continue eating a healthy diet
  7. Take Dean out on more outings
  8. Create more family adventures
  9. Take more pictures
  10. Reinvest in my blogging schedule
  11. Pursue a passion (I’m getting 2 Herbology diplomas this year to be a Herbologist!)
  12. Start Youtube channel
  13. Get a raise/promotion
  14. Go on vacation
  15. Always focus on being happy and present
  16. Continue to support and love my children
  17. Be more sociable (I’m going to our company’s rescheduled Christmas party)
  18. Take more time for myself
  19. Read 12 books

I am thinking about doing monthly check-ins on my goals to monitor my progress and to keep myself accountable. What does everyone else have for New Year’s resolutions? I’d love to hear them!

Project Pan FINALE: December 2021

With hitting these 3 pans, I was able to reach my goal for 2021 of using up 21 makeup related items. I am so proud of myself, because I didn’t think that it would have been possible for me with how everything was last year. This year, I am going to be focusing on older products in my collection and my newer products to see if I want to keep them around. I have high confidence for 2022, but I also recognize the challenge ahead of me. I am thinking about making a beauty project pan as well. A 10 item project to go along with this one that will not be rotating. Once all of the items are used up, a new set of 10 will be chosen until the year is out. I am really enjoying panning at the moment. 🙂

January Makeup Rotation

I am back with another makeup rotation post. If you don’t know what a makeup rotation is, every month (minus project pan items) I choose a makeup in my collection to use for the month. At the start of the new month, every item goes back into the collection, minus project pan items. Spoiler alert, I actually decluttered two makeup items in my collection after the December makeup rotation. There ended up being 2 items that I didn’t like: one was new to me and the other used to be an old favorite. I am seeing the importance of doing these rotations as I am bringing new items in due to Boxycharm that I should give a dedicated try and old items in my collection might not be my taste anymore. If it gets me to tailor my collection to just favorites, I’m happy.

Like I said previously, I kept all of my project pan items. SPOILER ALERT, I haven’t used some of these items like I should have, because I came down with Covid. I stopped using makeup on Jan 1st and I haven’t touched anything since. This is why some items don’t look too used. I decided to keep in my mascara (for the usual reason), the Naked Skin Highlighter, the eye shadow, the brow gel, the “natural” foundation, and the concealer or foundation duo by Marc Jacobs. These are items that I wanted to use more or that I am still enjoying or that I only have 1 kind of. I am excited about using the eye glitter, eye glitter base, and the duo liner from my recent Valentino box. I decided to add a eye shadow palette. I want to try out the Violet Voss some more and finally decide how I feel about it. It is currently, meh, in my opinion.

1K Declutter: December 2021 Finale

The last post for this series for the year 2021. I cannot believe how fast this year past me by. It dragged for a few months during the year, but once college was done, every day just flew. I am living more in the moment now and finding my days more fulfilling by staying present. Once I stopped concentrating or looking in the future at the next thing, I found myself happier. I highly recommend taking things day by day. At the end of everyday, I make sure to mentally go over my day and appreciate what I got done. Well, after that tangent, let’s get into it!

#884 – I finished a 6 month Daily Duo planner from Erin Condren. I use a shit ton of stickers, so it got pretty THICK.

#885 – 887 – The boots can be handed down or donated as they are in good condition. Dean just grew out of them. The other two are worn out clothes.

#888 – We used up a body scrub. My boyfriend is a fan of mocha. I didn’t mind the scent, but I have a honey scrub open now for myself and I am loving it.

#889 – 910 – I decluttered these translucent sticky notes, because you can only use sharpie on them. I found them pretty useless and they weren’t all that sticky. I used a lot of Cannon Ivy photo sticker paper this month and sticker gift tags.

I came SO CLOSE to finishing the project this year. I have to use up 90 items to complete the project next year. I am going to guess that it will take me 6 months to complete. I will continue these posts until I reach 1K. Then, I think I will take a break for a while and focus on other posts. I have a few ideas in mind of posts and series that I want to post on this blog that is totally new. I do want to have a more consistent blogging schedule. Currently, I want to post once a week. If and when I can be consistent with that, I would like to do 2 to 3 posts a week as a set schedule. I currently do have COVID, so I am not sure if I will meet that goal this month. I’m gonna try though.

Valentino Voxbox

I received a surprising Voxbox from Influenster. I was mailed the Valentino box and when I opened it, I thought it was mistakenly sent to me. It had a card in the box, but no where stated it was from Influenster. I looked on the app and saw that I had the campaign badge for it. I must have gotten the box, before the notifications went out. I did get the notification via email a couple of days after it came in. Let’s get the disclaimer out of the way. I received this for free via Influenster for reviewing and testing purposes. All opinions are my own. I was sent free products in exchange for an honest review.

This box has me feeling so fancy. I have one Dior product that I also got from Influenster and they just make me feel like a fancy person, even if I’m the only one that knows that I’m wearing it. Luxury makeup and skin care give me such a confidence boost. I would never purchase them outright though. The sale would have to be VERY good like the Farsali that I have purchased for $9 full size.

Valentino Twin Liner 02 Black & Rosso, 0.5ml & 0.1g, $40

The black liquid liner is very opaque and there is not much bleeding. It was really easy to use, but I am terrible about using a liquid liner. The red/orange/pink liner is very creamy and glided easily on the lid. It was also good in the waterline.

Valentino Stick With Me Glitter Primer Base, 10ml for $25

It was a nice base. It kept the glitter on my eyes. I really have nothing else to say about it, because I don’t have any experience with glitter primers. I never used one before this even though I wear a lot of glitter. I am going to use it with the other glitters that I have to see if the performance is clear across the board.

Valentino DreamDust Eye Glitter in SkyDust, 3.1g for $32

This eye glitter is so gorgeous! I love it. I love the color. I love everything about it! This is the item I am most excited for. I am so happy to have this in my collection. I won’t say that it will be used up by the end of this year, but I wouldn’t be surprised either. I’ve been wearing this a lot.

Valentino Eye2Cheek Blush in Bright Dream, 3.6 g for $58

This doesn’t look like a blush shade to me. It looks more like a highlight. I am not sure how I feel about it as a blush and it is not pigmented enough for me to wear on my eyes as eye shadow. I know some people like dewy or shinny blush and I think that people who like that would enjoy this. I also think if you want to buy this as a luxury highlighter, this would be a good one as you can build up the pigmentation to a certain degree.

This was a pretty expensive voxbox, so I feel very grateful to have gotten these goodies. I might give the “blush” to a friend, who might have better luck with it.

Boxycharm: December

The theme for the month of December was Gift of Glam and I think that the chosen items didn’t really fit the theme? I did choose one skincare item in my box. I just thought this box was a bit underwhelming. We will use everything, but I expected more based on loving past boxes. We might upgrade to the seasonal box, but I am still on the fence about it. We haven’t had a chance to use any of the items, so this will be first impressions only. Hopefully, I can get the next one up earlier, but no promises! lol

Araceli Beauty Bella Sponge Duo, 2 for $24.00

Makeup sponges are always nice to get as they do expire faster than brushes. I gave this to my boyfriend as I do not like to use sponges and I prefer brushes. They seem soft enough and have that tear drop Beauty Blender shape.

Dito Cosmetics Venus 12 Shade Palette, $29.99

This says it is limited edition; however, you can still buy it on their website. I gave this to my boyfriend as this color story is more up his alley with the reds and the purples. He is excited for it as it swatched beautifully for him.

StudioMakeup HA Rejuvenating Serum, 1fl oz for $45.00

This is nothing earth shattering or ground braking. It is a good serum to have and it will sit in our bin until we have used up one of our serums. It is great for day time and gentle for nighttime use if you are using other, harsher products.

Algenist Triple Algae Eye Renewal Balm, 0.5 fl oz for $68.00

This is a very nice, balmy eye cream. Algenist can easily be found at Marshalls for a good price, so I would look there if you are looking to buy their products. This was our choice for this month as we needed a night time eye cream. We both really like it and a little goes a long way. I think this is the only item in the box that we used so far.

Seraphine Botanicals Luna Liner, 2g for $18.00

It is another black liquid liner. I put it in our back stock until we need a new one open. These are always nice to have on hand. I can’t get too many of these or mascara. I wish they would throw in a colored liner every once in a while. I think that is the 2nd liquid liner that I was sent in 4 to 5 months of this subscription.

This box had a total value of $184.99. I don’t think this is a bad price for this box. The eye cream that I wanted was worth more than what I paid for the box. I call that a win in my book. I will be using 3/5 of the products from this month’s box. I am happy with what we received by it was lackluster.

2022 Project Pan

Happy New Year’s EVE! I am starting the new year off with a bang with a new rolling project pan. I will be posting at the end of every month on the progress of these items. As I use the items up or hit pan on them, I will be rotating a new item in its place. My hope is to use up 22 items, but realistically, I want to use up 12 items this year. That is equated to one makeup product a month. It won’t be contained to just makeup items. I can throw in any type of item. I am focusing mostly on makeup, but I do have 2 items in the project that aren’t makeup products. I will probably always keep 2 items as not makeup related.

The above photo is an overview of my project pan items. I am keeping the number at 7, because I feel like it is not too overwhelming to keep track of. It also frees me to use other makeup in my collection in conjunction with these.

First up is a holographic hair foam by IGK. It really gives a nice blue/purple glimmer to the hair. I enjoy using it and I am actually using it to style my hair for some Christmas parties that are coming up. I don’t know how much is in here due to the nature of the product, but it doesn’t feel like it has more than 2 uses left. I have a glitter stick and a gold glitter hair spray, so I thought that I would use my oldest specialty item up first. I really love this stuff and it smells amazing. The only con is that you need to use a lot for any type of color payoff even on my silver/white blonde hair.

I hit major pan on my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Powder. This is it repressed. I am going to use this powder up. I do have 2 other loose powders to use up after this. I will be purchasing this again. It is my favorite setting powder. I love the way it blurs my skin. I probably have a month or 2 of use left out of this compact.

This is my most ambitious goal for the project. I want to completely use up this powder bronzer. I sweep it on almost everyday, even on no makeup days. It is super pretty, but if I am wearing bronzer, I don’t want a shimmery one. So, I want to enjoy it and get it out of my collection. I have been pairing it with the PIXI liquid blush gel in sunkissed and together, they give the best sunkissed look. I will be sad when I use up the blush and need to find a new combo to pair this with.

I am about halfway through the sunscreen and it expires in March. I want to use as much of it as humanly possible until then. I hope I use it up, but if not, it will still be gone in March. I don’t really like this sunscreen. It is definitely not matte.

The BECCA primer is ALMOST done. It might be a gimmie product, but it will give me a positive push in this project pan. I also have a SERIOUS issue about using the last of something up, so adding it to the project really gives me the push that I need to use it up, FINALLY. lol.

Also from Coola, I think I have a third of this setting spray left. Again, it has SPF that is expiring in 2022, so I am making it a priority to use up. I have like 3 other setting sprays and I wouldn’t purchase this one again. I had a tendency of choking on the spray. I also am not a big fan of the smell of sunscreen. It made my face a bit sticky for a bit as well.

This is the oldest product in my collection by far is my 2016 Hourglass palette that honestly, is overhyped. My goal was to hit pan on one of the shades until I realized something in the photo below.

I have already hit baby ban on 3 shades in the palette. I want to hit pan on the other blush and the highlight. I also want to use up one of the shades in this palette. I think these are pretty great goals for this one. I am hoping to finish the whole thing by the end of the year, but we shall see.

Those are the products starting off my project pan in 2022. What are you planning to pan? Are you doing a project pan? I’d love to follow your journey, so drop a comment if you are doing a project pan.

1K Declutter: November

Another month gone, another long over due declutter. The December one will hopefully get posted sooner than November did. It was a good solid month, but I know that I won’t hit my 1K by the end of the year. We are going to keep this series going until we do. The past two months have been a whirlwind of positive change and I have been enjoying every minute of it. But this is long overdo, so let’s get into it.

#856 & 857 – I loved the brightening shampoo for my blonde hair, but I think it gave a brassier tone than I had in my hair over time. The hair oil was really gross and made my hair feel really dry. I would not purchase again.

#858 & 859 – The foundation is going to a friend as it is even too light for my boyfriend to use. I used up the Hourglass stick foundation sample.

#860 – 867 – Clothes that are too small, too big, and no longer any good.

#868 – 874 – Used up sticker sheets.

#875 – 878 – We managed to use up two additional sunscreens. I’ve been putting them on my arms while driving and that’s how they were used up. The glitter sunscreen I did apply to my whole body for the glitter effect. I used up a VS body wash and it was nice. I used up the Moroccan oil body serum and that was heaven. I love the scent!

#879 – 882 – I used up a VS sheet mask and it was like any old sheet mask. I used up two face cream samples. We also used up the Too Faced serum and I absolutely love it! However, we are currently drowning in serum, so I will not buy it right away. It is on the radar though!

#883 – This candle didn’t have the best scent or burn very evenly. I did use it up as I do enjoy candles. This scent just wasn’t my favorite.

Well, only 117 items to go before we get to 1K. Maybe we will hit this goal by Feb or March if we want to be ambitious. lol.

December Makeup Rotation

I am going to be a doing a monthly makeup rotation to make sure that I am giving all of the items that I own all of the love and attention they deserve. Some of these items are project pan items that will be listed in another post. I enjoy all of these products and I just want to use them. I keep all of my lip products out at all times, because I use them regularly and I don’t have many of them. Everything else in my collection is put away for the most part. In January, I will switch out everything (minus the project pan items) and show you the new lineup. In the Jan update, I will let you know if I hit pan or used anything up (not including project pan items). I am super excited to get a lot of use out of my collection as I do get quite a bit in from Boxycharm when I choose to keep the items. lol. Seriously though, I just want to use and enjoy my makeup.

Happy Christmas Eve Eve!

With Love,
