African Red

For OleHenriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser

cleanser

What it is: A facial cleanser with vitamin C and brightening citrus extracts.

Key Ingredients: water, ascorbic acid, aloe lea juice, borago seed oil, linseed oil, black currant seed oil, carrot seed oil, orange oil, mandarin orange peel oil, grapefruit peel oil, shea butter, aspalathus leaf extract, pumpkin fruit extract, maticaria flower extract, glycerin, limonene.

How it feels/smells/looks: It is yellow in the bottle, but turns into a white foam when you pump it out. It smells like sweet mandarin oranges and feels soft and fluffy when you use it on a damp face. The wetter your skin is, the more the product foams up.

Why I like it: This sample that I bought in a kit lasted forever. It took so long to use it, even though it is about half the size of a full size cleanser. I really enjoyed using this product, but I do not think that I would repurchase it. I didn’t see a difference in my skin and since I don’t have a problem with dull skin, I did not see the brightening effect. I think if you do have a problem with dull skin, that you should give this a try based on all the great ingredients in it. If this was in another kit that I get, I will gladly use it, because I did like it.

Thanks for celebrating the first day of Octoberfest with me! I will be uploading a post everyday this month and some of them will be holiday themed. I am so excited, especially since I might not get to complete 25 days of Christmas blogging due to my pregnancy. I am supposed to give birth on December 18th! So close and yet, so far away.

With Love,

Selena

  1. Only a little over two months now! It really is close. But that’s probably easier for me to say since I’m not carrying the weight of an extra human. He will be here before you know it!!

    1. I’ve gained thirty pounds so far. I exercise for 30 minutes during the week 1 hour on the weekends. It’s amazing how much weight you gain even with a strict walking regimen.

      1. Well, some of the pounds are the baby himself, so really you could take a few away if you want. Lol. (I don’t know what that would be. 4 or 5 at this point?) It has to be frustrating, but once the pregnancy is over it should be easier to lose. I wouldn’t get upset over it though. Some people gain way more! And your body is just doing what it’s supposed to.

      2. Lol. Yep. Tiny little boy with big kicks. Right now, he likes to stick his butt out up against the wall of my stomach and you can actually feel his bony butt. lol

      3. Blue is an excellent color for a baby boy. I get the headaches occasionally, not as much as I used to. I’m just having trouble staying asleep. I toss and turn all night and get up to go pee about 5 times last night. I’m going to buy a couple of toys and wrap them up for Christmas. I cannot believe that this year, might be his first Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, have you thought about your birthday and the type of things you like. I know I said planner things for my birthday. Do you have any things you would like in particular? I need to finish up your present. 🙂

      4. Kohls is a good place for stuffed animals, if those are the kind of things you’re looking for. At the cash register, they have $5 stuffed animals, and companion hardcover books that are $5 as well. I’ve been looking at toys in the baby department but they cost a lot more. As for me, I don’t know! I haven’t given it a ton of thought, even though it’s around 3 weeks away. My first application is due the 15th, and I’ve been focusing mostly on that. I’m pretty close to being done, i just have to request my transcripts and write an essay and it’s ready to go. But a book is always good, or more sheet masks, bath bombs, anything like that really. People have been asking but I don’t know what to tell them!

      5. They really are! I had been looking around in hopes of finding a my first snoopy or something, and no one sells them for less than $15! The regular price for some baby things is ridiculous, especially when you consider how small they are compared to adult clothes. The only way to get a fair deal on clothing is Salvation Army or the clearance rank. Like socks! That’s why I’m making him booties, it’s much cheaper than regular socks.

      6. I figure they’d be warmer than socks, and baby socks are expensive! I was looking and I think it was like $8 for a package! It seems like too much when you can get adult socks for much cheaper!

      7. Lol. I’m sure he will grow into them. I assume that he will be an 8lb to 9lb baby based on my rapid weight gain. I might be having a c-section. My doctor left me a message a few days ago that I need to up my iron intake. I’m taking two iron supplements a day now. My iron levels actually went a tiny bit lower (mostly just stayed the same). One pill isn’t working, so she’s hoping two will. Otherwise, I won’t be able to actually give birth, because I would have an increased chance of bleeding out. I need iron rich blood. I’ve been eating more meat too. I thought I was doing a good job.

      8. That is scary, though both natural birth and c-sections sound scary anyway. Hopefully taking the extra supplements will help. I think spinach is a good source of iron? But I don’t know if you like spinach. Something to keep in mind though.

      9. Yes, it is. I need to find iron rich foods besides red meat. I don’t like red meat all that much. I’m having hamburger and rice tonight though.

      10. Lol. They must. I eat peanut butter. What are you doing? I’m writing up a blog post, then two more before getting off my laptop for the night. Then, I’m going to exercise and watch Youtube videos. Plan out next week and supper.

      11. I just put a laundry load out to dry, then I’m going to write and do my nails. Hopefully finish the book I’m reading and watch tv. Plan dinner in the middle of all of that, and take care of the all of the pets.
