Spring Project Pan: Update

I am super happy with the progress that I have been able to make with all of my products. I will be making progress marks on anything that still has product left in them and if I finished anything up, I will tell you what product(s) I am bringing in to get use out of or play with. I can already say that being able to bring in an item that I really want to use is a HUGE motivator for me to use up what is in my project pan. I decided instead of rotating a new product to pan in, I will just be rotating in whatever I want to use and play with. I thought that maybe I couldn’t do seasonal project pans, but now, I see that I just needed a proper motivator. Choosing just 5 items to pan makes it easy for me to focus on them and move them out, knowing that I can play with a Stila glitter shadow or a new highlighter. Also, 5 items are so reasonable. It is enough to get almost a full look of products, but not too much where I feel overwhelmed by how much I have to use up. I also will ALWAYS make sure to include a “cheat” product that is super easy to pan, so I can get that motivating product to help me go through the rest of my pan items.

That was a long intro, but I am just in a rambly mood today. I also have so many new things in my collection that I am excited to play with everything, but I also have some existing pieces that I am still excited at getting a chance to use during my project pans. I do better with a narrow focus (less items) when it comes to a project pan and flexibility in order to not get bored. Plus, the more I push out/use up, the more items that I can buy and know that I love bringing into my collection.

The above is what we started with in the beginning of this project. Now, that is has been a month and a half, I am ready to give an update on my progress so far. This project wraps up on the first day of Summer, so this will be the only update. I was hopeful to use up 3 or 4 items out of this project by the finale. Let’s see how I’ve done thus far.

DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom Eau De Parfum, 0.5 fl oz FINISHED

Granted, there wasn’t much of this perfume left, but it did last a month of daily use. Sometimes, I also sprayed this before bed as well. This perfume was nice and long lasting. It is also very Spring and not my favorite, so I am happy to have it out of my collection and used up at the appropriate time to use it during the year. I want the Be Delicious Green Apple, but I have to move out a few more perfumes first. It will be my Summer scent. I love the DKNY apple perfumes. They are hands down my favorite with Elizabeth and James, which I want Bourbon for a nice Fall scent. I enjoyed this perfume, but happy that it no longer clutters my vanity.

B&BW Twilight Woods, 0.28 fl oz

This is not the fun replacement that I am replacing my perfume with in this project, but I thought that I would share what perfume I will be wearing until Summer begins. This is a beautiful sweet scent that I love that is long lasting from Bath & Body Works. They no longer make this exact scent. The current Twilight Woods smells nothing like this. I have about 2/3rds of this perfume left. I’m not looking to use it up. I’m just enjoying it until my Summer Project pan scent. This is a scent that I would pan in the Fall.

Too Faced Bronzed Peach Melting Powder Bronzer in Toasted Peach

This is the item that I am having fun with after using up my project pan perfume. It is a super nice glowy bronzer that disappears into my skin. I have never had any bronzer look as natural as this one does on my skin. Too bad they are discontinuing it, because this bronzer is amazing. I apply this bronzer with my finger. I swirl my finger around the bronzer and dot it along my forehead, nose, under my cheek bones, and along the jaw line. I take my ELF Blending Brush and blend it into my skin. It leaves a beautiful sun kissed look that is natural. The shimmer isn’t too much and just gives the skin a glowy look. I have been SO into a glow lately. My skin looks fantastic with a bit of glow rather than the matte face I’ve been doing. This bronzer isn’t orange nor brown. It just melts into my skin. If you want more obvious bronzer, this may not be the right product for you. Oh yeah, and it smells fucking amazing.

MARC JACOBS Sugar Sugar Enamored High Shine Gloss

OMG. I didn’t realize how much of my MARC JACOBS lipgloss I used up until I had to take out the stopper to see a tiny bit left at the bottom of the tube. I will have no problem using up the rest of this before the project is done. I will be so happy to be one lippie next. I would purchase this brand of lip gloss again, just not this color. It is a concealer/sick color on my lips. It was just way too light and not a good color for me. I use this at my desk at home alternating with my favorite lip balm at the moment which is Palmer’s. I find that lip gloss goes pretty fast once you take the stopper out. I will always add a lippie into my project pan, even if I don’t use it up completely. They need attention and I have way too many, but I love it!

MAC PREP N PRIME FIX + In Lavender FINISHED

I knew that this would be an easy win, but I am happy to have it out of my collection still. I am switching to work on my coconut scented one, which will NOT be featured in my next project pan. Based on how long this one lasted, I do not think it will be used up in that amount of time. Plus, I use this every time I do my makeup without fail. I don’t need the extra motivation to use it up. I am keeping it to “Back2MAC” the whole set of three, which counts as one. I need a few more MAC empties to utilize the program. I don’t currently own enough MAC to do it. lol

MAC PREP N PRIME FIX + In Coconut

This is a full bottle. This will not be my fun replacement in the project. I just wanted to show you what I’ll be using to prime my face and add hydration to the skin. I love these, but I do not feel like it is a necessary step. I just bought them when they were on sale for $12 for a set of 3 minis. I would much rather use a regular primer and setting spray at the end to seal in my makeup. I will happily use these up and accept them as gifts. Also, I would grab them again on sale. At full price, they do not have a priority in my skincare nor makeup routine.

STILA GLITTER IN GLOW in Rose Gold Retro

I have a big window in this already and this is my fun replacement. I put the cream eye shadow down as a base and I put this on top. I want to use these up before they dry out on me. I really love them, but they seem to start to dry out fast. I have three pressed glitters in a palette now, so I feel good about using these ones up. They are very beautiful. Once I use up all of my cream eye shadows, I would buy another mini set of these. Ideally, I would like to have a nude cream stick and minis of these after I use up everything in my collection. I might be able to use this up in a month. I would say that I have a third of this left. We shall see. This isn’t something that I wear everyday, but only when I have time to add an extra pop.

PIXI Sheer Cheek Gel in 002 Sun Kissed

I have made a nice dent in this blush. I’m not sure that I can use the whole thing in a month by the finale, but this will be something that I will use up this year. I won’t be rolling this into my summer project, because I actually want to pull in that other cheek gel to try to use up. If I use that one up before the end of the project, I will put this one in there. I love cheek gels in the summer for an effortless look. I kinda love it year round tbh. lol. I just can’t get away with that sunkissed look in the winter, which is when powders come in handy.

Laura Eye Caviar Stick in Bare Nude

I think I finished a 1/3 or a 1/4 of what I started out with. I am unsure if I will finish it in time, but I am very impressed by how much I have used up since I started the project. I have been using this almost every time that I wear makeup and I love how effortless it is to achieve a nude eye look. It is a one and done cream eye shadow, which I do love for quick looks. That being said, you could easily achieve this with a powder eye shadow as well. However, when I use powders, I always use at least 3. I use my base eye shadow or lid shade, crease, and another to darken the outer V. Once I finish all my creams, I would like to pick up a nude one for quick out the door days. Otherwise, I am perfectly happy with my powder eye shadows and creating different looks.

I have used up 2/5 in this project so far and I will for sure use up 1 more item by the end of the project. For me, any used up item is a success in a project pan. I also know that I have been using everything on a consistent basis. I love doing these shorter project pans, because I can rotate through my collection better. It is no surprise that I used up my two easy items. For my Summer project pan, I think I will give myself 1 easy item to have a bit more of a challenge. If you are doing a project, leave a link or comment down below and I’ll go check yours out. I’m enjoying everything and that’s what counts!

With Love,

Selena
