Boxycharm: December

The theme for the month of December was Gift of Glam and I think that the chosen items didn’t really fit the theme? I did choose one skincare item in my box. I just thought this box was a bit underwhelming. We will use everything, but I expected more based on loving past boxes. We might upgrade to the seasonal box, but I am still on the fence about it. We haven’t had a chance to use any of the items, so this will be first impressions only. Hopefully, I can get the next one up earlier, but no promises! lol

Araceli Beauty Bella Sponge Duo, 2 for $24.00

Makeup sponges are always nice to get as they do expire faster than brushes. I gave this to my boyfriend as I do not like to use sponges and I prefer brushes. They seem soft enough and have that tear drop Beauty Blender shape.

Dito Cosmetics Venus 12 Shade Palette, $29.99

This says it is limited edition; however, you can still buy it on their website. I gave this to my boyfriend as this color story is more up his alley with the reds and the purples. He is excited for it as it swatched beautifully for him.

StudioMakeup HA Rejuvenating Serum, 1fl oz for $45.00

This is nothing earth shattering or ground braking. It is a good serum to have and it will sit in our bin until we have used up one of our serums. It is great for day time and gentle for nighttime use if you are using other, harsher products.

Algenist Triple Algae Eye Renewal Balm, 0.5 fl oz for $68.00

This is a very nice, balmy eye cream. Algenist can easily be found at Marshalls for a good price, so I would look there if you are looking to buy their products. This was our choice for this month as we needed a night time eye cream. We both really like it and a little goes a long way. I think this is the only item in the box that we used so far.

Seraphine Botanicals Luna Liner, 2g for $18.00

It is another black liquid liner. I put it in our back stock until we need a new one open. These are always nice to have on hand. I can’t get too many of these or mascara. I wish they would throw in a colored liner every once in a while. I think that is the 2nd liquid liner that I was sent in 4 to 5 months of this subscription.

This box had a total value of $184.99. I don’t think this is a bad price for this box. The eye cream that I wanted was worth more than what I paid for the box. I call that a win in my book. I will be using 3/5 of the products from this month’s box. I am happy with what we received by it was lackluster.

With Love,

    1. I am as well. I also have a few friends. I also put aside brand new sealed stuff that I know we won’t use towards a women’s shelter. They only take sealed products, so if we both know, we won’t open it or swatch it. If we want to try, we will then give to friends if it isn’t for us.

  1. I’m still waiting on my December box- I signed up late. It literally is so hit or miss but I’ve definitely gotten some good finds! Is this the base box or the second tier box?

      1. I am just waiting until after the move in the Spring/Summer to upgrade, so we have the space. Due to Covid, we have to move in with relatives (The Landlord sold his house in Cali and wanted to move into our unit as he got furloughed and the property we lived at was paid off).

      2. Oh jeeze, I’m sorry to hear that- what an inconvenience! Covid has just messed everything up, so over it! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ hope you are able to find your own space soon! 😘

      3. LOL. Thank you and I know. I’m currently positive with Covid. I’m on steriods and antibiotics. I’m feeling alright. I’m vaccinated, but it really doesn’t matter at the end of the day when you have asthma. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I had a good 2 year run staying covid free with mask wearing and handwashing.

      4. Oh my Gosh I am so sorry to hear that! I have no idea how my husband and I have come out unscathed this whole time- we are vaccinated too, but since we work in healthcare we were amongst the first people to get vaccinated last year in December. I haven’t gotten the booster yet either. Having underlying conditions such as asthma it really does put you at a higher risk! Get your rest, take care of yourself and be strong! You can beat this virus πŸ’ͺβ™₯️!!!

      5. Thank you for your encouraging words! πŸ™ I’m happy to hear you guys are doing well, especially considering your profession. My mom and my bfs aunt are both nurses. Thank you for all that you do and the sacrifices that you have had to make. You are appreciated beyond words. Thank you for your service!

      6. You are so sweet πŸ₯² I’m so sorry I’m responding to this ten million years later! I’m all over the place with work, blogging, whatever is going on with my health currently at any given time I feel like I could just fall asleep 😴!
