Blendjet Lisa Frank Design

My cousin Mel peer-pressured me into getting this blender, and I absolutely love it. I have been getting into making protein and immune-boosting smoothies lately for in the morning as a breakfast substitute. I was getting tired of bringing out the big blender as it was so loud and such a pain to clean. Mel suggested this blender because she uses it too. We both agreed on the Lisa Frank one as it is very “me” to those that truly know me and the style that I like. It is super portable, lightweight, and fits 16 oz, and the best part is it is self-cleaning with just a drop of soap with some water. It is perfect for the mornings as it isn’t as loud, so it doesn’t wake up my son. There is so much to love about it, and it is one of my regularly used kitchen appliances.

I also use fresh fruits and veggies, not just frozen or pre-packaged frozen mixes. I am dairy sensitive, so I use oat milk in my smoothies. I am so in love with oat milk. I find that the brand I buy mirrors milk really well without the heaviness. It matches the flavor nicely. I love it in my coffee and cereal as well. I use it for anything that calls for dairy or cream within reason.

Hum

So, I just got the notification that my 2nd month of my 3 month subscription has shipped. I thought that I would get to this post already. I am concentrating on a healthier me this year and a truer me. I am focusing on health, fitness, and exploration. I’m buying supplements, working out more (I laxed last year), and exploring different interests/clothes/makeup than I have before. HUM is a very affordable supplement brand and I stumbled across them while looking for melatonin tabs for my fiance to help him fall asleep at night. I bought him a bottle and a bought him a second bottle in my next order. I think you can tell that it helps him.

I loved the cards that they came with. They were so informational and very useful. I hope they continue to do this in all of their boxes.

HUM FLATTER ME, $25 for 30 day supply

Using these for a month inconsistently, I don’t think they help me. I took this consistent for the first 2 weeks, but I noticed no difference in how flat my stomach was. My stomach wasn’t flatter after use. I think it might be made more for shedding water weight. It might not work well for me, because I also had a c-section and I have celiac disease. I would not buy these ones again, but I will use up what I have.

HUM BEAUTY zzZz, $10 for a 30 day supply

I bought these for my fiance, Martin to help him fall asleep at night. I bought him a second bottle, so I can pretty much tell you that these work for him. He doesn’t take them every night, but when he does, he says that he can tell a difference. It’s worth a try if you have trouble sleeping.

HUM RAW BEAUTY GREEN SUPERFOOD POWDER, $39 for 30 day supply

I tried this once in my water and I didn’t like it. It is better to add in juice, smoothies, or milkshakes. I don’t drink a lot of any of those things, so I haven’t touch this since. Plus, I want to get empty tea bags, so I don’t mix this and get floaty things in my drink. I want to use this up, but it isn’t the most tasty thing out there. I’m actually going to try a different protein vitamin mix after I use this up.

This sample made me by the bottle in my next order, spoiler alert!

I also bought a water infuser bottle as it has unique time markings on the size. I now drink 8 cups of water of 64 oz of water a day. I fill this up twice and I am good. I never knew that I could drink that amount of water, until I bought this bottle. The time marks really helps to encourage myself to pick up the pace or feel good drinking it before the time on the marks. Drinking two bottles of this is now my new routine and part of my new healthy lifestyle.

For the Sake of Hauling

I told you that there would be many hauls. After losing power for an hour this morning, because something at National Grid overheated in my town, I am ready to write up this blog post and then tackle paying my bills. Probably a lie. Probably going to work on a few blog posts before I do that. I hate watching all of my money disappear. lol. I have a few Dean hauls in the works to write and it is almost April. I am so behind in my mind on the blog posts that I want to write. I am going back to college (online) in the Fall, so my blog will get behind then too. At least, I’ll have a good reason then. Still plan on posting twice a week though during that time. I don’t want to become irrelevant.

treadmill

I bought a Welso Manual Treadmill to get my exercise on. I have only used it once so far but it is very nice. It is quiet and on an incline. The incline makes for short 15 minute sessions in the beginning, but I haven’t exercised in a long time. Having a baby can do that to you. This manual treadmill doesn’t contain magnets, so it isn’t going to break on you. I also bought a warranty on mine in case it does break. Love the compact size and the price point: only $100. Seriously. Will never go electric again. I feel the workout more with the manual than I ever did with the electric.

headphones

These were only $5 at Walmart and I just needed some basic ear pieces. Not much more to say about it. I’ve been loving the color blush pink lately.

conditioner

I did it again! I meant to buy purple shampoo and I bought conditioner instead. When I go back tomorrow, I will grab the matching shampoo as well. I am going blonde, so I need a good purple shampoo when I do. Not Your Mother’s is cruelty free and I have tried a couple of things from them before. Hopefully, it work to keep my blonde from getting brassy.

deordorant

I love this all natural deodorant. It really works and I love the scent. I want to purchase it in the rose and vanilla scent after this one. This one smells like a Margarita and I love it. You have to warm it up a bit in your arm pit first, but really worth it. It does last the 24 hrs that most deodorants claim too but don’t actually last that long. I’ve never felt more confident than wearing this deodorant.

home

I am totally OBSESSED with Pioneer Woman EVERYTHING. I bought these cute doves for my shakers and I couldn’t be happier with them. I want to get EVERYTHING from this brand to build my dream kitchen. For most thing, I will wait until I buy my own house, but if I need things here and there, I will buy what I need from this brand. So far, I just have these and the can opener in that nice blue that the box is except brighter. It is really high quality and I highly recommend. I bough the shakers for $5, because Walmart marked them down. I always check this aisle now for marked down items in case I need something. I saw plates and cups marked down. I could use a few big dinner plates, but no such luck yet.

A Day Off Haul

Yesterday, I finally took my little one apple picking at the end of the season. I strapped him to my chest in his carrier and he managed to slap a few apples off the tree. We have about 5 baby apples, which were the ones Dean “picked”. The orchard had a little store and you buy your apple bag first and then go picking, which is different from other places. Other places give you a bag and then weigh your apples afterward. I only paid 11.99 plus tax (for the bag, which was only about a quarter).

We had a great time picking our own apples, which were Red Delicious, MAC, Fuji, Pink Lady, Macoun, and Courtland. Only Red Delicious, Pink Lady, and Courtland are in season, but we managed to pick a few good ones still remaining on the other trees. They had a beautiful store of already picked apples, a bakery, and tons of homemade canned goods. They are opened year round, so I’ll definitely be back.

I had to buy a few things from the store, of course! I bought a 1/2 gallon of apple cider, because the one at Walmart sucks and I wanted to see if there was a difference. This was even cheaper than Walmart at 3.75 USD. I really wanted to try some apple butter, but they were all out. I opted for apricot butter instead, which I hope will taste amazing on my morning toast. It was 2.85 for 9 oz, which is a steal! The big jar of apricot preserves was 6.20 for a pound! My dad and I love apricots, so we had to get this. I also bought an apple cider powered doughnut and a piece of apple crisp, not pictured because it was gone in the car. 🙂 From there, I went to Walmart for some food essentials and odds and ends.

These were on a little clearance food display for a dollar a piece. I got both varieties to put in a little glass bowl at my desk at work for a little chocolate pick-me-up. It was really cheap, so I was like “Why not?”. I’ve never had these flavors before.

This is the NUK Learning Cup, which is essentially a sippy cup with a bottle nipple like spout. I think that Dean will take to this one a lot better. It is most similar to a bottle, so I’m hoping it will be a smooth transition and that he will immediately take to it. It’s a little girly, but this was the only design they had. If he takes to it, I will invest in some boy ones for him. My goal is to get rid of the bottles by 1 years old. Hopefully, he likes this one and after he’s one, we will learn how to use a regular cup. Maybe, he will use the 360 cup then, because he would be older and can figure it out better. I’ll be sure to review the bottles that he uses (Parent’s Choice), before I get rid of them.

I am definitely coming down with something. I’ve had massive migraines, stuffy noise, and sore throat. I bought hand sanitizer for my desk at work to keep myself as protected as possible. I need gentle medicine, since I am still breast feeding. The Equate version of Thereaflu is a lot cheaper and works just as well. I used a packet last night and it tastes just like a sweetened cup of tea. It took care of my stuffy noise and sore throat. I wish I bought more than one box, but hopefully, I don’t have a cold for very long. I’m taking the second packet in an hour or so. Like I said, I have to be very careful with how much and what type of medicine that I use while breast feeding. I do better with drinkable meds than pills anyways. I’ve always used meds that dissolve in water, once I found out that they worked better for me than traditional pills.

pens

I love the PaperMate InkJoy pens a lot. The packet of pens that I bought for school are almost running out, so I needed replacements fast. I’m through half the course and I already filled up my notebook as well. These pens were cheap at under 4 USD. I have a few more colors as well such as light green and brown to color code with. I might need to replace my highlighters as well, since they aren’t working as well as before.

Well, that is my little Friday haul. I hope you all enjoyed it. I enjoyed my day off yesterday and I hope I can be just as productive the rest of this weekend.

With Love ❤

Smart Stuff Suncreen

I don’t know about you, but all the sunscreens I have every tried do one of three things: has a white cast, makes you greasy, or both! I have found a game changer! A sunscreen that leaves my skin both matte and white cast free. Enter Smart Stuff Sunscreen. This sunscreen is an all natural mineral sunscreen with SPF 30.

Here’s some information from Smart Stuff:

Today, what started as a basic need of two ambitious doctors motivated by the love of their autistic child has evolved into something bigger than they ever could have imagined. We become inattentive to our health needs and neglect proper eating, sleeping, and the knowledge conducive to our well-being that it leaves us to ignore so many other important parts of our life – family and health. SMART STUFF™ products allow you to take the guesswork out of choosing the right product, leaving you free to enhance and protect the moments that matter without compromising safety and health.

I love what this company stands for and that they make it easy for you to feel good about choosing and using their product. I feel totally safe using this sunscreen on my nine month old son who is constantly licking himself besides putting everything in sight in his mouth. I know that he won’t be ingesting nasty chemicals, when he does happen to suck on his foot or fist. I love knowing that his new, sensitive skin is protected naturally. It doesn’t cause any irritation on his skin and even water can irritate his! So, that’s a big thing to me that this product is so gentle.

As you can see the mineral sunscreen is chunky, because it is made with minerals to protect you naturally from the sun. As you may or may not know, mineral sunscreen causes flashback, which is why my hand appears to be white in the bottom picture. I can assure you that this causes no white cast in person and that when photos are taken at a distance, there is no whitening effect in the photos. The “whitening” effect will only appear in close up shots.

I’ve been using this as my go to facial sunscreen, which I use facial sunscreen EVERYDAY not just in the summer. This has been my go to sunscreen, because it doesn’t turn me into a ghost and it isn’t greasy. This leaves a very matte finish that I love for those no makeup days. What’s the best thing about this product? At the beach, you can easily layer on this sunscreen without turning into a greasy mess. No slippery hands during that game of frisbee that some hot guy asked you to and will give you 40 minutes of water resistance protection for when you guys take a swim to cool off. My favorite activity is swimming, so I’m happy to see that it’ll keep me protected Now, all I have to do is to remember not to swim for 90 minutes at a time.

Baby Vitamins *Day 22*

For Enfamil Liquid Vitamins A, C, & D Supplement TrViSol

Vitamins

What It Is:

A multivitamin for breastfed infants.

Key Ingredients:

Glycerin, water, Vitamin A, D3, ascorbic acid

How It Smells/Looks/Tastes:

It is a brown colored liquid that smells like Twizzlers and tastes like red licorice rope from when I was a kid.

Why Dean Didn’t Like It:

He hated the taste of this liquid multivitamin. He is now on a different brand and doesn’t have a problem taking it. If your child doesn’t like this vitamin, try a different brand. I didn’t think that it would make a difference and it does. Nothing against this brand, though. My child just doesn’t like it.

Dresser Clean Out *Day 17*

My whole dresser from the inside out was a mess with all of our clothes. I’ve been cleaning out our clothes more often since having Dean. He grows out of clothes so fast, so I need to keep up with purging clothes and consigning them for a little extra money.Dean just turned 7 months, so I wanted to clean out his 3-6 month old clothes that weren’t fitting him anymore. We also entered Summer, so I wanted to put away the heavier items that still fit him like his fleece sleeping sacks. It seemed like a great opportunity to clean out the places that need cleaning like the dresser, his crib, his “corner”, and the walk in closet. I decided to make it a little series. I hope you like it. I might continue this series for other places in my apartment that need cleaning as well.

The first thing I did was clear off the top of the dresser and throw (or place) everything on my bed. I wiped down the top of the dresser with a Clorox wipe and let that dry. Then, I replaced the items that are necessary back on the top like the lamp and T.V.. I threw out the trash and placed games away. The clothes, I kept on the bed to go through and I put back my planner, album supplies, keepsake baby journal, and some clothing items that I placed in a gallon Ziploc bag. I will be buying some storage for under my bed that these things will go in to save for Dean, when he gets older. Lastly, I place back his toys and a few odds and ends. It looks better now, but it will be much improved with the new storage bins.

I took apart Dean’s drawers first and threw everything on the bed. I then, went through his clothes, piece by piece to see what fits him and what could be consigned, donated, and trashed. His top drawer remains the “underwear” drawer with socks, shoes, onsies or undershirts, and t-shirts. The next drawer, I put in his shorts, jeans, overalls, light sweaters, bibs, outfits, pajamas, cloth sleeping sack, and enclosed feet outfits. I ended up with an empty drawer for him, which is great. I know that it will be filled soon, since two people are giving me some more lightly used baby clothes.

I organized my underwear drawer much the same way and had my dad go through his. The last drawer is a junk drawer for my dad to put odds and ends into. I really need a home of my own instead of an apartment. It’s too small with three of us. Nevermind, when guests come over.

Mommy Vitamins *Day 15*

For Spring Valley Prenatal Multivitamin Adult Gummy

vitamins

What It Is:

A multivitamin in gummy form for pregnant and nursing women.

Key Ingredients:

Contains everything you need except Iron & Calcium.

How It Smells/Tastes/Looks:

They look like sugar coated fruit shaped gummies in the colors green, yellow, orange, and red. They smell a little fishy, but tastes exactly like gummy bears. I really enjoyed these gummies and have already repurchased them several times.

Why I Like It:

I really enjoyed the taste of these, so I remember to eat them everyday. I wished that they contained iron and calcium, because otherwise, I would have not have developed anemia. Now, I buy both of these supplements separately. I buy calcium chews and iron pills. Hopefully, they will work on my anemia, which is borderline harmful (It worked btw).
