Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum

It should come as no surprise that I have chosen to partner up with Valentia again on one of their amazing serums. This is the third serum that I have tried from them and I have loved every single one of them. This one is no exception. I always use a serum night and day. My skin drinks them up and they actually do something. I hardly use toners, because I don’t think they really work. Using Valentia’s Night Revive Retinol Serum, I saw results in how plump my skin looks and the little bit of acne bumps disappear. Retinol is a great in ingredient for anti-aging, but also for clearing acne.

Here’s what Valentia says about their serum:

Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum – A transformative retinol serum that fights wrinkles and provides hydration, for visibly smoother, rejuvenated skin.

This Retinol Serum Will:
– Diminishes wrinkles
– Stimulates collagen
– Improves skin tone
– Manages breakouts
– Conditions skin

Specially selected ingredients work together to achieve optimum results.

KEY INGREDIENTS:

– Retinol (Vitamin A): Works at the cellular level to stop winkles, manage breakouts, and evens out skin discoloration.

– Vitamin C: Guards skin against environmental free-radicals to prevent premature aging.

– Vitamin E: Provides intense hydration to diminish the drying effects of retinol.

– Squalane: Derived for pure olive oil to soften and condition delicate skin.

The serum sinks right into the skin and feels hydrating. It also feels very light, because the skin just soaks it right up. I am glad that the serum has a dropper instead of a pump. Having a dropper made the process of getting the right amount of serum so easy. The pump made it difficult to get every last drop. I know a bit went to waste, which made me sad. Now, there will be no waste with the dropper. More bang for your buck, since you can use all of it. There is no scent, which I actually prefer, since there are so many scented products these days. I don’t feel overwhelmed with another scented product and I know there is no perfumes to irritate my skin.

Valentia serums are so affordable at 25 to 35 USD (This one is 35) for over 1 fl oz, which is unheard of with other popular Sephora brands. Valentia serums are just as effect, if not more so. I’ve been more impressed with Valentia than my Ole Henrikson serum. Also, message me for a promo code for 20% your purchase of any Valentia product!

Sheet Masked Murderer

For Love & Beauty By Forever 21 Cucumber Sheet Mask

mask

I cannot believe that this mask is for sensitive skin. It burned my cheeks and chin area. Although, these areas were not visibly red after the fact, I do not find burning sensations relaxing. This mask had a nice scent to it, but the sheet mask itself was very unproportional to my face. The forehead area only covered half of my forehead and the cheek area was way too large for my face. I would not purchase this sheet mask, but this one was a gift and I was happy to try it out. Maybe, a different type by the same brand wouldn’t be as irritating to my skin. Looking over the ingredients, I think it might be the witch hazel. A little too much stings my face.

A Hot Toddy For Me

For Lush Hot Toddy Shower Gel

Hot Toddy Shower Gel

I bought this for the gold glitter and I will repurchase it for the scent. I love the scent of this shower gel. It is spicy and very strong. It makes me feel warm inside. It’s a very warm scent that lingers on the skin and in the bathroom for hours. I would love a lotion in this scent. It is very festive. I love the blood red color as well. The gold glitter collected on the bottom, so I didn’t end up glittery. That was a bit disappointing. I enjoy a good shimmer and sparkle. I know now that I will buy a big bottle of this or at least, the medium size. I can fully commit to this scent. I’m not one to repurchase the same scent twice, so that says something that I want it again.

Blueberry Green Tea

For Bigelow Green Tea With Wild Blueberry & Acai

Mooky

What it is: Green tea flavored with wild blueberries and acai.

Key Ingredients: green tea, rose hips, hibiscus, natural blueberry and acai flavors, blueberry fiber, acai juice.

How it smells/tastes/looks: The tea (once brewed) is purple in color and smells like a mixture of green tea and sweet blueberries. The tea tastes naturally sweet, but I find that most green/white teas are sweeter in flavor to black. I prefer green, white, and herbal teas to black, even if it is in an appealing flavor.

Why I like it: I really like having this tea with just a teaspoon of sugar to add to the sweetness, but most of the time I just have it without any sugar. I can taste the blueberries and the green tea, but not much else, which is alright with me. I don’t really like the flavor of hibiscus, which is a flavor (flower) that I do not like whatsoever. It tastes like perfume, but this tea is delicious and I really enjoyed it. I would buy this tea again or any other green tea for that matter. What do you enjoy drinking? Or do you like coffee better?

Eight O’Clock

For Keurig Brewed Eight O’Clock Colombian Peaks K-Cup Packs

coffee

What it is: 100% Colombian Arabic coffee

Key Ingredients: Arabic coffee, foil, plastic

How it smells/tastes/looks: I love the smell of strong Colombian coffee. Honestly, Colombian coffee is my favorite kind (without anything added). The coffee is very dark, almost black. No other coffee is quite as dark as Colombian coffee. Colombian coffee has a rich, strong coffee flavor with just a hint of sweetness to it. This coffee has that bold flavor with zero burnt taste that some coffees can get if brewed improperly.

Why I like it: The coffee is always brewed to perfection, since it is a K-cup. I like that you can always get a deal (I wait for  them at Kmart) and use a coupon to further along your buck. I enjoy the way the coffee tastes. I like that with a little bit of sugar and creamer, you can still taste the strength of the coffee. That is quality coffee for you. I really love the Keurig. I will be buying the Hamilton Beach coffee maker or any brand coffee maker that you can brew K-cups in and ground coffee. I saw one online at Kmart for 25 dollars. So, if you are looking for a Christmas gift for me, a coffee maker would be heaven on earth. I need my coffee fix! Especially after delivering a baby boy.

My Current Status

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

I am feeling off today, so instead of an unboxing, I will share with you the current song that I can relate to about my ex-fiancé. Yep, I’ve been through them all. The songs that make me cry and the revenge songs. I had to take off some songs on my Ipod, because they were making me cry at work. But this is the song that I can relate to the most right now and yes, this song does make me cry.

Tomorrow by Chris Young

Tomorrow I’m gonna leave here
I’m gonna let you go and walk away like every day I said I would
And tomorrow, I’m gonna listen
To that voice of reason inside my head telling me that we’re no good

[Chorus:]
But tonight I’m gonna give in one last time
Rock you strong in these arms of mine
Forget all the regrets that are bound to follow
We’re like fire and gasoline
I’m no good for you
You’re no good for me
We only bring each other tears and sorrow
But tonight, I’m gonna love you like there’s no tomorrow

Tomorrow I’ll be stronger
I’m not gonna break down and call you up when my heart cries out for you
And tomorrow, you won’t believe it,
But when I pass your house,
I won’t stop no matter how bad I want to

Baby when we’re good, you know we’re great
But there’s too much bad for us to think that there’s anything worth trying to save

Tomorrow, I’m gonna leave here
I’m gonna let you go and walk away like every day I said I would

Yes, I just teared up a bit reading the lyrics. I love the music video that goes along with this song as well. Anyone going through the slumps of a breakup even though it was 6 months ago or so?

Chocolate Nesquik

For Nestle Nesquik in Chocolate

My nail look from the past week.
My current nail look for Manicure Monday.

What it is: An infused chocolate drink mix targeted towards children.

Key Ingredients: sugar, cocoa, salt, spice, artificial flavors, vitamins, minerals, soy, milk, wheat

How it smells/tastes/looks: It smells like rich powdered hot chocolate mix and you could probably use it as hot chocolate mix as well, even though it is meant to be a breakfast drink. It looks like regular chocolate milk and tastes like it too. I personally like powdered versus syrup, because I think powdered is less in calories and easier to mix together with cold milk.

Why I like it: I like that it doesn’t take much effort in the morning to make and that it does offer some type of nutrition that regular chocolate milk does not. I would buy a small container of this for me and my future son to share. I wouldn’t drink this all of the time, pregnant or not. It is a nice alternative to breakfast when you are just not up to having anything to eat. This would be better than nothing, that is for sure.

Entertainment Monthly: October

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

It has been a hot minute since I have written an entertainment post. I have been mostly watching episodes of tv shows and I only review those at the end of every season. I haven’t been watching a ton of movies, but I have rented from Redbox and watched a couple on Netflix recently. I hope you enjoy this and I hope to be writing at least one more this month. I enjoy writing these posts. Also, this week, you can look forward to more product reviews, an unboxing, and a breakdown of the box I unboxed.

Descendants
disney-descendants-movie-poster
I loved this movie, so sue me! I loved the catchy songs and I thought that it was a unique plot. I was surprised that Disney never thought to do this before. Is music overdone on Disney? Yes, but I wasn’t feeling well and this just made my whole day in bed a lot better. There is going to be a sequel and I will be watching it for sure. I like Dove Cameron’s singing voice a lot better than the other girl’s voice in the movie, but that is just personal preference. I don’t think the singing talent was amazing or anything. I just enjoyed the catchy tones to songs new and old from Disney.

Juniper Ascending
jupiter-ascending-dvd-cover-39
This was an interesting concept for a movie, but not executed in the way that it should have been. There were two great lead roles and I felt the chemistry between them. However, there were things that didn’t make any sense in the plot and it was boring at times. I didn’t really understand fully what was going on and when I thought I did, there was an event or something said that would contradict it. This movie had the potential to be great, but it fell short. Now, it was just interesting. Nothing more, nothing less.

The Longest Ride
The Longest Ride
Oh, I loved this movie, even if I didn’t read the book! Now, I really want to read the book. Let me know when you are done with it, Danielle. This movie was everything I needed it to be: perfectly romantic and tragic. It was bittersweet, but filled with humorous moments. I recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a good romance and possibly cry a little. I’m not going to lie, I did tear up with this one. Stupid pregnancy hormones. This is not your typical Nicholas Sparks movie. He has truly broken his own predictable mold.

The Age of Adaline
The-Age-of-Adaline-Full-Movie
I really enjoyed this movie, even though it was a bit boring at times. I just love Blake Lively and I think that she is a terrific actress. She played her role very well and I cried a bit during this movie as well. It was so touching. I have been really loving romantic movies lately, especially ones that go from the present backwards. There were other great actors in this movie as well. It was a great cast and a unique plot. There is something refreshing about seeing something you have never seen before instead of an imitation or copy of other movies.

The Duff
Duff
I watched this with Danielle when she came over my house in September. This was hilarious and reminded me a bit of Mean Girls or another iconic movie like that. I enjoyed all of the talent in this movie and I liked that it was way more than just about making a girl over. It reached a deeper level, which is unique to the young adult/teen movies that you usually see. It was superficial, while cutting deeper into what kind of bullying girls do to girls. I was fully engrossed in this movie.

Sensitive Care

For Schick Hydro Silk Sensitive Care Replacement Blades

razor refills

What it is: A 5 blade replacement head with aloe strips for soothing sensitive skin.

Key Ingredients: metal, plastic, glycerin, aloe

How it feels/smells/looks: They smell fresh when you first buy them. They have five blades, two moisturizing strips, and a bottom rubber guard for sensitive skin like mine.

Why I like it: These are the only blades that I will ever use until they get discontinued. The type of razor that I have (razor/trimmer in one) might have something to do with it, because it allows the head to pivot and get all those difficult areas like around the ankle bones and knee caps. I have never gotten a nick with this blade, which is something that has never happened before. I used to use the disposable version of this blade, but it doesn’t work nearly as good as this one. I don’t get any missing spots. It cuts my hairs with ease, a feat I only thought possible using a blade made for men. Woman razors have come a long way.

Amber Blush

For Bath & Body Works Amberblush Eau De Toilette

Perfume
On the right

What it is: An eau de toilette purse spray in the scent Amberblush.

Key Ingredients: alcohol denat., water, fragrance, citral, limonene, and linalool.

How it smells: It definitely smells like I think the stone Amber would. It is strong, sweet, and musky. I think it smells like white musk and a mix of citrus oil and cotton candy. It is a beachy scent and it has a grown up sweetness to it. I wish they still made this scent or would bring it back. I don’t understand why this was not a popular enough scent to bring back.

Why I like it: I love this scent and how it lasts all day long. This lasts all day using two sprays over a sweet vanilla body spray base. I always layer a body spray or lotion that complements the scent underneath my perfume. This is the first perfume in a while that I have finished, since it just takes so damn long to do so.
