Prime Objective Perfecting Face Primer

Hello everyone! I am back again with another sponsored post. I teamed up with Studio Gear Cosmetics and tried out their Prime Objective Perfecting Face Primer. I have a few pros and cons to share with you, but first, a little about the company and the product.

Studio Gear Cosmetics is all about great quality makeup and tools at an affordable price for the modern everyday woman. The primer is priced at $30 USD for 1 oz of primer, which is around the same price as some high end brands like Tarte. It has a cute motto about a painter priming a canvas which is the same as you primer your face for makeup. It’s really a cute concept. This primer is a silicone based primer that glides onto the skin blurring imperfections and adding a shimmery radiance.

I really like the silky texture and finish to the skin. Anything I put on top of this primer glides on. It also takes out the shine of my sunscreen. I put my moisturizer/sunscreen on top of my primer and my skin  has a natural finish instead of a shiny/oily looking one. I really like that it keeps the skin as matte as possible. If I can skip powder, I’m happy with one less step. On natural days, I’ll just use my primer and some highlighter and eye makeup. On yucky skin days, I’ll use the primer, foundation, concealer, and use powder on top. Makeup really does last longer with this powder.

I would repurchase this and you can purchase this now for 10% off, just use the code BB at checkout. This code is not an affiliate code and I get nothing if you use it. I just thought that I would share the savings.

The only con about the primer is that it tends to ball up on itself or balls up product underneath it. What I do is I pump out a pump on my fingers and dot the product on my t-zone first, then my cheeks. I smooth it over my forehead, down the nose, across each side of the nose going across my cheeks where I tend to get clogged pores, my cheeks, and then my chin. Don’t rub the product all over and don’t use a lot of pressure. It has a learning curve with how to best apply. So, light pressure and just smooth it across the skin. I’ve found that that is the best way.

This primer blurs my clogged pores and makes them disappear. Honestly, I’m always having a good skin day when I wear it, unless I have an obvious pimple. It just makes my whole face look so clear and smooth. I will have to repurchase when I run out, when I can splurge on it. It will last me awhile though. I’ve been using it for a month and it’s almost a fifth gone. I would guess that this will last me five to six months, but I don’t use it everyday. Mostly just four to five days a week.

Night-A-Mins

For Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-Enriched Renewal Cream

eye cream

I bought this with 100 Sephora perk points, because I was interested in buying something from the brand. I have to say though that I did not like this night cream. It just sits on my skin and will not sink in. It feels clammy and heavy on my skin as well. I do not recommend this product, but I really want to try something else from this brand. I’ve heard great things about the Vita-zing line, so I’ll probably try something from there. I was happy to use this stuff up. It was a thick paste consistency and ever time I thought was the last time, I was disappointed to find more product. A dud for me.

Super Youth

For OZ Naturals Super Youth Eye Gel

I was super disappointed when I used up the last drop of this basic eye gel. I used this in the morning to depuff my eye area and this was great for that. It was cooling and didn’t irritate my eyes at all. I have another morning eye cream to use up, but I will be repurchasing this one. It is so cheap on amazon, around 10 USD, and filled with all natural ingredients. I didn’t notice a difference in my dark circles, but mine are herititary. I don’t think anything really can help it. I like using a basic eye gel in the morning and an eye treatment cream at night. Next time I buy my dogs Greenies, I will add this to my cart. I need a back up. Also, I love the pump!

Beauty Protector

For Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Leave in Conditioner

leave in conditioner

I love the scent of this product and if they made a perfume of it, I would buy it. Once I use up some of my perfumes that is. This does what any detangler does. It detangled my hair and made it feel silky and moisturized. I still prefer Its A 10 just because I can nab it in stores like Walmart. I wouldn’t mind getting this in another sample/subscription box. I’m on a strict nobuy, except for necessities and Christmas. I have too many backups to use up. Once I get my stash under control, I would subscribe to Sephora Play. I enjoyed using this product, but I would not repurchase. I do recommend it, though.

Boo-Boo

For Boo-Boo Cover-Up Concealer in Medium

Liquid Concealer: Boo-Boo Cover-Up

This shade was too orange for my complexion/skin tone, so I only used this sparingly to cover up spots and then apply my foundation on top. It does cover up somewhat but not completely. You can still see the texture of the spots. I don’t recommend this and I will not be repurchasing. I think that there are better concealers at the drugstore that actually cover spots. Once I blended the color in, it was like sheer coverage. It honestly was not worth the step of using this concealer, but I did use it up and I can say that I truly hate it. I am glad that it is gone and out of my collection forever. I just hate seeing products go to waste, so I had to use it up.

Big Blue

For Lush Big Blue Bath Bomb

I enjoyed the peaceful scent of this bath bomb and it really did smell of the ocean without the fishy scent. I could smell the brine and “feel” the sand between my toes. The water turned a lovely deep turquoise blue. The pictures do not do it justice. Although the seaweed was a nice touch, it wasn’t for me. I hate the feel of seaweed on my skin and trying to get it out of the tub was such a pain. I got two baths out of one bath bomb. The bath had a moisturizing quality to it and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. I would not repurchase this one. It did not wow me and had a messy clean up. It did not stain the tub though, which is always a bonus.

Simple Wipes

For Simple Micellar Make-Up Remover Wipes

wipes

I didn’t like these. I felt like the cloth was a little too rough and the solution just didn’t remove all of my makeup like a cotton pad and cleansing water does. I use the wipes for when I am too tied to care or in the morning instead of cleansing. I had a coupon so I got the wipes for free. I would not repurchase unless I got one of these coupons again. I like the Equate knock off of Garnier a lot better. I haven’t found a wipe yet that can beat those ones. It was an okay product, but it did not wow me. I like that the wipe didn’t burn or irritate my eyes.

Tree Hut Lover

For Tree Hut Shea Moisturizing Body Lotion

Body Lotion

This is the 2nd lotion that I have used up for my 20 before 2017 products! Only 18 more to go! I love the sweet vacation coconut scent. I used this a lot in college, so it kind of brings me back to that time and working at Kmart. This was very moisturizing and I have a second tube of this in storage, so I won’t repurchase since I already have another bottle and about twenty other lotions. I’m slowly working my way through my stash. This lotion is a thick cream, but sinks in fast. My skin feels velvety smooth after applying and smooth after applying and for 6 to 7 USD, you cannot go wrong. Also, its made in the USA, which is nice to see and support.

In The Nude

For Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude

I liked using this, but only when I powdered on top of it. It has a tendency to move around on my face and be rubbed off. Okay, I didn’t really like it, but I spent 20 USD on it. I made it work. I used my fingers to apply to avoid brush strokes on my face. It never really sunk into my face and made me look too shiny. It gave a medium coverage and I loved how “perfected” (poreless) my face looked. It’s not worth all the work I had to go through to achieve it though. I would try more by this brand. I’ve heard amazing things about their powder and lip gloss, but I will not be repurchasing this item.

Total Flirt

For Victoria’s Secret 2-In-1 Wash & Scrub in Pink Total Flirt

scrub

I love the sweet green apple scent of PINK Total Flirt and I would repurchase this scent. I wouldn’t repurchase this wash and scrub though. It was fine, but it wasn’t much of a scrub at all. The little beads tend to stick to my skin and I had a hard time rinsing it off. I would buy a regular shower gel or body wash in this scent though. It did foam up nice. I bought this when Victoria’s Secret was having a buy 1 get 2 free sale. It must have been a clearance sale, since I bought it at the end of the summer. I will be buying more VS stuff on offer. I think I have only one full sized wash & scrub left and a few trial sizes of body wash from Lush. I sense a haul in my near future.
