5 OUT: Product Reviews

So, I have uncovered more old reviews that I have written and never reviewed on my blog. I thought that I would share another 5 of these today. I am happy to see that my drafts on my blog are getting smaller in numbers. I mean, I always a few in there so as to not forget to write about them like my Monthly Reads, Movies, EI, ABA, Semester, and Project 200 pan posts. I always have a draft with the titles in there for those. Other than that, I am free to write whatever posts that I would like. It is a great feeling. I used to have a ton of posts that I planned in there. I have greater freedom now to do what I feel like doing and not feel guilty about it. I still plan on doing some cooking/baking posts now that I have a camera! I am looking forward to those posts!

New England Coffee in Blueberry Cobbler

This was just terrible. I usually enjoy coffee from this brand, but this flavor tasted terrible. Not even coffee creamer could redeem it. I love trying new flavored coffees and would buy from this brand again, just not this flavor. I’m very picky when it comes to my flavored coffees. It has to be just right and hit all the right notes. This coffee just tasted burnt to me, even though it was never burnt once or left out too long. I brew by the cup, so no chance of that happening. There was definitely no “juicy, berry flavor” like they claim. This did not taste like fruit at all. I figured it would taste good like fruit and chocolate but no.

Yankee Candle Tropical Island Breeze

The candle scent was so good that I burned through two of these that I bought at Marshall’s. It is sweet and light and perfect for those muggy summer nights. It smells like summer. These are huge candles and I burned through them so fast, because the scent was always there but never overwhelming. The candle itself burns clean and there is very little wax left in the jar. I would repurchase this if I saw it at Marshall’s again and I am going to be keeping an eye out for more Yankee Candles at my local store. $13 is such a steal!

Gerber Sweet Potato Puffs

Dean really enjoyed these puff snacks, but he had to be in the mood for them. They are kind of bland, so I am going to see if there is any healthy adult cereal that he can try with more flavor to it. I would purchase these again, but he is over them. He loves strong flavors.

MJCARE Snail Sheet Mask

I was really afraid of trying this mask, but I had nothing to fear. It smells light and perfumey. I didn’t notice anything but more moisturized skin and a more plump appearance. I find that all sheet masks do the same thing, but I love the experience when I have the time for it. MJCARE masks are also really basic and a dollar a mask. I’ve tried Tony Moly masks and I feel like they only perform a little bit better, giving me a little more glow or a bit clearer pores. I will repurchase on my next Amazon order and I don’t buy very often from them.

Avon Advance Techniques Keep Clear Anti-Dandruff Treatment

Anytime I had a bit of dandruff, this leave in scalp treatment did the trick. I can no longer find this on Avon’s website. I’ve had this for a very long time. I no longer shop Avon, because they are not cruelty free and that’s a big thing that I am trying to stick by now when it comes to beauty products. Avon is also a big pyramid scheme but that is a story for another time.

There you have it. 5 more reviews of products that are no longer part of my collection (besides the other MJCARE sheet masks). What have you used up lately? I still got a ton of reviews that I need to write and share on my blog. I am very backed up. Doing this 200 pan, I am using up stuff faster than I can review it and with school, I don’t even try anymore. I need to start writing these at least twice a month. I know everyone says that they are busy, but I mean, I really am. I’m not sitting here watching Netflix. I am blogging and getting my papers edited to upload for school that’s due today. Speaking of which, I should probably get those done now before I start another procrastinating blog post.

July Empties

My camera is still being a pain, but I will be buying a new one really soon. Please bare with me. I was able to take pictures in a dim corner with the flash on. I cannot wait for my new Kodak camera, but I am looking at reviews first to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the product first. I’m just surprised that a $200 camera that was 50% off wouldn’t last more than two years. Seems very strange to me. Anyway, I went through a lot of product in July, but so far August has been a bust. So, I guess it will even out seeing as I have a whole basket of empties here. I am excited to see just how many I have and what will count towards me empties goal of the year.

There you have it folks! I had 30 empties for the month of July! That even amazes me. lol. I didn’t think I had nearly as much as I did. Since I am already halfway through August, I cannot count my goals towards this month. So, I will talk about September’s goals. I would like to use up a few more makeup products. I have a bunch of primers on their last legs and I want to use them up. I also have two lip products that could be used up as well. I want to use up a lotion, a hair product, and a skin care one as well. I think these are modest goals for September. Most of my stuff rain out in July and I opened new things. Probably will explain why August will be so light.

Cozy Autumn Cuddle

Glade Candles

These little candles are so expensive at $3 a piece, but they are so worth it. The scent throw on these are amazing and I love the seasonal scents the best. This smells like a warm pumpkin pie. It also burns down really nice and even. I think it took 2 to 3 Saturdays burning this one for about 6 hours. I have to find out if Glade is cruelty free before I allow myself to purchase another. It is my favorite drugstore candle brand.

February Empties

I have another month of empties to share with all of you. I used up a lot of items this month and I am hoping to finish up even more in March. My skincare cabinet has a bit of room to it now. My first thought was to bring in more items from my back stock, but I have refrained from doing that so far. I wanted to bring in another face mask, but I already have 5 open. lol. I love skin care products, but I am trying to convince myself that a little bit of room is good to be able to comfortably reach everything without knocking bottles over.

Gosh, 41 items in the month of February is a lot of items to get through in a very short month. I am very excited to see what March brings. So far, my basket is empty, but that was how Feb started and I ended up with 41 empties. I love getting rid of so much stuff and not wasting it either. I am excited to see how many of these items count towards my Project 200 pan. I feel like at this rate, 200 might be a real achievable goal for me. If I reach it too soon, then I will up my goal depending upon how many months are left in the year.

Banana Smoothie

L.W. Home Banana Smoothie Candle

This smells like those banana shaped candy that were all fruits. There were apples, oranges, and grape shapes. Does anyone remember those? Anyway, this candle burned evenly at the end of its life. Once the candle burned down, it started to melt the sides and there really wasn’t much wax left in there. I’m going to remove the wax and use the candle jar to hold all of my hair accessories. It’ll look nicer than the acrylic candy container I have them in right now. Plus, this candle container is much bigger and has a lid to keep out the dust. I’ve been recycling the candle containers that I like the look of. They are nice pops of color. I would not repurchase this scent, because it was too gentle for me. I enjoy a stronger fragrance, but I would buy from this brand again.

October Empties

Another month, another empties post. I went through surprising a lot this month. I wasn’t expecting to use up so much, but it seems like a lot of my products are on their last legs. I expect November and December to be heavy months as well. I am grateful that I never lost power in the storm that terrorized New England this week and I pray for the lives lost in the terrorist attack in New York City. That city has gone through way too much. My car was damaged in the storm, but at least, no one got hurt. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I’ll be outside playing with my son today.

I am super impressed with what I was able to move out this month. I’m running low on product reviews, so I might disappear during the week with no new posts once in a while. On those weeks, I will be writing product reviews for my blog. I like to hand write them first before typing them up on my blog. Next week will probably be an empty week. I’m going to try to write as many reviews as I can. Maybe I can empty out my review basket. I’m hoping to write ten reviews, because lets face it, there are like 50 products in my review basket right now. lol. If I do 5 reviews a day this weekend, I’ll be happy.

For B&BW Turquoise Waters 3 Wick Candle

The candle burned well and I will be cleaning up the container to reuse. The scent on this one was way too much and overpowering. I would not repurchase this scent, but I have repurchased other scents from B&BW. I recommend B&BW candles, but I always get them on sale for $10 or $12. I never buy them full price. I’m more of a sweet, fruity, beachy scent girl. This scent was good, but it wasn’t my favorite. I always had the door open (the screen closed) when I burned this one.

September Haul

I have a ton of pictures of items that I have bought over the past month and more. I pick up an item here and an item there and before you know it I still have items from May that I have yet to show on my blog. I picked up a few things in September and I’ll mix in a couple of older items as well. I’m going to make a separate post of things that Dean has been getting. I buy Dean way more stuff than myself. I am going to limit myself to showing 5 items in this post. I might make my October haul post early, because I still have quite a few items to still show. Maybe,  I’ll do a separate clothing haul for September as well. I bought Dean a coat, boots, and a hat with gloves. I didn’t take pictures of those things though. They aren’t that exciting. Maybe, I’ll show a picture of him wearing all four items.

Olay Age Defying Eye Cream

I picked this up a while ago when it was on sale for $5 at Walmart before making the decision to go cruelty free. I’m not sure if Olay is cruelty free or not, but I will be using this eye cream once I run out of some. It seems like a basic bitch eye cream. Nothing really fancy to it. I only need my eye cream to moisturize my eye area during the day. I do eye treatments at night when it can really sink in.

Harvest Snaps

Dean and I have been enjoying these snacks together. It is healthy for you and gives that satisfying crunch of a potato chip. I like the spicier mixes since it hides the flavor of the beans better. I really enjoyed the tomato basil, but Dean and I didn’t really like the Caesar. I should probably finish those up soon so they don’t go stale. I will be repurchasing a few more spicy flavors. Also, it is $1.50 a bag. Pretty cheap if you ask me.

Glade Cozy Autumn Cuddle Candle

I have to say, although I just bought this candle a few weeks ago, I am almost done with it. I love the Fall scent of this candle and I couldn’t stop burning it. I am in love with the scent of spiced pumpkin. I need to make a Marshall’s run or something. All of my candles are almost out and while these Glade candles are amazing, they are expensive at almost a $1 an ounce. If I don’t head  to Marshall’s soon like tomorrow, I might have to buy another Glade candle to get me through.

Cardamom & Coffee Exfoliating Bar Soap

I don’t usually enjoy bar soap, but I really liked this one. My dad stole it from me and has been using it. I think he likes it more than me, but I really enjoyed how moisturized my skin felt after using this. I found it at Marshall’s and would buy it again if I can find it.

Halls Defense Drops

I religiously use these every Winter/Flu season and I hardly ever get sick. I think these drops are a good reason why. I take one every day to get my daily supply of Vitamin C that fights against colds and free radicals. I will continue to repurchase this, because I really do believe that they help. I’ve been doing this for two years and I only ever got a sore throat last Winter. I used to ALWAYS get sick and now, I hardly do. The only thing that I have changed (besides getting pregnant and having a baby) are these Halls drops. I don’t believe in coincidences.

I realized while writing this post that I bought a TON of stuff for Dean over the past month or so. I will for sure be doing one or two Dean hauls and a clothing haul. I’m going to spread them out a bit though. You can see another haul post next weekend and probably every weekend in the month of October. It’s a dreary rainy day here.

September Empties

I have not counted my empties beforehand so it will be a complete surprise to see how many products I have used up this month. I am happy to have finish at least one full sized item this month that I can remember and I am really proud of myself. It was a big 2 oz night time face cream that I didn’t particularly enjoy. So, even if I only finished up like 20 things, I feel like I have accomplished so much more. Let’s get into seeing what I used up this month instead of continuing this long intro.

24 products empty isn’t a bad number to end the month with. I already have four or five empties in my basket right now and I’m sure I’ll have more soon. It seems like some things are running out all at once, but I have backups. I’m hoping that October brings a solid 20 product month as well. I’m usually very happy with using up 20 products a month. I know that may seem like a lot to other people, but I have a ton of deluxe and sample sizes that need to be used up. I’m forever adding to the collection with my Sephora and Walmart beauty boxes. I’m getting there though. I don’t have quite as big of a stash as I used to.

Nothing But Blue Skies

For Ecowix Blue Skies Candle

I really enjoyed the novelty of this candle, but it didn’t burn too evenly. I like my candles to burn evenly. It’s not the end of the world if they don’t though. If I had a wax burner, I would scrape it out and use it. This candle had a fresh scent that I loved. It was also a pretty good sized candle, so it lasted me a while. I also love candles that have covers on them, because I like to keep dust out of them. I don’t like dusting them off. I’m lazy, what can I say? The wax would have burned evenly if the wick had been in the middle of the candle instead of on the edge. I would purchase this candle and I do recommend it, if uneven burning doesn’t bother you.
