New In For Dean

I have another round up of new items that I purchased for Dean and there is more to come. I had to buy a lot of stuff to redo his room for safety reasons, so there will also be a room tour update for Dean. I haven’t done one since I first moved in almost two years ago. Also as I write this, my car is currently in the shop, because my tire almost caught on fire. You can smell burning rubber and feel the heat radiating off the tire. I burnt myself a little on the rim when I was fire extinguishing it just in case. I ended up paying $230 for new pads and the labor. Everything else was under the warranty. If I got that promotion, it would help a lot. I am writing this a week before the post goes up, so I will update if I get any news on this.

IMG_20180923_110256

I let Dean have the Noise Putty, since all three of these were just $1. He loves playing with it, so I am sure that all of these slimes will be a hit. It is a more firm slime, as the name suggests, it is more like putty. It isn’t noisy unless you put it in the container and press down on it to pop the air bubbles. For some reason, I thought that you could make noises with it in your hand. The Silly Sludge seems more watery. I am glad that they all seem like they are going to be different textures and consistencies.

IMG_20180923_110238

I saw these at Walmart, so I picked up another pack. They only have this pack out during the summer and even though Dean has only gone through 1 bubble stick, I need to have a back up pack just in case. We use bubbles everyday for therapy, so it is something that he needs to have. It calms him down when he is upset. At under $4, it wasn’t a big spend and I can still wrap it to put under the tree.

IMG_20180923_110230

I found this 3T outfit on clearance at the end of the summer for 5 or 7 dollars. He doesn’t have many shorts that are going to fit him next year, so he will at least have one pair that will fit him until I buy him some summer clothes. I thought the outfit was super cute. They only had this complete outfit for a 3T. Most of the clothes were for children under 1.

IMG_4085

This stuff really works on Dean’s dry, sensitive skin. Serena wanted to model with this photo. I think she did a good job. She could sell this product. Aveeno is still better than Equate though. Equate does a good job, but I would still invest in those expensive $3 jars. They work overnight and give his skin a serious amount of moisture. Equate is good for the rest of his body, but isn’t quite enough on his dry patches. This is also a lotion, though. The Aveeno is a balm. There is no Equate version of the balm.

KODAK Digital Still Camera

I took this picture with the new camera! It is a pretty good camera. I think the pictures can come out a bit pixelated, but kit is good for the short term until I can get a better camera next year. I really want to get a Nikon camera. Something in the $100 dollar range that takes good pictures. This is fine for blogging photos and pictures of Dean. But for great action shots of Dean, I need a better camera. This way, I can have one camera that takes great photos and another as a backup for when the other one breaks unexpectedly. Like I said, this is a great cheap camera to take pictures of, but it isn’t high quality. The quality is good, but a better camera has crisper quality if you get what I am saying. I spent $60 on this camera, but I am setting money aside next year for when I see a Nikon go on sale and I will snatch it up. An upgrade for sure from my old phone.

New In For Dean

So, Dean is going to be having a bunch of these posts, because Christmas and his birthday is right around the corner. He also has been escaping his crib. I had to make a big order for a bed, a gate to go around it for safety purposes, tv mount, cable wire covers, gate for the kitchen entry way, and a new mattress. I am just happy to be taking these pictures with a camera. I still have a few of my phone photos left over from the month or so without a camera. Now, I have a brand new phone that takes WAY better pictures, so if I am ever without a camera again, the quality won’t suffer as bad as this time. I am super excited about the holidays being around the corner! Having a child has brought back that Christmas magic to me.

Aren’t these little work boots adorable?! Dean needed a new pair of sneakers in the next size up and I thought since it was already getting colder out, he could get a boot version of a pair of sneakers. He has real winter boots from last year that I had bought a size up, so they are still good for this year. He just outgrew his size 5 and now has two pairs of size 6 boots. I am very strict with the amount of shoes that Dean has. Children are always growing, so I feel like two pairs are plenty until he can wear sandals, then three would be fine. He is a boy, so I don’t think he really cares what’s on his feet.

IMG_20180923_105939

With those growing feet of his, he needed new socks and I had to go to the men’s section to get them. That’s where they keep the little boy socks! These are toddler socks that fit sizes 4 1/2 to 8 1/2, so they should be good until he walks holes into them. He just graduated into a 6 recently, so these will wear out before he actually grows out of them. We are still using the infant socks on him, since they aren’t worn out and still easy to slip onto his foot. I’m happy not to buy socks for a long time, except for me. I’ve worn mine down to holes and currently have two pairs and a half…

YES! I bought Dean this Paw Patrol fire truck for Christmas. It goes 2 MPH and is so cute! I am currently charging it up. You have to charge it once a month to keep the battery full and after each use. It is worth it to be able to see him use it on Christmas morning! I am so excited to give it to him. I can imagine the smile on his face now. He is really into fire trucks at the moment and how could I resist this? He is going to love this motorized truck. It is mostly for indoors and during the summer on level dry ground.

IMG_20180923_111549

Dean has sensory seeking behavior, so he needs more toys that stimulates his senses. I thought this slime kit would be fun to make with him. It also has glitter which is a favorite of his. It has everything we need, so I hope that it comes out right. I thought he could help me mix everything together and watch it turn into slime. It will be a fun activity when we are housebound during my dad’s surgery. This is also a Christmas present, but it may be a birthday present.

IMG_20180923_111543

The last Christmas item for this post. I bought Dean the knock off of kinetic sand. I will still buy the real kinetic sand, but I thought I would try this out. If it is the same, then I would buy this one again, because it is so much cheaper than the real thing. I have been buying an item here and there every week to slowly build a good stash of Christmas and birthday presents. I can’t afford it all at once, but buying an item every week makes it really affordable. I started out thinking that this will be a small Christmas, but I think it will be a regular Christmas. He might not have the most expensive things, but he is loved and has tons of stuff to play with.

Macy’s Haul

So, I bought a bunch of clothes at Macy’s for Dean. It was $250 worth of clothes that I bought for $98. I love shopping at Macy’s and getting a great deal. I also bought a few outfits for Dean at Walmart that are all Paw Patrol. I will leave that haul for a different time. Dean needed some new clothes that would fit him for the current season. I recently did a clean out of him clothes and filled a small hamper full of size 6 months to 1 year old clothes that he still had in his drawers. His 18 month clothes are getting snug and probably won’t last very long as well. So, I see another Macy’s haul coming in September. Here is what I bought him:

Carter’s 2 Pc Cotton Shirt & Jogger Pants

toddler

FYI, everything is a size 2T or 2 year old toddler. 2 year old pants FINALLY fit him. His legs are super long now. I bought these long sleeve shirt and pants to transition into Spring and these will be great in the Fall as well. I love the bright green color. This outfit retails for $30 and I bought it for $11.93. This essentially makes each piece worth $6. The little green monster on the pocket is a cute touch.

Carter’s 3 PC Whale-Print Cotton PJs

toddler

These are great transitional pajamas from Spring to Summer with the pants to the soft shorts. I love the cute saying on the t-shirt. Bedtime usually requires tears at my house. lol. Retails for: $26. Purchased for: $12.99. Each piece: $4. These pants are a little long, because they aren’t cuffed at the bottom or cinched. I love the whales and the little yellow subs!

Jem Graphic Print Cotton T-Shirt

toddler

Totally describes my little boy! These were $5.99 dropped down to $3.99. It is a cute basic little t-shirt and he needed more separates for the Summer.

toddler

I also got these graphic tee, too for the same price and brand. I love the shirts with sayings on them. I think it is amusing to see a little kid with a t-shirt that says something like Here Comes Trouble and Can’t Be Tamed. Miley Cyrus could wear this shirt.

Epic Threads Little Boys Dark Blue Denim

toddler

I bought Dean his first pair of blue jeans. These retail for $30 and I bough them for $11.99. I worked briefly at Macy’s so I know how to work the sale. I worked in the teenager girl section and in the children’s department. People buy this stuff full price ALL the time, so it isn’t like JCP where the sale price is the retail price. I only buy from Macy’s on sale. Great things go on sale and I like to check them a few times a year. The Spring clearance is the best time to find Calvin Klein dresses for $40 or $60.

Epic Treads Fleece-Lined Full Zip Camo-Hood

toddler

This is super comfy and fully lined with fleece to keep Dean warm in the car seat during the Winter. It retails for $40 and I bought it for $11.96. I found matching pants, which I will show you next. This sweater is really fluffy and it is something that will still fit this coming winter. All of his sweaters got too small for him recently and I needed to get some that would fit him now.

Epic Threads Camo Print Jogger Pant

clothes

This jogging pant retails at $30 and I got it for $11.99. It is a great pair of pants for Dean. It is a bit big at the waist, but it does have draw strings to make them tighter. You try tying them when you have a 2 year old that wants to run around though. They are a thicker pant, so it is great for the Spring and Fall time. Pants last longer on Dean than shirts do. He carries most of his weight on his upper body and has a shorter, trimmer lower body. He is short and stocky. He’s my boy. ❤

Epic Threads Hooded Puffer Jacket in Gumball Red

clothes

I love, love, love this winter jacket for Dean! He can wear it strapped into the car seat, no problem. It has a retail value of $48 and I scored this lovely red jacket for $18.73. Dean chewed some of the teeth off already, so it doesn’t zip up all the way but almost. He has a real Winter jacket for exploring the backyard and sledding. Plus, that jacket is a two like this one but HUGE on Dean. He is like a marshmallow in that thing.

Paw Patrol Marshall Hooded PJs

clothes

This was so cute that I could not resist. The retail value $14.99 and I bought it for $10.86. It was so worth it and if you have stuck with me this far, you’re reward is seeing my Dean Bean in this very outfit!

I always catch him in motion! Until next time!

Thrifting

I went thrift shopping at a local consignment shop and walked away with thirty dollars worth of stuff. I love this certain consignment shop. They always have unique finds and it’s never busy. It has a nice laid back attitude and I spent an hour easily in the store. The ladies who own the place coo and ahhed over Dean keeping him happy while I shopped and tried on a bunch of clothes. I’m never rushed there and I tried on way more than I bought. There are so many styles and I love trying on clothes. I even tried on a cute evening gown just to see how I’d look. lol. I am most definitely going back to take a closer look at their jewelry and nick knacks.

Vintage Sterling Silver Plated Mirror from Hong Kong

The tag on this said $3.99, but they gave it to me for $3. It needs to be polished for sure, but it is going to be a beautiful piece on my desk. I don’t have a vanity, since I don’t have a big enough room for one. My desk is a two-for-one. lol. I use it to display my vanity pieces, but also as a desk. This mirror is really heavy, so it feels nice and solid in your hand. It has a nice clear mirror, so I will be using this to help with makeup application, even if it is just for reapplying my lip balm.

clothes

This is the Style&Co brand in a size large. I don’t know what it’s called, but it is like a sweater trench coat style. I really love it and it is very warm. I like layering this over a summer top. It is a heavy knit so it keeps you warm. If I get too warm, I can take it off. I cannot wear this over something warm in case I get too warm. A summer top ensures that I can wear this through a while work day. I am wearing this my first day back for sure. This is the piece that I am most excited to wear.

IMG_3318

Jordache Super Skinny Jeans in size 14

I just searched this brand now and saw these jeans for $108. I got a good deal on these! These are super skinny, so even though I am a size 12 now, I needed to get a 14 in order for my ass not to look HUGE in these. I am super happy with these. Finally! I have pants that fit my body super well. No more baggy pants! I used to be a hourglass shape and now, I’m more like a pear with a small waist and big butt and thighs. I need to find cuts that fit with my new shape. It is so hard to find pants that fit at the waist but also have room for larger thighs. I don’t feel like a sausage in these skinnies either. I’m slowly consigning and fading out clothes that no longer fit my shape and never will. It’s hard to let go of clothes….at least for me.

clothing

Anne Taylor in size 8

Good news! I am back into fitting size 8 dresses again, which was my pre-pregnancy dress size. I love this dress and the best part is that it is very work appropriate. I can wear it to meetings and interviews. I don’t like to wear dresses often, but it is nice in the warmer weather to have other options but pants. This dress goes over $100 as well and still has the tags on it. I feel beautiful in it. It’s been a while since I haven’t felt “fat” in my clothing. I think it was from wearing bigger clothes, because I’ve been dropping the weight faster all of a sudden.

IMG_3322

The Great American Sweater Company Concepts in Medium

This sweater is so nice and comfy. It is a nice house sweater, since I’m sure it is too comfy to wear around the office. Maybe if I style it right, I can get away with it. I love the baby pink color and it reminds me a lot of a light blue robe that I used to have as a kid. I cannot use the tie belt, but I still love it open and snuggling into it. I wish there would have been a large, but this was the only one of its kind.

This was part of my Christmas present from my dad. He gave me $100 to spend and I spent $30 at the consignment shop. I’m going to share the other things that I got from Walmart and Sephora in a separate post. Also, my new hair is coming soon. I’m still deciding on a dye. Not many cruelty free options available at the drug store.

VS Haul

Yes, I am finally getting around to showing you my VS haul. I had two $20 off of $40 gift cards and I decided to use them both. I shopped online, but this time, it took TWO WEEKS to ship out and get to me. Like, I got both o my boxes on December 18th and I ordered on it on the 3rd. The good news is that the one clothing item that I bought fits. It is a little big, but I tightened the straps and that seemed to do trick.

My first haul, I only bought 1 thing and I paid $22.50.

VS Satin Romper in Antiquela in Medium

This originally would have been $42.50, so it was a total steal with $20 off. I love the soft purple color and a romper is going to be great in the summer. It’s a shorts and cami combo. I can wear with around the house with a pair of pants and still be decent around my family. It is so comfortable and silky. Hands down my favorite bedtime clothes right now. I love pairing it with my Dr. Seuss Thing 1 and Thing 2 pants.

My second haul, I bought 8 things and I paid $32.52 for a haul that was worth $52.52.

lotion

Pink Coconut Hand Cream, 1.4 fl oz for $5

I bought this hand cream, because I don’t have any and now I have two. It has a pleasant scent and I look forward to trying it out.

wash

Pink Sweet & Flirt 2-in-1 Wash & Scrub, 10.1 fl oz for $4.90

I needed some more body washes and scrubs. This is both, so I think it is a great two in one product and it’ll save time in the shower. I love this scent. The notes are sugar berry and pink grapefruit. It is sweet and a bit tart. It is also purple, which is a huge bonus to me. I should be alright for 2018 now that I have this one and the wash from B&BW. I also have a couple of soaps and a Lush shower jelly. I just didn’t want to be without, but for less than $5, I can forgive myself since it goes for $18 normally.

lotion

Pink Sweet & Flirty Body Lotion, 16.9 fl oz for $7

I didn’t really need a body lotion, but I wanted the matching body lotion and I will use it. I am currently trying to use up my body lotion stash and I hit a slump. I usually can finish an 8 ounce bottle a month. Once the cold weather hit, I haven’t wanted to sit in the cold after a shower or bath and apply body lotion. I need to just suck it up and do it. I know that as soon as it warms up, I’ll be going through my body lotions again. At least, I know that I do clear out at least 6 8 ounce bottles a year. That is 48 fl ounces of lotion a year. Wow. This bottle is almost half that. I should take about 2 months to finish this bottle up. Whenever I use the body wash, I will make sure to use this matching lotion.

face mask

Pink About Last Night Face Mask, 2 for $5

I have never tried a VS face mask before and I was really curious about them. I’ve never spent this much on a face mask, so hopefully I see results. If not, I bought it to try, so it’ll be fun either way.

face mask

Pink Let’s Glow Face Mask, 2 for $5

Again, I bought this for the fun aspect of it. I cannot believe that I spent $10 on 4 sheet masks. It’s that time of year to splurge a little, you know.

VS Martha’s Lip Kit for $15

The liquid lipsticks alone go for $14, so this kit was a no brainer. For just $1 more, I got a lip liner and lip gloss. I got the Velvet Matte liquid lipstick in Adored, the lip pencil in Nearly Nude, and the glitter gloss. I’m a nude lipstick lover, so this will be great. No swatches, because it is my Christmas present to myself. I love the magnetic closure on the box and I’ve never known that VS does makeup before.

That is the end of my VS haul. I hope you guys enjoyed and if you want to see swatches and hear a first impressions on the lip kit or anything that I own, let me know. I’d be happy to give you thoughts with the swatch. Happy Christmas Eve and everyone have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Dean’s Chrisbirthday Present From D

Danielle very graciously bought my son a Christmas and Birthday present. I am very grateful for being gifted with a caring best friend that supports me no matter what decisions I have made in my life. I just hope that I am as great of a friend to her as she is to me, because as far as friends go, she’s pretty amazing.

IMG_1628

This is the cutest little penguin ever! Dean enjoys biting on his beak, which all four of Dean’s first molars have erupted! They are half way through his gums. Now, my little boy has twelve teeth. I think he can only get 8 more, so here’s to many more.

She also bought him Micky Mouse pjs, a fleece one piece, and a Paw Patrol shirt, which Dean adores dearly. I love having a few more new things to put him in. He never seems to have enough clothes, especially since half off his pants are too long. He is short for his age. He wears 9 month old pants and clothes. He is a 14 month old in 9 month old clothes.

We have new books to read to Dean and he has tons of new toys to play with. He is blessed with love and that is what is important. He still has a lot of basic toys though. He doesn’t want for anything. I will happily go without to get Dean something he needs/wants. He loves the little train cars and the shapes. He gnaws on the rubber ducky and tries to eat the books as well. He is attached to his big red Clifford that Danielle had bought him months ago now. He sleeps with him at night. It’s so cute to find him in the morning snuggling with a stuffed animal that is almost as big as he is. Well, that is what Danielle got Dean for his birthday and Christmas. He is a spoiled, sweet boy.

Adore Me!

I have been checking out a Victoria’s Secret like site called Adore Me for over a month now. Right now, they have a buy one get one free sale and I am seriously considering purchasing a couple of sleepwear or lounge wear outfits. I need more adultish clothes now that I’m a mama bear. Here’s a sneak peak at Adore Me’s new collection for Fall:

adore-me

Personally, I would pair a great highlight with this robe. I would add vampy lips to this pj set. This one would look great with a nice smoky eye. This little black outfit would be the one that I would wear a red lip with. Out of all four of these, I’m most likely to pick out the bath robe and the plaid pj pants set. I’m leaning more and more with trying out the VIB membership, which lets you pick out your first set for $19.95 and every set after that is $39.99 which is $10 off of the normal price. After your fifth purchase, your six set is free and you can skip as many months as you want as long as you skip by the 6th in order not to be charged. If you want something that month, let yourself be charged and you have store credit of $39.99 to chose whatever you want. It’s honestly a great subscription service. You can cancel at anytime, so I think that I’ll try them out in December.

What do you think? I have my heart kinda set on that robe. ❤

Birthday & Dean Presents

I recently went over Danielle’s house to spend a few hours and brought my matching accessory Dean with me. Her mom absolutely loves him and Danielle’s grandma bought him some really cute clothes!

Clothes

Clothes

Clothes

Clothes

Clothes

Danielle bought me the best present EVER!!! I haven’t even bought myself a birthday present yet and I’m lucky if my dad remembers my birthday, never mind buy me a present or a card. I’m definitely making an order to Sephora this Friday and requesting my birthday gift! I’m saving up my points for that Bareminerals kit! I might buy from MAC as well…We’ll see…well, here’s what D bought me!!!!

I love my authentic Vera Bradley Tote in Katalina Blues! It is similar to my other tote that I got from the Salvation Army awhile back. It can fit a ton of stuff and I can go to work in style with my pump. I love all of the pockets and the flower design. I just love it! I can now purge my old purse and put everything in this one. I feel a what’s in my purse coming on.

I thought the card was sweet and adorable. As I’m typing this Deano is looking on in my lap. He says that he likes the pretty card, too. It was a very nice touch.

I like this MAC wallet type thing. I’m going to use mine for holding my pads and other feminine hygiene on the go products. It’s the perfect size and very stylish.

Face Mask

I am a huge fan of face masks and I really love these cloth kinds. Red Wine?! Sign me up. This is about the only alcohol my skin will be drinking up these days. I love the pink packaging.

This lippie color is pink on me without being too pink. It is the perfect color and it actually shows up on my lips! Which not a lot of light colors do. It’s the prefect neutral pink to go with everything and I feel comfortable wearing it to work. Once I finish off my pot of orange korean gloss that is. A very neutral color for work 🙂 It is such a nice and creamy formula. It is surprisingly not really glossy, just a slight sheen to the lips that dries down matte.

I am hoping to paint my nails sometime soon and this would be the perfect color. It is a nail treatment, so it is a great base or in my case, a great standalone if the color comes out the way I’m hoping it will. If I manage to paint my nails, I’ll have a Manicure Monday up this week or next. I’m hoping I’ll be able to paint my nails. I’ll make a deal with my dad, so I can have the 30 minutes to paint and dry. I’ll clean the bathroom….I think that would be a good trade off and of course, I would clean first. Don’t want to ruin a well deserved manicure!

hand cream

I can always use a good hand cream. I’m almost out of my Victoria Secret’s Body/hand lotion in a mini bottle. This will replace it nicely. My hands really need the moisture now that I clean bottles and the dishes more than I  used to. I do a lot more chores, now that my dad watches my son while I’m at work It’s a worthwhile trade off since I don’t have to worry about childcare. Honestly though, my dad still does most of the house work. It’s tough to work, nourish a child, and get little things done on little sleep.

IMG_0393

A nice little perfume sample to round out my present. I love to try high end perfumes.

Thank you so much D! I love everything, but you know that. 🙂

Nursing Mom Clothing Haul

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

It is so hard to find clothes to fit when you are nursing a two month old. I was shopping for tops for work and at home that would make nursing and pumping easier for me and less of a clothing hassle. I hate shoving his head up my shirt and I fear that the humid air from being trapped in my shirt cuts nursing sessions short, making them more frequent than they have to be. I don’t mind throwing a cover over myself when nursing my son when my dad is around, but I wanted a way to nurse that wouldn’t make my friends uncomfortable. I am fully comfortable nursing my son in front of friends and relatives, but I would never do it in public. That’s just not me. I get limited time to pump at work, so I need clothes that are easy to push aside. I don’t have time to take off layers and put them back on and straighten myself out. That is a few minutes too many. If I have 15 minutes, I want to use twelve minutes on the actual pumping, not ten minutes. At lunch, I’ll be able to pump for 27 minutes and I’ll have 15 minutes left to see my baby. On Mondays, I have an extra 15 minutes to pump as well. The rest of the days, I just have my paid break and lunch.

Let’s get onto the haul!

Macy’s: This baby haul came to $20 USD total, because everything was on clearance. Macy’s is really great for their clearance.

Carter’s Sleepy Sack in 0-9 months:

I love these sleepy sacks! They are great during the Winter time for Dean to sleep in. He can now roll over on his own, so no more swaddling. This is the next best thing and I don’t have to worry about his feet getting cold. It keeps him all warm and snugly. I also love the cute prints as well. The zipper feature is great as well for middle of the morning/night changes. They are ultra soft and Dean seems to enjoy wearing them.

zipper onsie

Carter’s Terry Cloths Onsie in 9 months:

Dean is my little dinosaur and now he can dress like one. I like putting him in this night and day. It soaks up the night sweats and the sweat in the day from the heat in the apartment. We sit on top of the boiler, so it can get hot without the heat on. This is nice and big on him, which helps prevent heat rash from sweating. He has been getting a heat rash/moisture rash from sweat. It is a lot better than it was before. It disappeared off his back and face. It is a bit on his chest, but mostly on his arms. I think it is because he is chubby and the sleeves tend to be a little tight on the arm, resulting in sweat collection. I believe this terry cloth has helped to promote healing of the rash. Again, zippers are my friend.

winter onsie

Carter’s Plush Onsie in 9 months:

My dad spotted this one and it is very plush. This outfit is great for taking your little one out and about. I have a winter blanket thing that attaches to the infant car seat, but when he outgrows the car seat (He is already 11lbs and the car seat only goes up to 20lbs), this would be nice and warm to wear out in the convertible car seat. I also like that it says “Little Guy” on it. I’m always about buying things that fit now and later. He has so much 3 month and 3 to 6 clothes! I have three drawer out of six filled with his clothes! I decided to consign a bunch of my clothes and all the good things that he outgrows. I’m going down with my first batch today. I’ll let you guys know how it goes!

Target: My dad and I both bought clothes here.

denim tunic

Liz Lange Maternity For Target Denim Tunic in Indigo in XXL for $24.99 USD:

I was hesitant to buy this, because I always question buying myself clothes. I knew I needed to buy some new tops though. My boobs made that really apparent. None of my current tops really work for my nursing sized chest. So, new tops was a given. I didn’t get any pants though, because I’m still in my fattest maternity jeans. I get to start an exercise routine tomorrow, so I’m hopefully that I will shed off some pounds in my thighs and butt. I have lost thirty five pounds out of the sixty I gained. I only want to lose twenty pounds. I heard five extra pounds is good for nursing. I’m not in a hurry to lose. I can take my time. It took 10 months to gain. I don’t mind if it takes that long to lose. I really love this top. It is soft and long enough to cover my butt. I plan on wearing this with leggings or skinny pants. I always wanted a denim shirt and this one fits beautifully. I was discouraged at Sears, when none of the tops fit in the Junior section. I guess they think that young people cannot have large chests or something. The button down is a great feature for nursing or pumping at work.

Motherhood Maternity: I spent over $200 USD here. Nursing clothes are EXPENSIVE!

Motherhood Intimates in 36 E in Black and Nude for $24.98 USD Each:

I got one in nude and black. Sorry, I don’t share pictures of my intimates any more. The best basic colors. My older nursing bras that I bought before birth were too small after my milk came in and regulated. I think it was one of the reasons why I got mastitis in my right breast. I love the lacy design and the clip down design. I needed to get a wire supported bra, which leaves marks when I clip the bra down to nurse. It fits comfortably though. I never had a more comfortable wire bra before. There isn’t much more to say, except I miss my bright colored fun bras that I no longer fit into and have to wait over a year to possibly fit back into again. le sigh

Simple Wishes Hands Free Breast Pump Bra in Baby Pink in I/XL for $34.98 USD:

I love the baby pink color and how well this bra works with any pump. I used this with my electric double pump and my electric single handheld pump. It allows me to be hands free to use my lap top or kindle. It is comfortable, but not as supportive as a nursing bra. I would use this one Mondays at work, where I have to pump three times and have to be a real stickler about the time. Mondays are busy where I work. I have no complaints and I see the value in the money.

Motherhood Maternity Nursing Mock Wrap Top in Navy & Gray in Large for $29.98 USD

Yes, I paid thirty dollars for a nursing top. The prices may be a bit insane, but I did purchase large sizes for my large chest and these have special functions that regular tops just don’t have. You can pull down the grey built in undershirt under one breast and put your child underneath the two wrap layers. Nursing is discreet with nothing to see. This also works well for pumping. The material is very soft and overall, this was worth the thirty. It was just a big shock on how expensive this stuff is, but then again, I’ve seen plenty of clothes at other places be just as expensive. I’m just not use to buying items full priced.

Motherhood Maternity Nursing Tang Top in Navy & White in XL for Free!

There was a clearance sale of buy two get one for free, so this was my free item. It was originally $24.98 USD and reduced to $14.99 USD. I like the side ruching detail and the pull down nursing feature. It is great to put underneath other non-nursing clothes to still get a nursing feature out of it. Fifteen dollars for a tang top is still a lot in my opinion. Oh! All these nursing shirts have elastic underneath the girls for support while nursing.

Motherhood Maternity Button Down Tunic in Grey & White Pinstripes in XL for $24.99 USD

This shirt was originally $34.98 USD. Since I paid 25 for that other shirt, I don’t consider this a high price to pay. I wasn’t a big fan of it at first, but I love the way I look in it. It sheds off pounds and is very figure flattering with the tie waist feature. It is prettier on than on the rack, that is for sure! It is a stiffer, starchier material than I am used to. I’m trying to have a more appropriate adult wardrobe to be taken more seriously and hey, I have a son now. This fits right in there. I’m still going to have fun with some cool prints and sexy dresses, but I want a more adult style…or more like a young 24 year old would wear who has a kid. Still young but mature at the same time. If you know what I mean.

Motherhood Maternity Plus in Plaid in 2X for $34.99 USD

I’m noticing that I bought a ton of tunics, but seriously, it is the most flattering on my figure right now and let’s me get away with wearing jeans that right now, are a little too tight to wear with a shorter shirt. I love this cotton soft tunic! It is in a magenta, purple, blue plaid that is simply gorgeous. This originally went for $44.98 USD. It was expensive, but this was the only size that fit my chest comfortably in this style. It may be large, but it fits perfectly on my shoulders and is very comfortable. Again, having a tie waist feature is very figure flattering.

Motherhood Maternity Nursing Cami in Coral Pink in Large for $26.98 USD

Yes, I paid that much for a cami with a built in bra. It is crazy expensive, but very comfortable. It has the clip down feature and is great to wear around the house. I would wear a bra with it, when out and about in it. It isn’t enough support for that. It is the right amount for leisure time at home. This has the ruched siding details on each side as well. I love the bright color and how comfortable it is. I’m all about the comfort these days.

JCPenny’s: I actually found a few regular tops that fit.

St. John’s Bay Short Sleeve Crew in American Navy in Large for $14.00 USD

There was a buy one get one free and I didn’t realize that clearance was excluded from the promotion. So, I will be returning this and buying two again so I can get the second one for free. This way, I can also use my coupon that I earned for 10 USD off of 25 USD on a jewelry purchase. This is a great undershirt to go underneath my navy polka dot shirt.

St. John’s Bay Long Sleeve Crew in Chic Pink in Large for $4.79 USD

This was clearance from $16 USD, which is 70% off. I got this to go underneath the pink shirt. I have started to really love pink, especially bright ones. There is just something special about this color that I love.

St. John’s Bay Polka Dot Blouse in Shocking Pink Dot & Navy Dot in XL for $18 USD Each

I got the same blouses in two different colors that is how much I love them! They fit really great. These were buy one get one free, making them 18 each. These ones makes my stomach look thinner as well. This has been long winded, so I’ll end my haul here.

Consignment Shopping!

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

I went shopping for maternity clothes last week and found a few great pieces to add to my wardrobe. Some of the clothes will still work after pregnancy as well, so that’s a plus. The first store I went to was the Salvation Army and it wasn’t what I was expecting. It was HUGE and had such a large variety of everything. I was simply amazed and the prices couldn’t be beat either. It smelled dirty and like cigarettes though. I felt bad for the homeless people hanging out in there. I will be going back next week for more clothes for my dad. He got two pairs of jeans and one was from J Crew. It was 138 USD full price and he got it for 5 dollars. You cannot beat it, when you have a hard time affording quality clothes. I wish I would have gone sooner. The polka dot top comes with a built in tang top. I bought all of the items for 29 dollars, including my dad’s two pairs of jeans.

The last store I went to was called The Victorian Rose. It is a vintage consignment shop and the old ladies who run the place were very helpful. I got a lot of great finds for a great affordable price. The prices were just as low as the Salvation Army, which I wasn’t expecting, especially since I found two designer finds. I got a lighter wash version of the really dark jeans that I bought at the Salvation Army, but they are in the wash so no picture on that pair. Instead of the black tummy piece it has a tan tummy piece with the light jean wash. The pastel banana yellow blazer is by Anne Klein and the dress is a BCBG dress by Max Azria. The black top from Tokyo comes with a built in camisole. I bought everything for 17 USD.

I absolutely love everything that I got and will now be comfortable in my pants. I can make so many outfits with all of these clothes, while being in comfort. Some of my own clothes still work, so the possibilities are endless. Do you shop consignment?

With Love,

Selena
