Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

This was super delicious and easy to make. I had all of the ingredients easily on hand. This recipe also only took like 5 minutes to make for four servings (It filled out two 15 oz mugs pretty well, but I do like my smoothies thick). This is a delicious filling snack or as a breakfast replacement. It has a good amount of protein and fat to energize your brain. The recipe calls for honey, but I didn’t have any on hand. My smoothie still came out fantastic without it and I added in vanilla yogurt for some extra thickness.

Ingredients:

• 2 bananas, broken into chunks
• 2 cups milk
• 1/2 cup peanut butter
• 2 tablespoons honey, or to taste
• 2 cups ice cubes

Directions:

Place bananas, milk, peanut butter, honey, and ice cubes in a blender; blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.

Well, there you have it! A simple, but delicious smoothie recipe. Simple altercations and you could have a ton of variations of this like adding berries to it or agave syrup instead.

Equate Pediatric Electrolyte Solution

These are so much cheaper than the name brand stuff and Dean loved the flavor. It kept him hydrated and satisfied when he caught a stomach bug and had constant diarrhea for a week after puking so much so often that he ended up in the hospital. I would and did buy it again (about 4 bottles during that time). I also have some left over single serving bottles for when something similar happens again. He is a child, so I know that it will. I hate seeing him sick, but he did a whole lot better drinking this drink and I felt better knowing he was getting all the vitamins and minerals that he needed. During this time, he didn’t eat anything but a couple of bites of crackers.

April Empties

Another month checked of of my calendar and we are officially in my birthday month. I am super excited to be getting my birthday treats and having a great second Mother’s day. I cannot wait for the day that Dean makes me Mother’s Day gifts from school. Speaking of school, that will be a big topic for me next year in regards to Dean. I was discussing it with his EI Speech therapist and I realized that he won’t be in mainstream classes. Since Dean is nonverbal, he will have different goals than the other kids and after kindergarten, will be separated and put in the “special” classroom with the other children that have autism, down syndrome, and mental handicaps. Part of me is glad that he won’t be made fun of and the other part of me is sad that he’ll be segregated from neurotypicals. I have very mixed and raw feelings about this right now.

Another month gone and another month’s worth of empties. We are getting very close to my birthday month and my vacation month. My dad is having foot surgery and I will be taking a month off of work to take care of him and my son. This year is really flying by. Why couldn’t high school have flown by as much as time seems to do nowadays? Seriously. Time goes by so slow when you are young with no money and when you actually grow up and can spend, time flies by so much you don’t really get the chance to do what you want to do. I might be adjusting the challenge and make it harder. I guess, it all depends upon how much of this stuff I am using up.

December Empties

Instead of saying another month gone, I’ll say another year gone this time around. I believe the older you are, the faster time seems to go by. Time never went by this fast when I was in high school. It only ever went fast when I was actually enjoying my life. Now, days that drag and days that fly, all seem to go at the same pace. Sounds cliche and maybe it is but it is also the truth. I would never go back in time. I want to always be moving forward, never going back. For the new year empties, I am going to be trying a new style of empty posts. December was a light month for me and January is already looking better. I have been decluttering some makeup products here and there that are just not good anymore. As I go throughout the year, I plan on decluttering anything that I don’t like that I know are recent products to friends and anything else can and will be thrown away. Hey guys! Another month gone and Christmas and Dean’s birthday are right around the corner. I had quite a few empties this month, so I was very impressed. August Empties

Well, better late than never, huh? I was busy over Labor Day weekend and it didn’t leave much time for blogging. I’ve been trying to get a lot of posts scheduled to go up this weekend and next week. There are so many posts that I want to write, plus a lot of products are piling up in my basket to review. I have a very busy end of year for me. There are so many appointments for Dean to go to and my dad is having foot surgery at the end of the year. I’m going to get in as much blogging as I can, because I might be off and one at the end of the year. I’m taking time off to take care of my dad and Dean, because he won’t be able to take care of Dean for a bit. This is such a busy year for me. Also, it has been the most productive year as well.

I decided to sign up for the next Insurance course to get an Associates degree in Insurance Data Analytics. I’ll be getting my books in a couple of weeks. I might be blogging less. I’m going to take the exam sometime in Jan to March, which is my exam window and I get to chose the day and time to take it. Two Associates degrees kinda equal 1 BA degree right? I didn’t get to interview for that job, strictly on the basis of no BA. Talk about discrimination in the workforce.

I basically felt degraded by the HR manager that talked to me about having no degree and once I told her that I had an Associates degree (in the job description it said you could have an Associates with 4 to 6 years of documented work HISTORY, not specific work experience), she said I needed a BA and work experience to get this job. Quote: “You don’t go from down here to up here. Do you understand?” Oh, I understood perfectly. You just didn’t want to give me a chance to prove that you don’t need a formal education to work in IT.

Not as many empties this month, but still quite a bit. I already have quite a few for September, so I think I will have more empties for this month. I am glad to be using up more of my collection. Eventually, I would like to buy some new stuff that I have been DYING to try. I’m really trying not to be a hoarder and to use and enjoy what I have. I think I have been very successful, despite splurging for my birthday and tax money treat. I need to treat myself sometimes, right? I’ll be treating myself to clip in hair extensions soon enough. I’m embracing my darker, natural hair color. No more bleach. No more blonde. Just…..me.

For Celestial Seasons Candy Cane Lane Green Tea

This has to be my favorite seasonal tea flavor. It is a sweet mint with a hint of vanilla. I don’t need any added sugar with this tea. It is sweet enough on its own. Celestial Seasons is my favorite brand of tea, because I just enjoy more of the flavors than any other brand. If you haven’t tried this, then do you live under a rock? It is seriously amazing and if you like Christmas teas, than you really need to try this. I drank this tea a lot during the end of my pregnancy. It was a serious craving of mine and holds sentimental value to me now. I have to have a box every year. Once I see it on the shelf, I know that Dean’s birthday is around the corner and Christmas! I look forward to this tea every year and I could never get sick of it.
