Sephora Birthday Kit

The most wonderful time of the year, besides Christmas of course, where you can get freebies at all of your favorite stores. I have another freebie from Victoria Secrets to cash in, plus my free large from DDs coupon. I love my birthday month and my birthday happens to land on Mother’s day this year. I’ll be getting a bonus lunch for Mother’s Day too in my birthday month. I don’t like going on the actual day, though. Too crowded to enjoy a nice quite lunch with the two men in my life. There will be so many hauls this month, so I am sorry if you don’t like hauls. This one is just a mini. I actually just went into Sephora for my birthday gift. That’s it. I was in and out and boy! Did that take a lot of will power. I told myself, you don’t NEED anything…and we are going to Marshalls. 🙂

I just love that little black and white striped bag! I have a little collection of them now, because I like to reuse them for gift bags. I mean, why not? It is a free bag that I keep in good condition to reuse. There were three different gifts you could choose and I chose a CF one. Can you guess it? Yup. The Bite Beauty Kit.

In this free Birthday kit, you get a sample of the Agave sugar lip scrub and lip balm. Oh, yes, to address my swatch photo, that is my new grey hair and I love it. I will have a post going up soon about how I got my new grey hair and in the direct light, my grey is SO light. It is very pretty and I love it. Moving on, on my lips and swatched on the bottom of my hand is Bite’s Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Glace and it is my favorite nude mauve color. Absolutely beautiful on the lips. I would for sure wear this at work. It is a darker your lips but better sort of color. On the top of my hand with a bit of a brown/orange tone is Bite’s Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai. I have yet to use it, but it looks like a color that I would wear as well.

I am so happy with my little birthday kit and now, I have two new lippies to play around with. I can see going through Glace SO fast that I know it will be gone by the end of the year. I now have three minis from Bite beauty and they all have this sweet candy citris scent with nice velvet Nars like packaging. I just love the aesthetic and I can see myself purchasing more from this CF brand.

With Love,

Selena

A Double Review Special: Hydration Mask & True Glow Eye Cream

For *Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask

What it is:

A face mask boosting collagen production, increasing skin radiance, reducing fine lines, and securing skin moisture.

Key Ingredients:

Japanese green tea, aloe vera, organic rosehip seed oil, silk protein amino acid blend, botanical hylauronic acid, organic sea buckthorn oil, and water. It is 98% natural, suitable for all skin types, cruelty free, alcohol and paraben free, and made in the USA.

How it feels/smells/looks:

The mask has the the color and texture of custard. It feels cool going onto the skin and begins to tingle but not sting. My face was a bit red after removing the mask, but cleared up within a couple of minutes. It smells like elementary school to me: like pencil shavings. The smell actually brings back found memories, so I do not mind the odd smell.

Why I like it:

This face mask is very interesting and different. I have never tried a hydrating face mask before, because I have oily skin and never thought that I needed extra hydration. Since having a baby, my skin has been a bit on the drier side and losing that fresh glow my face always had. I applied this mask on to cover my whole face. This gave my face a jaundice glow while wearing it, completing freaking my dad out at first. I enjoyed the pamper feeling that masks give me and I enjoyed this on at the full 30 minutes recommended. After removing the mask, I did feel that my face looked brighter and softer. I cannot comment on reducing fine lines, but my skin did look instantly better after using. I did find that the next day this did give my skin a small rash. I’m hoping cutting down the time applied to fifteen minutes will allow me to enjoy the mask without the rash. My skin is not sensitive, so I wouldn’t recommend this mask to people with sensitive skin. This mask definitely does make your skin look instantly better and radiant.

For *Valentia True Glow Eye Cream

What it is:

An intensive corrective eye treatment that reduces wrinkles, nourishes and hydrates, tightens eye area, brightens dark circles, and restores radiance.

Key Ingredients:

Astanxanthin, resistem, vitamin C, organic rosehip oil, amica, water, and honeysuckle. It is 98% natural, suitable for all skin types, cruelty free, alcohol and paraben free, and made in the USA.

How it feels/smells/looks:

This cream is orange colored and light weight. It sinks into the skin right away and feels slightly cooling. It smells like oranges as well. I really love the packaging and how expensive the product looks. It is also nice that the bottle is glass and tinted to best preserve all of the good, natural ingredients.

Why I like it:

I have been using this eye cream at night ever since I got this product in the mail. It has a great light orange scent as I apply the product. It sinks right in which allows me to continue onto my facial moisturizer without having to wait for it to sink in. I definitely do feel a tightening effect when I use this product, but only time will tell if it brightens my hereditary dark circles.  I enjoy using this product and will look into trying out more products from Valentia. Twenty-five dollars does not seem too expensive for a quality product that I  enjoy. I would say to be careful when applying this. I got a tiny bit of this cream on my lower lash line and it burned and irritated my eye. It was not a pleasant experience, but as long as you are careful, it shouldn’t irritate.

G’Mornin’ Eye Cream!

For *OZ Naturals Super Youth Eye Gel

What it is:

An eye gel that delivers dramatically radiant and youthful eyes, eliminates dark circles and puffiness, and soothes and softens the eye area.

Key Ingredients:

Organic Aloe, kosher vegetable glycerin, plant stem cells, cucumber hydrosol, organic jojoba oil, botanical hyaluronic acid, silk amino acid blend, wildcrafted periwinkle, organic licorice, frankincense, vitamin E, matrixyl 3000, and peptide complex. It is also 75% organic.

How it feels/smells/looks:

The eye gel is thick and clear. It feels amazingly cooling on the skin and I love the slight cucumber scent. The gel takes a few minutes to skin in, but it feels like I put on an eye mask. It is that cooling. It is easy to blend into the skin and one pump is enough to use on both eyes.

Why I like it:

I have been using this product every morning since I received it in the mail. I have only been using this on my eye area, but the box does state that you can use this product all over the face to target fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness. I have used this underneath my makeup and I have to say that you do have to wait about 5 minutes or so for the gel to dry down. It is still slightly sticky/tacky, which I found helped my concealer stay on longer than it usually does. I find that it works similar to a primer in that aspect. It felt very soothing on the skin, but I did not notice any softening. That area is pretty soft to begin with on my face. I cannot make any comments on how it performs with wrinkles, since I’m only 23. It did make my eyes look less tired though and brighter. My eyes were less puffy (I sometimes cry in my sleep) and I think I see an improvement in my dark circles. I’ll have to use this product longer to be certain though. Overall, I really enjoy using this product and feel like I am getting more results than not using anything. I will be looking forward to trying more products from this affordable brand.
