September Project 200 Pan

It is the end of October, so you know that I am finally getting around to telling you what I used up last September. If you have read my 15 to Jess post, then you know that I am up to 115 out of 200 items. I only have 75 more things to use up by the end of the year. Now, I know that this is very much of a stretch. I would have to use up (not including September) 25 items in October, November, and December. I really do not use up that many items in a month. I thought that I could do it, because in the beginning, I had so many minis. As the year went on, items started to decrease in numbers and I am very happy to have gotten rid of a bulk of the clutter. I am happy with my current number 115, but I want to still push for that 200. I’m not going to use things for the sake of an empty though. I am using my items and enjoying most of them.

MAKEUP:

IMG_4250

116/200 I painted my toe nails this bright red orange from Julep in the shade Gloria from the Bombshell collection. I will be keeping this for the toes. It is more red than I like for my fingers. Painting my nails is a miracle which is why I’m counting it as an empty to motivate myself to paint my nails more. Next year, I am actually having 2 nail polishes in my finish 19 in 2019. This shade will not make it in there though since I can only use it on my toes. It is a pretty color though.

BODY CARE:

KODAK Digital Still Camera

120/200 I am not counting Dean’s Shampoo/Body Wash as he goes through them pretty regularly. I finished off two of my dad’s body scrubs. He leaves a lot in there, because he doesn’t want to work hard to get the last bits out. I get roughly two weeks of body scrub out of each bottle that he wants to throw out. I count them, because I am not using my own body wash most of the month. My dad never liked this lotion. I finally finished this huge bottle. I used it at night after a bath/shower, because it is unscented. I like to use scented body lotion during the day. I FINALLY used up my Bio-oil from my pregnancy days. This did nothing for my current stretch marks, but it did help against stretch marks during pregnancy. I didn’t get any stretch marks until I started to loose the baby weight. That is how I got my original stretch marks from my teen days. Any time I lose a lot of weight fast, I get stretch marks. I really want to try a stretch mark cream and a cellulite one, because I have both thanks to Dean. 🙂

HAIR CARE:

KODAK Digital Still Camera

124/200 Hair care was where it was at this month. I redid my grey hair, although it is looking more brown toned than the icy grey that I was getting before. This is the last time that I am doing grey, because I think I will need to lighten my hair again. I’m going to do a smoky blue and maybe a purple. Since I have this darker ash vibe, I still want to play with color and maybe I can be a bit more vibrant but dark at the same time. I finished a one time use foil packet of a hair mask and it was okay. I used up this scalp scrub that I did not understand and all it did was dry up my hair. The Infusium 23 I received from Influenster for review purposes and I really didn’t care for it. I am sad that my Aussie conditioner is done. It is my favorite conditioner, but they are not CF. No repurchases in this category for me.

SKIN CARE:

KODAK Digital Still Camera

126/200 I got the little deluxe sized sample of bronzing face lotion from Danielle and I really liked it. It gave a natural tan look to my face and never looked orange or fake. I didn’t care for the Kiehl’s face gel. It wasn’t moisturizing enough and I don’t think it did anything for my acne. It also pilled up ANYTHING applied underneath it. I ended up using this on my legs and it helped with razor bumps. There are cheaper things you can purchase for that though than this moisturizer. I really want to try their midnight recovery oil/serum thing. I’m not turned off by the brand. I just don’t like this product.

MISCELLANEOUS:

KODAK Digital Still Camera

I finished up two pens. Both my favorite: PaperMate Ink Joy pens, but the orange is the gel pen. I am IN LOVE with the gel pens. I will repurchase another pack once I’m down to my last few ones. They have lasted two semesters so far with only one causality out of 10 pens. We finished up a mini toothpaste from the dentist and a pack of 100 cotton rounds. I am currently working on a huge bag of cotton balls. We don’t use them and they just sit. Honestly, I don’t see much of a difference between the two. I might switch to cotton balls, since it is more cost effective.

126/200 That is not bad for the end of September and nine months into my year long pan project. October isn’t looking too promising, so I think ideally, I would want to hit at least 150 to 175. 200 is looking farther and farther away. I’ll be relooking through my collection. I think there is one more color corrector that I need to declutter, but I pretty much did most of my decluttering already of items that I am not a fan of. I might be resubbing to Sephora PLAY in 2020 if my 2019 project pan goes well. That was my favorite sub box and I have been keeping an eye out in case I wanted to buy any months after the fact.

Selena

June Empties

I am sorry again with the late post. I don’t have nearly as much time for my blog as I used it. I still get the joy of blogging and I love it. I just can only do it an hour every Sunday and maybe squeeze in 30 minutes on my other day off. Believe it or not, I can get about 3 posts done in an hour and not skimpy ones either. I am not going to say how fast June has gone, because July is almost gone right now. June is a distant memory right now. I am a fan of lengthy intros in case anyone is wondering. I like to get my thoughts out there before I get to the point.

That is a total of 13 empties this month. I have a feeling that the trend of less empties will continue for the rest of the year. I don’t know how I am going to finish up 200 items now. I really need to step up my game and start reaching for products that I can hit pan on. I should also really work on my lip collection as well. I could probably empty a couple of those in August if I really try. July’s basket seems to be a bit empty, so I might have less than this month. I won’t really know until I count them out. I am going to shift my focus to makeup now that I have some of my skincare under control. I don’t have time for eye make when I go to work, so I will be focusing on base and lip products. I will make a better effort to do my eye makeup when I am at home. It is time to get serious, so I can drop some serious dough on makeup next year.

Beauty, Haul, Lifestyle

Bought Recently

I wanted to show you what I have picked up lately. It is not real exciting stuff, but just stuff that I needed to restock on. I promise that I don’t usually buy a ton of stuff. It just seems that way from all of the posts that I have been putting off making of stuff that I have purchased months ago. Like still in their boxes stuff that I haven’t touched, because I am all like I am going to haul that stuff. I don’t feel like I should touch it to remind myself to write the post. LOL. Also, usually it takes me months to put together a post like this, because I don’t buy for myself very often. I just don’t have the money to.

Crest 3D White LUXE Diamond Strong Toothpaste

toothpaste

I needed a new toothpaste and this one is a well known brightener and strengthen the enamel on your teeth. I do notice that my teeth are whiter, but I would need the whitening strips to get a really white smile. I might get the smallest white strips kit, because I just want to boost my smile. This toothpaste is great though and I really enjoy it. I would not actively repurchase this. I only bought it, because Tom’s was out of stock. Crest is not bunny approved, which is why I only bought it when my other option was out of stock. Hopefully, they are in stock next time I need toothpaste.

L’Oreal Colorista in Pink

This is a semi permanent hair color that washes out within a dozen shampoos. I used it on my brassy blonde ends and it looked more burnt red than pink. When I get bored of my grey, I will use it on my non-brassy white blonde hair to give it a proper review.

Alba Botanica Acne Dote Toner

toner

I really enjoy this toner and it is cruelty free. I am going to see what else my Marshall has today on my day off. I am also stopping at Sephora for my birthday gift. I would rebuy this toner for the $5 that I spent on it. I need to see if they have anything with less alcohol in it though. I don’t find this too drying on my oil skin but my skin has been less oily more combination lately.

Thermos Thermocafe

IMG_3583

I needed a good thermos for bringing my coffee to work or the shakes that I make at home. It is also great for holding smoothies as well. I just needed something for when I want to do the extra effort.

Not Your Mother’s Blonde Moment Treatment Shampoo

IMG_3724

So, I already shared with you that I accidentally got the conditioner instead of the shampoo. Now, I finally have the shampoo and I do like it. I use it every time I wash my hair which is once to twice a week. I do my Shimmer Lights treatment once a week where I leave it on for 30 minutes to maintain my non brassy hair. I do like this cruelty free brand and will repurchase this set in the future. I also want to get the leave in spray in this line once I run out of some leave in conditioner that I am already using.

That is it for this little recap haul. As you can see, most of these things I can write little review on them, I have had them for so long. I am using Dean’s nap to my advantage by writing on my blog. I don’t like to take time away from him when he is awake. One of the many reasons why I am so happy he naps in his own bed now and not with me. I love it when he takes a nap with me when I have a migraine. Nothing like a little warm body next to you to make you feel better.

EVERPRO BACK2BLONDE

For EVERPRO BACK2BLONDE Temporary Root Concealer

We all need a little concealer, right? That’s why I signed up to try out this blonde root concealer from EVERPRO through BrandBacker. I bleached my hair blonde back in May and while my locks may not be the typical blonde (its more on the brassy strawberry side), I love it a lot. What I didn’t love was having to go to the salon and pay the same amount of money to get my roots done. My hair is a bit damaged from the bleach and the last thing that I want to do is overlap bleach while doing my roots resulting in even more damage.

This is where EVERPRO comes in. My roots are dark blonde to light brown and since I haven’t gotten my hair done since May, my roots are long and showing. Now, I don’t mind a little bit of dark root showing, but I figured that a root concealer would be a good thing to have for when I want less roots showing. EVERPRO is a brand whose mission is to offer innovative solutions to unique hair concerns and offers professional-grade salon formulas for use in the privacy of your own home. No need to go to a salon and waste hundreds of dollars for blonde roots.

EVERPRO has to sub brands: GRAY AWAY and BACK2BLONDE. I obviously chose the BACK2BLONDE for my root coverage. I don’t have enough grays yet! The best part is that this color is temporary, so it washes out in the shower. I don’t have to worry about damaging my hair, but I still get blonde roots. I chose the medium blonde color and the swatch is below on my hand.

I love that this product comes in an aerosol can, but I still had a learning curve on how best to apply this product. This video was really helpful and I finally got the hang of it. I find that this takes me about 5 to 10 minutes to apply depending upon how much coverage I want for that day or what hairstyle I am sporting. I love that I don’t have to limit my hairstyles, because of unsightly roots. Now, I can part my hair and cover the roots. I don’t have to worry about how dark my roots are compared to the rest of my hair.

Now, to show you the results of BACK2BLONDE!

Here are some glamorous Before Photos:

Here are some half Before/After Photos with half of my roots done with the product:

Here is the Before & After side by side in the same lighting:

You can purchase this product for 12.99 HERE. It honestly makes a HUGE difference. My hair looks blonder with the product on and it looks darker without it. Amazing! I will be repurchasing after I use this one up.

The Final Verdict: Prell

For Prell Shampoo

shampoo

What it is: A rich, stripping shampoo that will take out your unwanted color fast and take out the buildup from stylers.

Key Ingredients: I see two sulfates and added fragrance. This is way too harsh, now that I am satisfied with my darker hair color (I died it jet black and it was too Gothic. Now, it is just a dark brown.) I might be going lighter to a golden chestnut brown, which is more of my natural color anyway. I kind of want to go back to it…I miss the old me. I am also going to be donating my hair to Locks of Love in honor of Becky. A close friend of mine who is battling lung tumors, who never smoked a day in her life besides the occasional pot. Please pray for Becky. I am doing these changes through the next month. So, stay tuned for that as well.

How it feels/smells/looks: It is a gooey, gel-like green jello shampoo. It lathers up like crazy with nice foamy bubbles and it smells very pleasant. Now that I am done with it, I will be trying something a bit more gentle to get the buildup out of my hair. I am leaning towards another Lush or Sephora haul. What do you guys think?

Why I like it: I really liked the product, because it did break down the color in my hair that I was unsatisfied with and for that, I am very grateful that this product did work. Now that I am done with it, it would be much too harsh for what I need it to do. If you are looking for something to be really stripping then Prell is the answer to your prayers. The fat that it is also really cheap like a couple of bucks is great as well when you are looking for this type of shampoo.
