October 200 Pan

In September, we left off at 126/200 and now, we get to see our total for October. If I finished 10 items this month, it would be a lot. I don’t even think that I have that many empties. I am not discouraged though, because I still have two months until the end of the year and I think that I will still be able to knock off a few more things. I won’t make it to 200, but over 100 is more than I ever thought that I could do. I am still so proud of myself. When I see room in my backup stash, it makes me so happy to soon have that space back to store other things besides products collecting dust. On a side note, I am in my element right now. I have written so many blog posts to try to keep ahead of the curve and I just had so many ideas. Now, I feel a bit emptier and less stuff is on my mind. But anyway, I am happy to see that my backups are not squished together anymore, but have plenty of room. I will not fill up that space though.

SKINCARE:

130/200 I have four items here and I am counting all of them. I have a full pack of the Aveeno Baby hand and face wipes complimentary of Influenster and they were very nice. They are expensive, but if you have the money, they are the perfect morning face wipe. I finished two deluxe sized eye creams. One was my day gel and the other was my night cream. I also used up my month’s supply of Curology. I just got my 2 month supply bottle. I will be reviewing this on my blog soon, so stay tuned. Sneak peek, I LOVE it.

MAKE UP:

132/200 I also finished up 1 lip balm and I decluttered this Nude Stix lip crayon that left white residue around the inside of my mouth. It also wore terribly and flaked away. Not to mention that the color was all wrong for my skin coloring. Not too bad on the lip front with two more out of my collection. Maybe, I can get one or two out again by the end of the year. I go through lip products and I have a good stash of them. I enjoy buying the Sephora Favorites kits to refresh my supply. I rarely buy a full size. I mostly go for mini sets, because they are the better deal and I love trying new lippies.

HAIR CARE:

133/200 I finished up one deluxe sized can of dry shampoo and two packets of hair conditioner that I use to shave my legs with. These conditioner packets come with my dad’s hair dye and I use them. I have separate conditioner that I like to use for my hair, so these are perfect for using for shaving where I don’t care what kind it is. I am going to be buying pricier hair care that is CF, so I will not be using my expensive conditioner on my legs. If I ever use up my back stash, I will buy a cheap conditioner to use for my legs. I have one more can of dry shampoo and then, I will attempt to use up my Lush one again.

BODY CARE:

135/200 Wow. I actually did have ten empties! That really surprises me! I am pleasantly surprised. I used up my B&BW Sweet Pea Body Spray. We used this as a bathroom freshener. Dean really stinks up the house when he goes number 2. I have been going through all of my sprays this way. I am consistently going through 1 a year. I used up one last year and now, this one for this year. I am currently working on a VS one in the Fresh and Clean scent. It is a rarity that I use up a body gel, but I used up this no name sweet pea one that Danielle gave me.

MISCELLANEOUS:

I broke one of Dean’s bubble wands. We salvaged the fluid and poured it into two other wands. I didn’t do it on purpose. It just snapped from use. The other is a pencil that I used up. Remember those plastic pencils with the little lead refills? I still have a few of those hanging around from my middle school/high school days.

135/200 is what I wanted to have done at the very least, so I am very satisfied that this is what I got done in October. I have a masking challenge going on in November and December, so that will be boosting my empties a little bit. I also have a few odds and ends on their last legs as well. I think I might have 15 to 20 empties in the month of November. Now, that might be a generous prediction, but I believe it might come true. At the very least, I want another 10 to be a productive month. I have two skin cares on their last legs, two body lotions, and a few makeup bits and bobs. Hopefully, I can make this prediction come to life. Wish me luck!

April Birchbox

While I am not in love with all of the products in my April Birchbox, I am very satisfied with it. I made a purchase and used up my 10 USD Birchbox points that were expiring this month. I am happy to be trying everything and hopefully, you will see them in next month’s empties! Birchbox is really affordable at 10 USD a month with tax. (Mine is 63 cents!) Without further waiting, here is my April Birchbox!

I chose the Rifle Paper Co box and I am glad that I did the box is GORGEOUS and the 20% off coupon is one that I will actually use. I’m making photo-albums for my son and I want to make it beautiful. I’m sure this company will help me make it as handsome as him. I bought a small album book that fits 6 by 4 photos as a full page. It’s big enough to right dates and make some pages “event” ones like stubs from his first movie with the movie poster photo on it or details about the day. Anyways, I really love the box. It will be great to put little gifts into it like gift cards or something.

Rusk Elixir Mist Thermal Shine Mist (No Hold), 35 ml for $10 USD

I have two other shine sprays besides this one. One is an aerosol and the other is just a sprayer. I love this brand and it smells amazing, too. This product is great on days, when your hair is looking a bit dull and you want to shine it up. I’m glad I got this product/brand, but it is going to be a bit before I can use it.

Burt’s Bees Pink Blossom Tinted Lip Balm, 0.15 oz for $7 USD

It doesn’t really tint my lips, but it does feel very moisturizing on the lips. It feels a bit oily and it is a natural lip balm. It isn’t my favorite, but it is great for applying around the house or on the go with a baby. It is very fuss free. You can never have too many lip balms, I suppose. I tend to misplace mine ALL THE TIME.

W3ll People Expressionist Mascara, ? oz for $6 USD

I assume that this mascara is a fourth of the product as in a full sized tube. I have two tubes of mascara open right now, so I will not be using this soon. I love trying out mascara, but if it doesn’t work for me, I’m quick to toss it as an “empty”. Another product to enjoy later and not right now. It has to wait its turn in my beauty routine.

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Leave In Conditioner, ? oz for $2.94 USD

I assume that this product is an ounce. I cannot wait to use this product. It is waiting on my bathroom counter for the next time that I take a shower. I just finished It’s a 10 and I just want to try something different, but hopefully just as good! If not, I can always buy It’s A 10 for blondes.

Odacite Skincare B1 + C serum Concentrate, ? oz $?

This is a serum that treats pimples. I will try this, but its such a small sample. I don’t think I’ll be able to review it afterwards. It’ll be in an empty soon, though. I’m excited to try it. I have a few pimples here and there that come up if I’m too lazy to wash my face.

Illumme Noble Currant Soy Candle, 3.2 oz for $5.40 USD

This candle smells divine and I love the canister. I have already burned a fourth of this up and I can see myself buying another one.

Kusmi Tea Tea Infuser, 1 ct for $6.90 USD

I needed one of these for my stringless tea bags and I want to try drinking loose tea. It seems like it is very good quality.

Birchbox Man: April

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

This is potentially my dad’s last Birchbox for a while. He has a nice stash of hair products and he wants to take a month or two (or three) off to go through everything that he has. I tried to cancel and Birchbox told me that I would lose my points. I emailed them asking if I was really going to lose 28 USD worth of points.  I am keeping my subscriptions, so I don’t see why. We will see what they have to say. I recently subscribed to Nature Box, because I was curious about the snack company. I should be receiving my first box next week. So, here is my makeup post for Friday.

English Laundry Cambridge Knight Eau de Parfum, ? fl oz for 1 USD?

My dad liked this scent, but wouldn’t buy it for the price. I totally agree with him. It smells nice, but really nothing special.

PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Reworkable Hold Paste, 0.5 oz for 4 USD

My dad really likes hair paste and the fact that you can use it on wet or dry hair. My dad just likes to rub some paste in his hair and call it a day. I like effortless style and I am considering getting my bf some hair paste. I love hair paste myself for grip on braids. This seems like a TON of product, though. My dad will have months of use since you only need a little bit, no matter your hair length.

PLANT Get It On Body Wash, 1 fl oz for 2.22 USD

My dad laughed at the name and is intrigued enough to give it a try. It is a one time use sample, but you can usually know with body wash. The smell isn’t amazing, but if it is very moisturizing, I would buy it for him for Father’s Day. Anyone has any Father’s Day ideas?

Declan Solid Squared, 1 ct for 30 USD

My dad told me that I could have the pocket square. I told me to put it away until he has a fancy suit worthy even to go to like my wedding. This will be sitting for a long time. This was really ill suiting for my dad.

Word. Notebooks, 3 pack for 10 USD

My dad loves this little notebooks for writing out shopping lists or things he wants to remember. They are nice little notebook that are easy to just throw in a bag and go. These will make shopping so much easier!

This month’s subscription is worth a whopping 47.22 USD, which is double the subscription cost! This is a really great value and well worth the money. I did cancel the subscription and Birchbox assured me that I will not lose my points. I will be ordering something from them soon! An early Birthday treat to me, myself, and I. It’s all about me, me, me, me, and everybody. lol If you know where that song lyric is from, high five!
