719 Walnut Ave

719 Walnut Ave Grapefruit Mandarin Foaming Hand Soap

household

This goes for around $1.50 at my local Walmart and the scent is amazing. It smells like fresh squeezed grapefruit. I don’t smell mandarin, but I think it just adds a sweetness to the grapefruit. I love the thick foam this provides and I feel like my hands have never been cleaner. I will be repurchasing. I recently bought the moisturizing hand soap in a different scent, but I much prefer the foaming soap. I highly recommend you give this soap a try.

February Empties

I have another month of empties to share with all of you. I used up a lot of items this month and I am hoping to finish up even more in March. My skincare cabinet has a bit of room to it now. My first thought was to bring in more items from my back stock, but I have refrained from doing that so far. I wanted to bring in another face mask, but I already have 5 open. lol. I love skin care products, but I am trying to convince myself that a little bit of room is good to be able to comfortably reach everything without knocking bottles over.

Gosh, 41 items in the month of February is a lot of items to get through in a very short month. I am very excited to see what March brings. So far, my basket is empty, but that was how Feb started and I ended up with 41 empties. I love getting rid of so much stuff and not wasting it either. I am excited to see how many of these items count towards my Project 200 pan. I feel like at this rate, 200 might be a real achievable goal for me. If I reach it too soon, then I will up my goal depending upon how many months are left in the year.

Recent Random Purchases

I will continue with what I got for Christmas later. I wanted to share a few things that I picked up lately that are not holiday related in any shape or form. I just needed a few things throughout the month of November and December and just never got a chance to share. I know there has been a lot of holiday posts, Dean updates, and the like, so I thought that this would be a nice break. I plan on having some reviews go up this month too, so you can look forward to that if you enjoy reviews. I’ve gotten a bit behind and have a huge basket of products to review. I’ve been so busy with cleaning the house that reviews went on the back burner. I’m hoping to post at least 10 reviews this month.

Elf Tone Correcting Powder in Cool

I decided to buy this after Liv from Livloveshermakeup on Youtube recommended it and said that it was her favorite powder for setting in her foundation. I haven’t used it enough yet to say if I like it or not. I just finished up my last loose powder. I only have this and the glimmery Hourglass powder left for my face. Most of the time, I want a matte appearance. I’m sure I’ll form an opinion by the time I hit pan on this powder. I really love the Hourglass powder too, but I like to use it 1x when I want that type of look.

pens

PaperMate Profile Ballpoint Pens

I needed more pens for my course work and I like the cushy pads on these. I will always choose PaperMate InkJoy as my first choice though. Unfortunately, Walmart was all out of the InkJoy,  so I settled for these. I’m not a fan of how thick the ballpoint is and I cannot wait until I need more pens again to get my favorite. If you haven’t tried them, I highly recommend them. I’m itching to try the Gel Pens megapack, but it’s expensive. Once I start SNHU, I will treat myself to a pack.

notebook

Plain Old $1 Notebook

I needed another notebook for my course. The first notebook held the first 5 chapters. I had some Chapter 5 overflow into this new book, but most of it was on the first one. I take a lot of notes too. This will be enough to finish the last two chapters of the book and the exam notes to study from. I plan on taking the test in February probably near Valentine’s Day. I usually plan the actual test date two weeks out from when I finish the last chapter. Two weeks of intense studying has been good for me. So, near the end of Chapter 7, I’ll schedule it at the test center.

soap

Dial Paradise Limeade Hand Soap

I love this scent so much. It smells like a Raspberry Lime Rickey from my childhood. I need to pick another of the oil infused hand soap. My hands are so red and cracked. They need some tlc. I am looking forward to picking that up this weekend. I’m almost done with this one. I feel like the oil one really does moisturize better, but was too heavy during the summer when I first purchased it.

toy

Playhut Plus Adventure Play Tunnel

I had to share Dean’s favorite Christmas toy. I know I said this was holiday free, but I lied. I had to share his favorite thing to play with. He loves crawling in his tunnel and hanging out in there. He plays hide and seek and tries to walk into it, but he’s too tall to do that. He’s such a sweet, good boy. I love watching him play and he brings me so much joy. I can’t imagine my life without him.

Stuff I Bought Lately

I have been buying Christmas presents and a few things for myself lately. I thought that I would share what I have bought for Dean so far for Christmas. I have plans for his birthday. His birthday present is really pricey, so I’m waiting until sometime next year to buy it for him. He will love it though! I’m hoping I can save up the $80 that this present costs over the first two months of the new year. I usually like to celebrate his birthday again the next year. I get him a cake and a card for his birthday, but he doesn’t get his present until the next year and I do the cake again.

Spark Fire Truck

toy

I bought this for Dean to learn how to roll a truck on the floor. It is a nice big size, so he can really handle it. It is also too big to go in his mouth. He enjoys playing with it and it is fun to sit with him on the floor and try to get him to use the truck the “correct” way. He still prefers to kick it across the floor though.

Crayola Color Bath Dropz

toys

I love surprising Dean with different colored baths, when I have the time to let him play in the tub for 10 to 20 minutes. He’s a shower boy, but he loves his tub play time. His face lights up when he sees the colored water. He hasn’t tried to drink the color water, but he tries to “catch” it in his hands. The color drops leaves the bath water really moisturizing, which makes you a slippery tube. Dean likes to “walk” in the tub, so he was slipping around a bit. I’m going to try a different brand when these are done.

cup

I’m trying all different cups to try to get Dean off of the bottle. So far, he just drips this one all over himself. It isn’t going to waste though. I’m sure he will love to drink out of this when he gets older. It just gathers dust right now.

cup

Another one that Dean likes to use as a squirt gun. Again, he will appreciate it when he gets older. He uses his 360 cup for everything BUT milk. He refuses to drink milk out of anything but a bottle. This will gather dust as well, but I bet this will be his favorite water bottle in a year or two.

Dial Seasonal Collection Paradise Limeade Hand Soap

soap

I bought another hand soap and this one smells SO GOOD! It smells like a raspberry lime Rickey. I am enjoying the fruity tart scent. It makes washing my hands enjoyable. I cannot wait to buy another seasonal scent. I didn’t enjoy the pine scented one, but maybe they have something with apple, pumpkin, or cinnamon.

These are the stuff that I have bought lately. I’m waiting to have enough presents for Dean to make a post. So far, I have gotten him three things. I want to get him another two or three things for Christmas and then, I will post what I got him here. I’m still trying to find him toys that are engaging enough for him, but also easy for his autistic brain to comprehend. Simple toys are the way to go with him. I’m hoping to find a few more things that he doesn’t already have. I’m also wiping up a couple of toys to donate that he has grown out of like his walking zebra and the little activity table. It will make room for all of his new toys coming in.

November Empties

Hey guys! Another month gone and Christmas and Dean’s birthday are right around the corner. I had quite a few empties this month, so I was very impressed. I have a ton of reviews to write now in my spare time. I’ve been building the furniture I bought on Black Friday this weekend and I’ll be able to show them soon. I just want to buy some super glue to glue back some broken pieces on my nick knacks so they look good in the pictures that I’ll be taking. I’ll be having two VS hauls coming up soon. So, stay tuned!

I finished off quite a few minis, but also some full sizes as well. I’m very proud of what I have been able to accomplish. I am looking forward to seeing what I can finish off before it is time for my January inventory to start off the new year with. I will be busy inventorying my whole collection and making plans for my 2018 year project pan where I want to use up 250 beauty related items next year. There will  be plenty of fun posts in the new year. I’m happy that I’m only doing one project next year. Simplified.

October Empties

Another month, another empties post. I went through surprising a lot this month. I wasn’t expecting to use up so much, but it seems like a lot of my products are on their last legs. I expect November and December to be heavy months as well. I am grateful that I never lost power in the storm that terrorized New England this week and I pray for the lives lost in the terrorist attack in New York City. That city has gone through way too much. My car was damaged in the storm, but at least, no one got hurt. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I’ll be outside playing with my son today.

I am super impressed with what I was able to move out this month. I’m running low on product reviews, so I might disappear during the week with no new posts once in a while. On those weeks, I will be writing product reviews for my blog. I like to hand write them first before typing them up on my blog. Next week will probably be an empty week. I’m going to try to write as many reviews as I can. Maybe I can empty out my review basket. I’m hoping to write ten reviews, because lets face it, there are like 50 products in my review basket right now. lol. If I do 5 reviews a day this weekend, I’ll be happy.

August Empties

Well, better late than never, huh? I was busy over Labor Day weekend and it didn’t leave much time for blogging. I’ve been trying to get a lot of posts scheduled to go up this weekend and next week. There are so many posts that I want to write, plus a lot of products are piling up in my basket to review. I have a very busy end of year for me. There are so many appointments for Dean to go to and my dad is having foot surgery at the end of the year. I’m going to get in as much blogging as I can, because I might be off and one at the end of the year. I’m taking time off to take care of my dad and Dean, because he won’t be able to take care of Dean for a bit. This is such a busy year for me. Also, it has been the most productive year as well.

I decided to sign up for the next Insurance course to get an Associates degree in Insurance Data Analytics. I’ll be getting my books in a couple of weeks. I might be blogging less. I’m going to take the exam sometime in Jan to March, which is my exam window and I get to chose the day and time to take it. Two Associates degrees kinda equal 1 BA degree right? I didn’t get to interview for that job, strictly on the basis of no BA. Talk about discrimination in the workforce.

I basically felt degraded by the HR manager that talked to me about having no degree and once I told her that I had an Associates degree (in the job description it said you could have an Associates with 4 to 6 years of documented work HISTORY, not specific work experience), she said I needed a BA and work experience to get this job. Quote: “You don’t go from down here to up here. Do you understand?” Oh, I understood perfectly. You just didn’t want to give me a chance to prove that you don’t need a formal education to work in IT.

But, let’s get to my empties post.

Not as many empties this month, but still quite a bit. I already have quite a few for September, so I think I will have more empties for this month. I am glad to be using up more of my collection. Eventually, I would like to buy some new stuff that I have been DYING to try. I’m really trying not to be a hoarder and to use and enjoy what I have. I think I have been very successful, despite splurging for my birthday and tax money treat. I need to treat myself sometimes, right? I’ll be treating myself to clip in hair extensions soon enough. I’m embracing my darker, natural hair color. No more bleach. No more blonde. Just…..me.
