FITFABFUN: SUMMER

20190615_144857.jpg

It is a happy time when my FABFITFUN comes in the mail and this is only my second box! I also wasn’t expecting this box either as it wasn’t supposed to arrive for another week or so. This time around, I got nine items in my box of mostly skincare, which I am not mad about. I LOVE SKINCARE. Also, some of it I didn’t have or I needed a backup of. This is my second box and again, I think the value of what I received is worth the price that I paid. I paid $53.11 with tax on a $49.99 subscription. When I can afford to pay for a whole season, I will because I do want to keep this box around for a while.

ALSO, I will be adding any relevant items to my current inventory list. Basically, any time I add to my backstock, I will put into my inventory list and any item that I take out of backstock is deducted from the list. If it isn’t in backstock and was never considered backstock, it will not be added to the list. Any current item that goes into backstock will be added to the list. I just wanted to make that clear before I show you what I got in my box.

NOTE: I took a week off due to being sick. I’m hoping to stay back on my schedule, but still under the weather.

20190615_145319.jpg

Invisibobble Original, 6 for $16

I have 3 clear and 3 nude hair ties. I am always in need of more hair ties. I am dumping these directly into my hair tie container where I keep all of my hair accessories. I’m not made that these where in my box. I have a use for them and I have always wanted to try something like this before. It is a very practical item that I’m sure most women could use. This was an item that everyone received in their box this season.

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

& Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream-Gel, $45 for the set

I am BEYOND pumped that I got my choice! I have been DYING to try the Bum Bum cream and now I also get to try the shower gel as well. Since this is only a deluxe sized sample of the bum bum cream, I am intending to use it sparingly and only on my boobs and butt when I want them to look great. This set smells divine and I know that I want to buy the full size when all is said and done. I think I will wait to use the shower gel until I buy the full size, so I can use them together as a set. I am putting the shower gel in storage, but I will be putting out the Bum Bum cream to use. Even with my cold, it smells like a sweet and nutty bakery shop. I absolutely love it. I’ll be milking this small 2.5 oz container all summer.

20190615_145434.jpg

111Skin Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask, 5 for $160

Just these sheet masks makes the box triple its value and worth it. I am always ready to try a new sheet mask. So, I can now add these 5 to my backstock for when I am ready to use one. I did no masking this week as I write this post, because I have been sick. I think I might even skip a week of blogging, because I do not feel good at all. Every time I use a sheet mask, I subtract it from my inventory. I keep them in storage, because they are not something that I use regularly. These will probably be the first one that I use when I feel better. I am excited to try it and I wonder if the mask itself is reflective or like a foil mask in rose gold. That would be so cool. Ago, this was another item that I chose.

Odeme What A Pair Silicone Wine Glasses, 2 for $25

These are super cute and come in a pink drawstring bag. I could see using these for jello shots or icy sangrias. They are perfect for travel, if you plan on drinking at a picnic or something. I’ll probably use these at home with drinks. You could put these in the freezer for ten minutes to get them cold and then pour a drink in them. They will have a use at my house, so I am happy with them. They are also baby pink, so super cute. I also chose this item as well.

20190615_145540.jpg

Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask, for $39

This is another item that was included in everyone’s box this season. Another item that is going into backstock until I use up my current face mask. This one seems really cool, because it is a purple face mask and purple is my favorite color. I love that it is cruelty free. I cannot wait to start using it when I can. Since the product is completely sealed, I will not be opening it until I am ready to use it, so it can stay as fresh as possible. I am so pumped about this box. I absolutely love it. Already, I think this one is SO much better than the Spring box. I am WAY more pumped about the items in the Summer one.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Purifying Cleanser, for $36

My mystery item that I didn’t get to chose was this cleanser and I am super pumped about that! I thought the mystery items were mostly unwanted products, but this one is the bomb dot com. If you are a SELECT member, you would have been able to chose this one or another choice. I couldn’t find this exact product on the website, which makes me think that this is the repackaged cleanser listed on the brand’s website. This is a daytime cleanser, so I think that I will immediately put this to use. I will start using this in the morning instead of my makeup wipes. I will reserve my wipes for lazy days. This cleanser is supposed to shrink pores and reduce oil production. It would serve its purpose better in the morning than at night. I am excited to start using this.

Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask, for $32

Everyone received this item in their box. I have a foot mask out at the moment, so this will be going into storage until I finish that tube up. It is very close to being used up too. This is a leave overnight foot mask, which is very interesting. I look forward to using it, once I use up my current tube which is just a 10 to 15 minute foot mask. I only really use foot masks during the summer to keep my feet in sandal shape. I do it occasionally during the Winter if I feel like my feet need it. This box is starting to have an insane value.

Grace & Stella Rose Facial Spray, for $25.95

Another item that everyone got in their box. I love face spray. This one already leaked all over the box, so it is going straight into rotation and replacing my coconut MAC Prep & Prime. This smells like an old grandma rose. I want to just use it up and get it out of my collection. It is in a plastic bottle, which I don’t think fits the $25 price tag. I can use this before makeup, after makeup, and whenever. I plan on using it whenever I want to, since I don’t care for the scent. I’m not going to hoard this one. I’m still glad that I have this and I will still use it up. I just don’t personally care for the scent. I am also sick, which could have a factor in how this smells right now to me.

Coola Makeup Setting Spray SPF 30, for $36

Last but not least, this was another item that I did not choose and I am hella glad that I have it now. I pulled this setting spray in and my Huda into storage. This has SPF, so I want to use this one during the Summer for sure. It would make no sense to continue using Huda and wear this one in the Winter. I really love the cool looking glass bottle and it feels super expensive matching the price tag. I have only gotten into setting sprays recently, so I wonder how this compares to the Huda.

I feel like I love everything that I got in this box 110%. I am super excited to try everything. There isn’t anything that I am meh about. The total value of my box is $414.95. I feel like this season was the best box yet. I love and will use everything. I really should do a month of masking. I have plenty of them now. What did you get in your Summer FITFABFUN box?

Homemade Applesauce

I really enjoyed making and eating this applesauce. I could have made it more commercial by putting it in a blender after, but I don’t mind the chunkiness. It gives it a more homemade feel. I ate this mostly as Dean wasn’t fond that it didn’t come in an applesauce container. lol. I need to keep that and a pudding cup and make my own. This way, they are still in the containers that he recognizes and are used to. I love sharing these recipes with all of you and I hope that you share any pictures if you decide to make any of the ones that I post. Happy baking!

Lifestyle, My Life

I’m Back Bitches!

After a little over a two month hiatus, I am back and better than ever. Don’t worry my blogging friends! I won’t be disappearing again any time soon. I have such an update and it fills me with such joy and happiness. I decided to move in with my boyfriend Martin after only two months of dating. Our three month hits two weeks from now and I couldn’t be more excited! We are renting a 2 bedroom basement condo that comes with its own little covered patio and walk in pantry. Dean loves Martin so much and it just felt right to take this next step together. Martin has his own daughter who I am delighted to be meeting in two weeks time! We just moved last Wednesday, so we have been here a little over a week and still getting everything in order. There might be little snippets of our apartment in blog posts, but no real room tours unless I feel like its complete. I could probably do a Dean room tour right now. That’s like the only room though. lol. It’s been crazy and exciting and different. I really needed this after everything that I have gone through in my life.

So, what does this mean for the blog?

Well, it means a lot of things. I will be back with traditional content and some brand new, fresh posts. I am planning on posting project pans again, modified empty posts, hauls, tv shows/movie reviews, book reviews, and product reviews. I am still going to college, but taking one class at a time. I want to continue with my semester wrap up review of the class and what I thought of it at SNHU. I also want to throw in some new content. I am trying out the FITFABFUN subscription and I want to haul and review that. If I like the first one, I plan on subscribing for a year, so you can plan on continuing to see those posts if that occurs. I want to review phone apps that I have been enjoying and finding useful. I am trying out food meal kit services that I want to review. I am also getting the produce delivered to me as a subscription that I want to review as well. I want to share meal recipes with photos and possible Youtube videos. My boyfriend and I might be launching a Youtube channel together and I would also post those videos here. I love to bake, so I really want to learn how to cook and design my kitchen the way I want. I am going to be making a veggie/fruit garden by hanging plants on our patio, so I want to show that on this blog as well. There might be some budgeting posts as well.

My blog will be turning into a lifestyle blog rather than a beauty heavy blog. So, if I want to share a post about something in my life, I will be doing so. I want to live a healthy, happy life at Phoenix Cove (we named our apartment). So, I am actually going to be renaming the blog, Phoenix Cove. I find it very suiting for the new direction that this blog is going in. I am very happy where I am at this point in my life and I feel inspired again. I hope you all continue to join me on my journey. I have a feeling that 2019 will only be getting better for me. I know next week that I will have a bunch of hauls from ordering items and things coming in. I don’t have a posting schedule, but I would expect that I will be uploading 3x a week unless I have a really filled week. I do guarantee 1 post a week though.

I have ambitious plans for this blog, but I know that I will reach them. I already have a running list of posts that I want to write when I have the free time. It’s amazing what freedom, a fresh start, and a new loving man can do for your life and just change your whole outlook. For once I was lost, but now, I am found.

A Long Break

First, I just want to say thank you to the 622 people who follow my blog! Your support means so much to me and I love each and everyone of you. After much consideration, I have decided to cut down on my blogging schedule. I will only be blogging one day a week (more if I feel so inclined) for the foreseeable future. I just have a lot going on in my life right now and my blog is one thing I will have to set aside with how much time is put into it. Another thing that I will be going up is going to SNHU. I really enjoyed my three terms there (still enjoying it since my term doesn’t end until 12/23). I know. This is my second time dropping out of college, but I just have so much going on that I won’t be able to dedicate enough time to it.

This will only be a temporary thing until I move out of my own with my son, Dean. I plan to resume classes with one at a time, so I know that I can put 110% into it. I am so lucky to have a really great job that I worked really hard for and my life is just beginning with this move. I’ve been unhappy and depressed for so long that I’ve forgotten how to be happy and I’ve lost myself along the way. I need time to find myself again and the person that I used to be. I’ve lost her and I miss her. I miss being myself with all of my imperfections and insecurities.

Almost every guy I have ever known has tried to build me into the image of me that they wanted me to be. They didn’t like who I was and instead of just saying it, they manipulated me to be what they wanted. And now that I am finally awake from this personality coma that I’ve been in my whole life, I don’t want to go back. I can’t go back to the way things were before. I want to go out on dates, I want to hang out with my friends, I want to answer only to myself. I want my freedom back, I want my life back. I want my sanity back. I want me back.

And so, I have to take a break from doing things that I love, because it doesn’t give me any joy anymore. I have my eyes set on a prize and I can’t afford to be distracted. I’ll blog when I feel the joy and the happiness it always brought me. And I’ll be here every week. I just currently have zero motivation or energy to even finish my semester out.

Thank you for all of your love and support. If it wasn’t for this blog, I think I would be in a darker hole than I currently find myself in. Its a little piece of sanity in a shaky world.

Dean’s ABA Week

Let me just tell you that it has been a difficult week and I’m on vacation no less. I am actually writing this on the day that it is going up, because I have been too emotionally drained to prewrite my posts. I have a lot of personal shit going on right now, which basically involves me moving out on my own with Dean with little to no assistance from my dad. He keeps going back and forth on whether or not he will help watch Dean until the school year next Fall. I think that I’ll be moving sometime in the Spring/Early Summer. I’ll have my move out money ready by the end of this year/early next year. My dad will need his move out money too though and in the mean time I will be paying more than my fair share of the rent (about $225 more than I would out on my own). So, it easy to say that I am pretty pissed about that. The sooner I leave, the better for everyone. I just want to be happy again. But that’s enough depressing shit. Dean’s the light of my world and I love him so much. But I have to take care of myself to take better care of him and being in such a negative, mommy bashing environment can’t be good for him.

Dean’s EI Week

I am writing this on 11/10/18 while Dean is taking a rare nap in his room and I have a few spare moments to myself during my lunch until I have to punch in to work from home. Dean has come a long way with Early Intervention and it is getting close to the end. I have yet to receive a confirmation from his health insurance that he is being renewed next year. Else, I have to add him onto my work plan next year and it will be shittier insurance. Not to mention that adding him will add $110 on to my current plan. That means that every paycheck, I will be paying $235 for our health insurance. That is close to a third of my paycheck. That means that most of his SSI check would be going to his health insurance, leaving me again with nothing. Also, since I don’t get his SSI two months out of the year because I make too much money, that means that on those months that I will be getting $330 less out if my paycheck. That is like 40% of my paycheck. I am scraping it together as is. Hopefully, when I call on Monday, he will still have coverage next year and the crisis can be diverted.

10/22/18 – Speech

Dean continues with ABA services. Joyce is leaving and Jolene will take over. Dean sat and strung beads. He pointed to his choice. Therapist modeled “I want ___” and animal sound. With bubbles, we said “pop, pop”. Dean said “pop” 1x. Modeled “more” with sign and helped him with hand over hand.

  • Dean requires a lot of sensory input.

10/24/18 – OT

Dean had a busy am with ABA. Joyce will be leaving as supervisor. ABA workers will remain the same. Dean is scheduled for play based assessment. Dean did excellent today. Greeted me with good eye contact and big smiles and wanted a big hug. Dean sat and completed several manipulatives, puzzles, shape sorter, and bead stringing. He did excellent handing over pictures to request more shapes. Swinging in swing, he fell asleep.

  • Continue to use pictures for him to ask for things.
  • Can take pictures of tv shows to print pictures of so he can request

Dean’s ABA Week

Joyce’s replacement Jolene is a good fit for us. On first impressions, I really like her and I think that her viewpoint might be better suited to us than Joyce. Joyce was very strict and Jolene is a bit more lenient. Jolene is also more focused on getting Dean to talk, because she thinks that all of those words are locked up inside of him. She thinks that with enough stimulation, he might actually start to speak. I am super excited about this. Instead of focusing on a lot of skill building, we will be focusing on speech and finger strengthening. We need to strengthen his hands and finger in order for him to hold a pencil, utensils, and be able to clap and stuff like that. It is another chapter in Dean’s life and this series will go on with a new supervisor. I am very proud of how far my little guy has come in such a short amount of time. Our year with ABA is coming up soon!

10/22/18 – Ann

Active, smiling, and playful. List behaviors observed: mouth, flop. Dean was playful, seeking tickles. Did several independent arms up. Needed prompts to flip to second page in PECS book. Used picture to request tickles.

10/22/18 – Joyce

Discussed next appropriate toys and programs child initiated handing off for tickles for more than one therapist, sat in chair on own, no direction given for water. Grandparent informed new BCBA taking case, will set up apt.

10/23/18 – Deb

Dean did great today on programs. He sat well for trials and for longer periods of time. Dean independently sat down with his water today. He did great handing mom the PECS pictures for a granola bar. List behaviors observed: flopping

10/23/18 – Joyce

Parent mentioned EI discussed waiver program, BCBA responded saying HMEA could have further discussion with parent. Parent showed good follow through, parent observed entire session, parent spoke to child ‘s increased interest in toy play/toys, parent discussed success of child’s new bed and bedroom environment. Therapist asks relevant questions for programming, therapist needs to increase pace of session and keep child going with less breaks in frequency and duration.

10/23/18 – Ann

Afternoon session, sat for briefer durations. List behaviors observed: licking, flop. Dean did great matching. Stacked 8 blocks. Sat for briefer durations than he does in the morning.

Dean’s EI Week

It is currently November 8th and there is only a month and a half of EI left. I’ll have less Dean related stuff to talk about here on this blog on a regular basis. It will return to a weekly, possibly biweekly at times, update. I am happy that this chapter is coming to an end for Dean. While we are sad that his OT will be stopping, we didn’t care for his speech therapist, who really didn’t work that hard to get him to speak. She literally did nothing most of the time with Dean. She didn’t bring any toys. She talked about nonrelated crap. She was/is basically a terrible speech therapist and has the reputation as one as well. So, we are sad and happy at the same time. Like the session below, was her on the phone for the whole session….literally, an hour.

10/15/18 – Speech

Dean is pointing and using more and all done sign more independently. When he wants to swing, he points to what he wants. Dean was seen at home with Hannah. Family has scheduling concerns due to upcoming health concerns that need to be addressed. This therapist called school today and left a message requesting all meetings done by Thanksgiving. Requested pep be given to school.

10/17/18 – OT

Hannah reported Dean was tired for ABA this morning, but when they left, he was full of energy. Dean did well today. He signed more a few times spontaneously to get more puzzle pieces. He needed a lot of input today and did a lot of jumping on trampoline. He did excellent requesting of puzzle pieces via pictures. Continues to do well with puzzles and bead stringing.

  • Continue sensory play interspersed with adequate directed activity.
  • Continue pictures to request toys/food.

October Semester

Okay, my October term started on 10/29 and I really started it the day before with looking at what was to come. I am so nervous about one class this semester and I am glad that I basically have a good part of December off due to my dad’s surgery for it. I also have just discovered that I have a good part of November off as well. I will even be able to work from home in January, so I am very happy about my little vacation from work this year. I am writing this on November 1st and I am currently suffering from a Crohn’s medical complication. I am on antibiotics and steroids. I am doing well but as you can imagine, I am very uncomfortable. Working on my blog and school work gives me something to focus on during my day off.

MAT 140 – Precalculus

Yep, the class that I fear is this one. I am so nervous about this class, but so far it is going great. The first week hasn’t been as hard as I thought. I just have to make sure that I work on my weekly problems early on in the week. I am sure that explaining my thought process to solve a problem will be difficult for me to write or challenging, but I am confident that I will be able to keep up with this course to be successful. I have already earned 100/1000 points for completing a quiz and the initial assessment. I get 75 points every week that I do the problem set for the week. The final test is worth 155 points and the project is worth 100. Doing the problem sets every week is critical for success since it is weighted for 75% of the course. I have complete confidence that I will pass this course and I might even get an A. We shall see.

DAT 210 – Foundation to Data Analytics

AKA a business proposal course. This doesn’t really touch much on Data Analytics. It is more of a project management class on how to construct a business proposal for a business question that you want to answer to resolve a business issue. How it relates to data analytics is you have to gather data and analyze the results of that data. It is a lot of little papers, I think there are 5 little papers that break down the big project. Then, you put them all together for the final. Along the way, there are chapter readings each week and discussions that you need to post and respond to. I don’t think that this will be a difficult class as long as I keep up with it. I am very good at writing and forming plans. It will give me good real world experience.

I think this will be an easy term overall for me. Yes, Precal is going to be very challenging but I can handle it. It is funny how the Freshman class is going to be harder than the Sophomore class. As long as I give myself plenty of time to do the problem sets in math, I think that I will have an easy term. I might even be able to work ahead this term, because the assignments are less than previous classes. There is only a chapter read once a week for the data class, but no reading for math. It is built into the problem sets which makes it very convenient. I am looking forward to another great term!

Dean’s ABA Week

Another long week for his ABA sessions. I love it when he has a full week and I got to be home for this one. A week at my house is always super busy with people coming and going. Dean currently has a little cold and I bought him some Vicks to relieve his stuffy nose. It seems to be one thing after another for him and it makes me said. This is a boy who is hardly sick, so it is tough on me when it does happen. I just feel so helpless. I am currently suffering from an intestinal infection as well, so we are all just sick babies over here. lol. Dean is getting so big. He looks like a little boy now instead of a baby. He still has those adorable chubby cheeks and is always yelling “Mom!”. It is really cute. The other day, he put his hands in mine and told me that he loved me. It is moments like these that give me hope that he will have a bright future and finally, FINALLY, talk to us.

10/18/18 – Ann

Tired, moved slow through programs. List behaviors observed: flop. Dean still having trouble getting to bed at night. Sleepy this morning. Going to doctor today for flu shot and rash on face. Dean was sleepy and moving slow through programs this morning. Zero instances of mouthing today. Great independent matching.

10/18/18 – Deb

Dean did great today. He sat well for programs. Dean had great joint eye contact. We started having Dean request snacks from mom and he did awesome and was requesting food independently. Went over programs with Joyce.

10/18/18 – Joyce

BCBA informed parent of BCBA transition. Parent showed good follow through parent did orcs for chip with child, child did 5/7 independent exchanges. Therapist prepared with excellent non identical matching cards, non identical matching to be added to child’s programs.

10/19/18 – Deb

Dean did great today on programs. He had great eye contact. He enjoyed jumping on the trampoline at the end of the session. He said “bye” while I was packing up my toys!
