Body Care BACKUP Collection 2019

I feel very good about this category. I don’t feel like I have an excessive amount here. I think I can empty this bin by the end of the year, if I don’t get any new products coming into this category and I might with my FitFabFun box. I feel like at the end of the year, I can condense the remaining products with my skin care bin. I am feeling more confident that I can get myself down to two bins by the end of the year. I had a goal to free up one drawer in my jewelry chest and I actually already freed up two drawers. That’s just proof that you can do anything if you set your mind to it. I have come a long way in not hoarding in the body care section. I used to have a TON of stuff waiting in the wings.

VS PINK Sweet & Flirty 2-IN-1 Wash & Scrub

Currently, this is the next shower gel that I will put in my shower once I use up my current one. If I have matching sets, I like to use them together. If one outlasts the other, I will use a shower gel, scrub, or body lotion that I don’t have a matching set of. This is to ensure that I use sets together, but also so that I use up stragglers and products that don’t have a partner. I do have the matching body lotion for this, so they will be used together until one of them dies. I no longer buy skin care/body care from VS since they are not cruelty free, so I would not repurchase any of them for that reason.

VS PINK Sweet & Flirty Body Lotion

I like the Sweet & Flirty scent and the lovely lavender bottles that they come in. I like that this lotion has a pump for easy of use. It is a good big size, so it will take me awhile to work through. I find that these lotions since in fast and don’t leave a greasy or sticky residue. I really like them. I just wish that they didn’t test on animals. It is such a shame.

Avon Foot Works Lavender Comfort Foot Soak

I only have a few uses left and this will most likely be used up this Summer. I tend to pamper my feet during the summer, because I wear sandals. I am looking forward to targeting the products that I discover only have a few uses left in June and July. I really want to knockout as many as I can this year. I want to hit that $500 mark, but I also want to use these products and enjoy them. I no longer purchase from Avon, because they are all pyramid schemes and scams.

Claire’s Ear Care Solution

I use this to prep my ears and earring to go into my ears. I have the standard ear piercing, but I also have my right ear cartilage pierced. This helps to soothe my ears after wearing earrings as my ears are very sensitive to any earring that I put in there it seems. Metal, gold, silver, platinum, it doesn’t seem to matter. My lopes are more sensitive than my cartilage, so it tends to get used more than my traditional piercings. This huge bottle is gonna last me a lifetime and I don’t mind.

VS Bombshell Wild Flower Smoothing Body Polish

I am currently more than half way through a different scent of the same body polish. I am really enjoying these. It leaves my skin so moisturized that I don’t need to follow up with moisturizer after a shower. I just pat dry with a towel and my skin is good to go. I wish VS was cruelty free, because I would buy more of these. I am glad to have an extra, because I think that I will be onto this one by July. I use a body scrub every other shower, so 1 to 2x a week. I like to also take baths and I never use a body scrub in the tub. I enjoy the flower scent of these. The one I’m currently using is floral and sweet. It is the perfect scent for me.

Smart Stuff Mineral Based Sunscreen SPF 30

I bought sunscreen, but it won’t be included here or in these counts. I bought a spray version (twin pack) for my son. I keep one in his diaper bag for going out to my mom’s, daycare, etc. The other one is in the bathroom water closet until the current bottle is used up. This is my own personal sunscreen that I need to use up. I am sure that I will finish this up with a few trips to the lake at my boyfriend’s mom’s house. I don’t have very much left. I just need some occasions to use it. I even keep sunscreen in my purse in case I plan on going out at work and my tattoo is exposed or I’m wearing a dress, etc. I should have no cataloged backups until the end of summer when all the bottles are pout in storage again. Who knows? Maybe we’ll use every last bit up.

Manna Kadar Champagne Charcoal Scrub

I got this body scrub in my Spring FABFITFUN box. Once I use up my VS scrubs, I will move onto this one. I am excited to try it and see how moisturizing it is. I know this brand is cruelty free, so depending upon the performance, I might purchase this one. I haven’t even opened it to smell it yet. I am getting so much better at not opening up products until I want to use them. So, this will stay super fresh until I am ready to use it. It is almost double the size of the other ones, so it’s a good value for the money.

B&BW Seaspray Body Splash

I am currently working on a VS body spray, but besides my glitter one, this is my last body spray in back stock. I am so happy to be almost done with these. I know myself that I do not enjoy using these. I use them as bathroom sprays. If I get more as gifts, that is fine and I will use them as bathroom sprays. I will not be buying more for myself, because I know that I do not care for them. I cannot wait to be out of these. It’s exciting.

Lush Bar Soap

I have long since forgotten what the name of this soap is. I enjoy the scent of it and once I am done with my current body wash, I will use this soap next. I enjoy bar soap every once in a while. I just don’t feel like they get me as clean as shower gel or body wash and leave a residue. I know the Lush ones don’t do that, which is why I enjoy them. This will be gone before the end of the year after sitting around in my collection for over a year. I should have used it up sooner!

AXE Dual Shampoo & Conditioner

This is a little throw away bottle that I keep for traveling to wash my hair. If I happen to take a shower at the YMCA after swimming or at the lake or the ocean, I’ll have this with me to use. I’ll buy one at Walmart every time that I run out. I enjoy the scent of axe products and its a two in one which is convenient for just doing a quick wash. I need to pick up a travel wet hair brush as well and I’ll be all set.

Week From Hell Hand Rescue

I’m waiting for my hand cream to be used up at work and I’ll bring these in. I like to take a mental break at work at my desk and rub lotion on my hands. I don’t necessarily have to have a hand cream. I sometimes use body lotion. I just have to be careful that it doesn’t leave my hands feeling sticky or greasy. I don’t like to type with greasy hands or sticky fingers. It feels so good to have my weekends back and be at the office again. I’ve had enough working from home and being isolated.

Gingy Assorted Body Lotions

I have 4 mostly full bottles left out of the set of 8, so I finished half of them. I think it takes me like 2 weeks of daily usage to finish a bottle. That is a two month supply of lotion technically. I have gotten out of the habit of lotioning everyday though, since I haven’t been going into work. Now, that I am again, I am going to slowly build that up again. My legs were in much better condition when I was doing that. I plan on wearing lots of dresses this summer, so I want my legs to look as nice as possible.

Claire’s Glitter Mist in Sparkling Strawberry

Who doesn’t love a little glitter? I’ll get some use out of this over the summer on bare shoulders, arms, and legs. This will be something fun to use up. Hopefully, I can use this up over the summer. I would rather own a more adult glowy bronzing oil than straight up glitter, but I will use it up.

Hopefully, I am able to cut this collection down to half size by the end of the year. I just want to enjoy and use up what I have before buying more stuff to clutter my tiny apartment. As long as I have a healthy amount leaving my collection every month, I will be happy about all of the progress that I have been making towards decluttering my back stock bins. I will always have back stock, but the amount that I have is a bit ridiculous for my comfort standards. Makeup, I can get away with having a collection of, but skincare, hair care, and body care does not warrant the massive stock that I own. Here’s to a lighter New Year!

Lush Marilyn Hair Treatment

This did nothing to make my blonde hair lighter or brighter. I also did not care for the scent. I would skip this one and again it contains ingredients that strip hair of color. I am disappointed in my first Lush product. I expected so much more since I love Roots, but there were no benefits besides having softer hair which any conditioner would give you anyways.

Ah, I love the scent of this! It is so minty and mentholy. It is just the perfect scent. It did not give my hair volume like it claims. It left my scalp feeling amazing and my hair was less oily at the roots. This pot lasted me forever and was well worth the price that I paid for it. Unfortunately, this contains sulfates and I cannot repurchase it. It will strip my grey hair of its color. If you don’t color your hair, I highly recommend this.

March Empties

Another month gone and another month’s worth of empties. We are getting very close to my birthday month and my vacation month. My dad is having foot surgery and I will be taking a month off of work to take care of him and my son. This year is really flying by. Why couldn’t high school have flown by as much as time seems to do nowadays? Seriously. Time goes by so slow when you are young with no money and when you actually grow up and can spend, time flies by so much you don’t really get the chance to do what you want to do. April starts my lifestyle changes. I have new hair (coming up soon), new exercise routine, and new meal planning. I hope that I stick with it.

For some reason, the last picture was half corrupted, but I am including it anyway. I already threw out all of these empties. I am trying to review the products in my empties that I want to review before throwing them all out. That is why my empties have been late recently. I currently have a ton of older products that I used up that I have yet to write reviews on. I want to review anything new coming in, so I can tackle that empties bucket without adding more to it. You will probably be seeing a shit ton of reviews, especially when I start up college. Reviews are super easy for me to throw on my blog when they are already typed up. 🙂

Rose Jam Is Not My Jam

Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel

 

Rose scents have been growing on me lately, but this sickly sweet scent did not. It was nauseating at times. I mixed this shower gel with another to cut down on the sickliness of this scent. It had a nice consistency and a great lather. The scent is rose and honey. I would buy another Lush shower gel, but not in this scent. I love what Lush stands for and how healthy the ingredients are. It is a bit spendy, which is why I only buy from them once a year or so.

Project 200 Pan Update #1

This is the post I will be breaking down my empties post and sharing which ones will qualify for my 200 used up or panned items in 2018. First, I will share the items that I have hit pan on in January.

I hit pan on 3 items: Elf color correcting face powder in cool, Smashbox purple color corrector, and Lush lip scrub in Mint Julep. I feel like that is a great start to the new year. Now, let’s go over everything from my January Empties post that qualifies for this project.

Everything that counts in these pictures are as follows: all the makeup, all the hair, all the skin care besides the foil packets, Aveeno body lotion, and the Equate one as well. So, that is 11 items (I added together two deluxe sized samples). So, in January I used up 14 out of my 200 goal. I have reached 7 percent of my goal this year. Not that bad for the first month. My basket is already filling up with more items, so I am hoping for anything full February. It is a shorter month, though. I would be happy with another 7% down.

Hair Care Collection 2018

I have a ton of hair care products in storage. I am obsessed with having healthy shiny hair, so I have a lot of different products that do different things.  I have fine, thin hair that is hella oily at the scalp and dry on the ends. I haven’t found anything that makes my hair less oily. I only wash my hair once to twice a week, so from what I heard it should be less oily than when washing it every day. If you know something the gets rid of oily roots, let me know. Dry shampoo only works so much.

I have two hair oils. The Moroccan Oil is a definite repurchase after I finish it up and open up the Ghost Oil. I love the scent of the M oil so much. I will see if I can finish the M oil this year, but I also have a few shine sprays that I need to get through as well. I have two thirds of it left and a little bit of oil goes a long way. Not sure if I can meet this goal this year, but I am going to try.

I have a love hate relationship with mousse. If it works, I love it. If it makes me greasy, I hate it. My hair has fallen out of love with TRESemme and it makes my roots greasy and crunchy. The Herbal Essence smells amazing, but I am not sure that I see any difference whatsoever. I just recently got the eSalon Above The Clouds Volumizing Mouse, so I can’t say too much about it yet. The Big Sexy Hair Root Pump I have yet to try. I would like to use up the TRESemme and the Big Sexy Hair can this year.

I have four dry shampoos here and I know that I can finish off the Drybar Triple Sec and my favorite, Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. I have TRESemme Waterless Foam Shampoo that is just ehh…..I don’t care for it, so I’d like to use it up. I have been using Lush No Drought on the weekends as deodorant. I don’t like it for dry shampoo, but I’m going blonde, blonde. So, maybe I will then.

I have a backup matching set of Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner, A Deva Curl Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Mask, and a John Frieda Frizz Ease Daily Nourishment Conditioner. I should have no problem getting through all of these this year. I wash my hair once to twice a week, so it takes me longer than most to use this stuff up. Still, these are small containers, so it should be all gone by the end of the year.

I have two aerosol shine spray and one manual spray. I want to finish off the manual spray and then probably the Rusk spray this year. I have the Rusk Elixir Mist, L’Oreal Glass Shine, and Nick Chavez Starlet Shine Spray. I love these silicone hair coating products that give my hair shine and strength. I have an oil I want to go through, so hopefully I can balance out these products to use them up.

I have two leave in products that I like to use on freshly washed hair. I will probably only get through one of these this year, since I only use them 52 to 104 times a year. Hmm….maybe, I will get through both of them. We shall see. I have the Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Leave-In Creme, Infusium 23 Moisture Replenish Leave-In Creme.

I have a few miscellaneous products. I will finish the B&BW True Blue Spa Malibu Wave Spray and the TRESemme hairspray. The TIGI Bed Head After Party Smoothing Creme will not be used up. I am trying to use up a lot of shine sprays and an oil. I won’t have enough time to use this one up too. I have plenty of hair care products for next year and this year will be a learning process of finding out what I really like in my hair.

I have a huge hair collection, because I like to invest in my appearance. First impressions are everything.

Lotion Inventory 2018

I have a serious lotion addiction. I love buying them, but not so much using them. I was really good last year and I used up a ton of my lotion back stock. I only bought 2 lotions last year and that was at the end of the year. I have recently fallen into a slump with using up my lotion. It’s been so cold out that I’ve gotten lazy with my lotion routine. My bathroom is chilly and not well insulated. So, after a shower, it can get chilly pretty fast. I am going to be better and just suck it up and lotion every time after a bath and shower. I’ll go back to lotioning every morning when my bathroom is less chilly. In the summer, I was using up 8 ounces of lotion every month.

I have 5 of these seasonal lotions left. I believe that I started out with 8 to 10 of them. These are only 4 ounces, so I can get done two in a month. So, this is about 2 and a half months worth of lotion. I think I have opened and used every one of these, but they all seem pretty full still. I bought these on the website Midnight Velvet, but I would not repurchase. I don’t like websites likes these anymore. They are very overpriced unless you buy things on sale.

I have 4 more lotions/body butters/message bars here. I have a Victoria’s Secret PINK body lotion in Sweet & Flirty, another PINK in Total Flirt but it is a body butter, Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter body butter, and Lush’s White Chocolate Message Bar. Total Flirt is my favorite scent and I am sad that they no longer sell it. Sweet and Flirty is similar, but just not the same. I have about 4 months worth of the lotion and I have no clue about the massage bar. I would say 3 months probably of consistent use. I think I have used half of it already.

I bought the Bath & Body Works Black Friday Tote, which is where I “bought” the red tube from. I wasn’t sure how to categorize Claire’s Glitter Mist, but I’ll use it up on my body during the summer time. The Nivea Men is a leftover that my dad won’t use. It has about half left and I always use up his leftovers. I don’t like to see stuff going to waste. B&BW Aromatherapy Recharge Body Cream smells divine! I have about 2 and a half months worth of lotion.

My total back stock of lotions are 12 and the amount of time it should roughly take me to use them all up are 12 months. That is very convenient. It means that I should be done with my back stock by the end of this year. That means that next year I could be buying new lotion and I’m going to be only keeping 1 back up. No more years supplies.

October Empties

Another month, another empties post. I went through surprising a lot this month. I wasn’t expecting to use up so much, but it seems like a lot of my products are on their last legs. I expect November and December to be heavy months as well. I am grateful that I never lost power in the storm that terrorized New England this week and I pray for the lives lost in the terrorist attack in New York City. That city has gone through way too much. My car was damaged in the storm, but at least, no one got hurt. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I’ll be outside playing with my son today.

I am super impressed with what I was able to move out this month. I’m running low on product reviews, so I might disappear during the week with no new posts once in a while. On those weeks, I will be writing product reviews for my blog. I like to hand write them first before typing them up on my blog. Next week will probably be an empty week. I’m going to try to write as many reviews as I can. Maybe I can empty out my review basket. I’m hoping to write ten reviews, because lets face it, there are like 50 products in my review basket right now. lol. If I do 5 reviews a day this weekend, I’ll be happy.

Cup O’ Coffee

Lush Cup O’ Coffee Face and Body Mask

I love Lush face masks no matter what kind I get. I would repurchase this mask, but I want to try the blue face mask instead. This mask is moisturizing and very exfoliating. It is a mess to take off, so I usually use this on a shower night. Showering makes this a breeze to take off, no cleaning the tub required. It smells just like a cup of sweetened coffee. Now, I have two more empty tubs. Only three more to go, which are a hair mask, hair lightener, and a shower jelly. I will continue to buy from Lush, but probably only once a year on Dean’s birthday, which happens to be unboxing day. I like to spend a good $50 at Lush for a good haul. If I use up all of my stuff by then, I might spend a little more money. I’m also considering a quarterly subscription to fortune cookie soap box. It’s $80 a year though, so my Lush haul is more affordable. 🙂
