I painted my nails this pretty periwinkle blue color last week and I really love the color of this nail polish. The formula isn’t the greatest though. I need three coats to make the color opaque. Even though, I did my nails in the early afternoon, the next morning, some of my nails had imprints from the sheets on them. It dried fast in between coats. I would say that it takes 2 to 5 minutes for this polish to dry if you try to do thin coats. This nail polish is the Sinful Shine with Gel Tech in Alfresco 1219, so it lasts about 5 to 7 days without chipping. It is a good nail polish if you want it to last the whole week. I will be keeping this nail polish in my collection.
I absolutely love how this manicure came out! I painted my nails last Tuesday and it didn’t start to chip noticeably until about Friday. That is a long time with traditional polish. I got so many compliments and the nails went really well with my new hair color.
I put down one coat of the Julep Nail Color in 2282 American Beauty Amy and then I put down one coat of the L’Oreal Glitter Polish in 605 Sparklicious. It catches the light beautifully and it is such an icy Winter combination. I realize that it isn’t Spring appropriate, but it complimented my hair, so I don’t care. I think this week I might so the light lavender Julep nail polish again for a more Spring manicure.
I love this color blue by Julep. This is two coats of Julep’s American Beauty in Amy. It is a muted gray blue that is very flattering with my skin tone. I did notice that it is the same color as the stalls in my work’s bathroom though. lol. I can see getting a lot of use out of this color, because it applied very smoothly and dried down fast. I look forward to trying out that orange one now, which I think will be perfect for Summer. I honestly do think that I will finish most of these nail polishes by the end of the year. I am motivated!
This week’s manicure emptied my bottle of Nicole by OPI Roughles Nail Polish in On What grounds?. I really loved this polish and cannot believe that I have finished up a nail polish. It was getting thick towards the end and I could barely get enough product on my nails to do one last manicure. It’s a good thing that Danielle gave me her pink one, but it seems like that one only has one or two uses left too. It’s not as thick, but there is not much left in the bottle at all.
This was after one easy coat and one hard to get anything on the brush coat. I love texture polishes, when done right, two thin coats dry really quick and last at least seven days looking perfect. It is the easiest polish for me to wear at the moment with a 16 month old. He doesn’t give me much time to myself, but when he does, I love to have a quick manicure and pedicure. Yes, I even use texture polish on my toes!
I am back with my first Manicure Monday of the year. Yes, I know it’s Tuesday, but I am still going to put my post up. I love a sparkly blue this time of year and the Rimmel London Sweetie Crush in 002 Blueberry Whizz reminds me of snow and glass slippers. This is my manicure with one thin coat and second thicker coat. I could have done a third for pure opaqueness, but I feel that would have been really thick. I just love this color and I cannot wait to paint my nails next week. Maybe, I’ll paint my toe nails this color, too….
I have a rare Manicure Monday for all of you to enjoy today! I have had a crazy Labor Day Weekend and I am so sad to see it end. At least, I have today to enjoy and only a four day work week until the next day. My friend Danielle gave me this nail polish on Saturday, where we swapped beauty and other things that we didn’t want/like. I absolutely LOVE this nail polish, so thank you Dani! I love textured polishes and this one is no different. It is barbie doll pink with flecks of black and red glitter throughout. This took me only 10 minutes or less to apply two coats of it. I love quick polishes and I cannot wait to try the other textured nail polish that she gave me. Oh! I almost forgot! This is OPI Nicole Roughles in Rock The Look.
I have a quick Manicure Monday post for you and it is a pretty polish that I like to call Elsa’s fingernails from Frozen, if she could of had her nails painted a color that would match her personality. Dani calls them “Cinderella’s Glass Slippers”. Either one would be an accurate description of it.
What do you guys think? This is two coats of Rimmel London’s Sweetie Crush in 012 Blueberry Whizz. It is a sugar effects nail polish. It is similar to sand polishes, but I think that the sugar ones are extra glittery and sparkly! Happy Monday Everyone! BTW, Dani bought me this nail polish along with a few others. So, you can look forward to some never before seen colors. I want to try to do these posts more regularly. What do you think about them apples? Now, I want an apple…with feta cheese.
I am really late with Quick Tip Thursday, but my computer has been wonky and I’ve been under the weather. I’m not apologizing for having a life and that’s why I haven’t been posting, because that is not the case. Well, I mean, I do have a life, but computer troubles and feeling ill doesn’t foster feelings of creativity. I will be posting two more posts tomorrow. One will be an Ipsy post and the other will be a work related post. I did do some shopping today, but I didn’t get anything worth mentioning really like cat litter and dog food, Those types of things are not what hauls were made for. laughs Well, anyways, here is my quick tip.
Nail Polish Removal
Out of cotton balls? Are you gonna result to using q-tips? Before you go do that, do you have any socks that you want to throw out? Before you go and throw them away, how about giving them a second life as a nail polish removing cloth? Old socks are even better at removing nail polish than cotton balls that flake apart and leave fibers. A sock removes nail polish faster than tradition methods without all the mess, plus socks are reusable. You can just wash them and use them again and again. I use them all of the time for my nails. I use a sock that I also use for my sock buns. Remember when those were in style? Socks make quick work of your damaged mani and I removed mine in as little as 5 quick minutes.

Talk about a quick tip for ya! Will you be trying this out? Let me know how it goes!
Happy Monday! I hope everyone has a fabulous week and I have brand new mani to fawn over this week. I get distracted at work looking at my manicure sometimes. Is anyone else guilty of that as well? I decided to celebrate Christmas early this week with my glittery manicure. They are just so sparkly. distracted by the sparkle Here’s how I made it happen.
I applied two coats of Sinful Colors No Text Red, even though my nails really just needed one coat, it was that perfect and opaque. I then applied two coats of OPI Liquid Sand in Red. The result is a flawless sparkly dimensional manicure that is more on the pink side of red. My dad said that my nails were “hooker red”, which I rolled my eyes to. That is such a stereotype displayed on the television. That’s it for now!
