May’s Entertainment

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

I know it has been awhile, since I did one of these. I finally watched enough tv to make another one. As you know, I haven’t been feeling the greatest, so instead of reading, I have been watched tv shows and movies. I am trying to get back into the swing of reading and I have finished a book that I am trying to write a review on. I think I will write half of the review today and half tomorrow. It probably will not be uploaded until next week though. So, there is a book review in the works coming up. I am also planning to upload two more posts tomorrow: another beauty review and a Caturday post. Now, onto the Entertainment Review!

Lucy

This movie was really interesting and a mind binder. It was a psychological thriller with a lot of action to it. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t say that it was one of the best movies that I have watched. That would be a big lie. I did enjoy it though. It had a unique concept and plot. It was a bit of a letdown to all of the trailers that I watched. I thought that it was going to be better than it was. I got this at the Redbox with a buy one get one free coupon. It was worth the rental.

Dance Moms: Collection
Dance Moms
I hate that Netflix just put up the collection and not the whole series. It jumps all over the place and it isn’t enjoyable. It skips over all off the good “drama” episodes. When I want to watch trashy tv, I want to be able to follow it. They need to put up the whole seasons and put back Keeping Up With The Kardashions. Seriously. I want reality tv back on at Netflix. It would make it even better than it already is, if they bring all of those shows back. Does anyone know why they got rid of it in the first place?

Not Cool
Not Cool
Omg! One of the stupidest movies that I have watched in a while. I am glad that I waited for this to be available on Netflix, because it was so not worth it. I wanted to poke my eye out at times. It was that bad. I think that if I starred in a movie this bad, I wouldn’t be out there promoting it like Shawn Dawson did. Actually, it’s also his film, so double shame on him. He may be funny, but he has no idea how to make a movie that other people will actually want to watch.

Once: Upon A Time Season One
Once season 1
I LOVE this series! I love all the great actors and actresses that play in it. I like the plot. It feels unique and fresh, compared to all the supernatural shows that have hit the market. This is supernatural without being gimmicky. They are fairy tail stories come to life like you have never known before. I like the twist with the Beauty and the Beast the best. All of the stories are unique and it has a running plot that connects everything together seamlessly. It is one of the best tv series that I have watched this year. I watch it on Netflix and I highly recommend it.

Avengers: The Age of Ultron
Avengers-Age-of-Ultron-2015-Movie-Poster
Finally! A female superhero with better powers than anyone else’s. I really enjoyed this movie, but the graphics were laughable at best. Yes, it was action packed and worth going to the movies to see. I watched this on my birthday. It was a nice movie, but I would not see it again. It wasn’t that great off a movie that you would want to watch twice. Maybe after many years.

So, there you have it! Those are the shows that I have been watching in May. I don’t even have anything left over from May to put on June’s list, which is a first. I usually have some carry over. Maybe I will have some next week. May ain’t over yet!

Come & Get It

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

Are you guys loving my new titles? I am having fun creating them. I’ve been using song titles or lyrics and it’s been really fun getting into my more creative side. I have watched a few more movies, so I decided to do another Entertainment Monthly post. I’ve been watching more Youtube than actual movies/tv lately. I just discovered a few ones on Netflix though, so I think I can have another entertainment post up before the end of the month. I also finished one of my books for April, so I am planning to put up a review this coming Friday.

The Equalizer

The Equalizer

Okay, so I watched this movie because it has Chloe Grace Mortez in it. My dad wanted to see this movie, because it has Denzel Washington in it. We were both equally surprised at how good this movie was. It was very action packed and sucked you into the story. Of course, it had unbelievable parts in it that made me cringe, but it was otherwise very good and worth watching. There is blood and violence, so if you are sensitive to that, I would skip it. This is one of the best action packed movies that I have watched in a while.

St. Vincent

St-Vincent-Movie-Poster

I thought this was a funny and cute movie. I didn’t think it was the best that it could of be, but it is what it is. It is a crude comedy that also has a very serious side to it, which I was not expecting based on the commercials. I actually cried during this movie. Some parts were so SAD! If you are looking for laughs and a feel good movie, this one would be the one for you.

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner

After the letdown that was The Giver, I was not expecting much from The Maze Runner and I couldn’t have been more wrong. This was simply amazing and so true to the book. I am looking forward to the next movie for more explanation on what is going on. Are they the only kids left on earth or something? I want to know what is going on! I am reading these books before the movie one at a time with each movie, so I don’t spoil the suspense. lol. I know, I’m a weird one.

Left Behind

I watched this movie for Chad Michael Murray, because I have loved him since A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff in it. He was so good in this movie and everyone one’s acting was great. It was the cheap special effects that made this movie a lot less enjoyable and the fact that there will not be a sequel to it to tie up loose ends. It was a nice movie and I don’t regret watching it. I just wish it had better effects and that there would be a sequel so I can see Chad again.

The Other Woman

The Other Woman

This was just as good as Danielle told me it would be. This was so funny and very woman empowering which you don’t see enough of in Hollywood. I thought that this was sweet and I would watch it again. Kate Upton was great in this. I can really see her becoming an actress. The girl has got talent. Diaz was of course, marvelous in this, but she needs to play more roles than just all the uptight ones.

Entertainment Bimonthly: January 2.0

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

I decided to alter the title of my posts due to the fact that this month I have two entertainment posts. I don’t want anyone to be confused, so I am making the title stand out a bit. On a side note, I only have a couple of chapters left of my second January read. I review might come out in February. I am trying to get it done for this coming weekend, but we’ll see. Tomorrow, I have two unboxings planned and a subscription review. I hope to get it all done, so I can upload them that day. I am very ambitious with my blog. Now, since this is what all of you wanted, let’s get to it!

Gossip Girl Season 3

s3poster

Wow. So many things happened in this season I do not know where to start. I love Chuck and Blair and I wish that things could finally fall into place for them. Then, it does, but it all falls to pieces anyway. I know that we are supposed to like Dan and Serena. But did anyone else get sick of them in this season? I just thought that they were fake and I was over it. I loved Jenny! I am so sad that this is her last season on the show! I don’t really care for Nate. I felt like he was there but not really. His character didn’t do anything noteworthy. And those are my thoughts on season three. I thoroughly enjoyed it through all of its faults. I watched this on Netflix with my 8 USD a month membership.

My Babysitter’s A Vampire (The Movie)

My Babysitter's A Vampire

I thought that this was a cute movie with a great story line. Some movies for children I still enjoy on the Disney channel or Nickelodeon. I love how this was a comedy and a bit spooky at the same time. It was exciting and unique with a bit of a twist. It got me interested into trying the tv series. I’ll let you know how that goes. If you want to watch a cute movie with your children, this is a good one (having children not required to enjoy this feature film). I watched this on Netflix as well.

Tammy

IlluminatiWatcherDotCom-Tammy-Movie-Poster-666-hand-gesture

I loved this hilariously crude comedy! McCarthy is a real star in this film. That being said, I think that there was still something missing from this movie. A true purpose perhaps? I don’t know, there is just something extra missing from this movie. Don’t get me wrong! I still loved this movie and everything that came with it. This is a fun movie to watch for a few laughs, but that is about all that you will get out of it. I rented this from Redbox for free, because I signed up for their Play Pass Book. It rewards you for being a member, giving you more coupon codes and free rentals.

Glee Season 1

Glee Season one

I love GLEE! I don’t know why I haven’t gotten into this show earlier. I guess, I just thought that this show was stupid, but I see just how dumb I was being. I love musicals and this is like a musical in every episode. I don’t like all of the songs, but I know all of them if that counts. I enjoy all of the characters in the show. Everyone is so diverse and the plot is so funny, but it does touch upon some heavy subjects. All in all, this is a great show and I am already halfway into season two. I also watched this on Netflix.

Secret of the Wings

I was bored one day and I wasn’t feeling too well. My dad was out with his friends, so I decided to cuddle up in a blanket with my three favorite girls to watch a movie. I searched for Lucy Hale and this movie came up. I thought that this movie was very cute and I enjoyed it. I liked listening to Lucy Hale’s voice and my dogs were into the movie as well. Eve is a tv watcher. She actually stares at the images that flicker across the screen. This is a cute movie and if you are looking for that, this will satisfy you. I watched this on Netflix.

Dollhouse by Kourtney, Kim, & Khloe Kardashian

I bought another book that I thought would be interesting to read and that is also celebrity inspired and written. This book was discounted at 4.99 USD from the list price of 19.99 USD. I used my SYWR points as well as my discount to bring my total with tax down to 4.24 USD. I think this book will be entertaining, since the story is loosely based on their real lives. I really love their series on tv that I binge watch on Netflix. I need to get Netflix again to be able to watch my trashy shows privately, since my dad and boyfriend are very disapproving of that kind of television, aka my kind of television, which I personally believe is better than theirs, aka sports. I need to stop buying books in the mean time, my bookshelf is full.
