Empties: The December Edit

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

It is that time again! I cannot believe that 2014 is gone and it is now 2015! I am super excited about all of the firsts that come along with the new year. I am also changing up my life and my self for the new year. I am…..wait for it……going BLONDE! That’s right, gurus! I am going from my dishwater/dark blonde hair to a medium blonde. I might get a haircut, too. Right now, my hair touches my belt and I haven’t had long hair like this since hair school. I might layer it or something. It depends upon how my consultation goes with my hairdresser. We are going to be deciding on the exact color and cut. I don’t know how much it will cost me, but I am expecting a cut and color to range from 70 to 100 USD from my hair dresser. He usually charges me 35 for a haircut and 50 for all over highlights. If I get both, he’ll probably give me a discount deal. I leave him a good tip, so if he can get me in fast and give me a deal, he could easily pocket a 30 USD tip. He owns his own chair, so he could give free haircuts and the salon couldn’t do anything. I’ve been with him since I was twelve, so I’ve known him for almost eleven years. I’m not bragging or anything. Salon’s range in price everywhere you go. I go to a bigger city to my stylist, but he still charges me a small time price. Well, onto my empties for the last month of 2014.

Since every empty product gets its own review, I do not include reviews on my empties posts. Have a Happy Friday, everyone!

Fresh From Le Press: Influenster

The Dean’s List VoxBox

Voxbox

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

It was only a short time ago that I was notified that I would be receiving the Dean’s List VoxBox and sharing that with Dani, who is also getting the same VoxBox. A fat that is very exciting for me, because I will have someone to share in my excitement! I feel so lucky and blessed! I want to take a moment and thank the lovely people at Influenster for making VoxBoxes possible and for free to boot! Although, let’s be honest, some of the boxes, I would pay to try. They should look into creating a subscription service.

On a side note, I would like to express my displeasure that Walmart bought out Luvocracy, which was total bull-crap and they basically did nothing with the site. They just wanted to kill it. Did anyone else luv Luvoracy before Walmart? I’m super sad and mad beyond belief. le sigh

On a brighter note, I have started a new series called “Fresh From Le Press” for all of the free press products that I receive to review on my blog. I’m not doing this to brag. I am doing this to be as transparent as possible with all of you. If it has that title, I received it in exchange for an honest review. I’m not blindly endorsing any of these products. I even will state in the post that I received something for free, but that all opinions are my own. Now, let’s keep that in mind as I continue.

I received this box of goodies free from Influenster in exchange for an honest review. So, here are the goodies that I received!

The Box:

VoxBox

The box is a good compact size. I definitely didn’t think it was full with this much stuff!

The Card:

The Card

#DLVoxBox will be my most popular hast tag for awhile as I try all of these products for the first time. Everything is totally new to me, so rest assured, I am not already biased towards any of the products. I like how on the back of the card, it lists the products you are getting and a little bit about each one, so you really get introduced to the new product you are getting without having to do extensive online researching. cough Ipsy cough

Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes in 60484 KFL02, 1 pair for $3.99 USD

Kiss LashesKiss Lashes

I cannot wait to try out these false lashes. I am going to be trying them out tomorrow and I will let you know what I think of them. They are supposed to be more natural looking due to the tapered ends, but it is kind of hard to believe that other lashes do not have this shape. I guess, I’ll find out when I try it. It is also supposed to feel like you aren’t wearing false lashes and are super soft. I have never tried false lashes before, so it will be an adventure for sure as well as an experience.

Softlips Cube 5-in-1 Lip Care in Fresh Mint, 0.23 oz for 3.49 USD

lip balmlip balm

I believe that this is supposed to be a dupe for EOS lip balm, but at its price, its not a dupe but an alternative since they are the same price. This lip balm has SPF in it, which is always nice during the warmer months or if you spend a lot of time outdoors. The lip balm promises to hydrate, replenish, smooth, protect, and add shine to your lips with its lip perfecting technology. I just opened the packaging and smelled the lip balm. It smells exactly like my Revo [knock off EOS] lip balm in peppermint. It applies on the same, which is very smoothly and my lips got that tingly feeling that mint tends to have on your skin. I like it, but the Walgreens brand beats Softlips with its price. This is definitely heavier than the EOS as well. If you are not a fan of the EOS, Softlips is still worth a try as a nice simple moisturizer for your lips.

Pilot FriXion Clicker 07 in Blue & Black, 2 for $5.75

pens

First off, I love how it came with a $1 off coupon, just in case I love it to make the first purchase cheaper. I love pens, a lot. These are fun and a cool concept that works. Remember how erasable pens were all the rage? Yeah, they have it finally perfected. These are gel ink pens that erase from the heat of rubbing the rubberized end against the page. I think that these pens would be brilliant for blogging, since I love the smoothness from the gel ink when writing and it takes less pressure to have the ink run my words. I love the design of the pens as well. I just love trying out new pens. It is a passion of mine. I am a total pen snob. No ball point pens for me…unless they are decorative.

Luden’s Watermelon Throat Drops, 25 ct for 1.49 USD

dropsdrops

You can only buy this at Target, which is a bit of a bummer, because the closest one to me is fifteen miles away. This new flavor is super yummy! It tastes like watermelon sherbet ice cream by Friendlies. This tastes better than your average throat drops that are laced with medicinal undertones. Luden’s just tastes like candy, but do not be deceived. It does contain medicine Now, I do not have a sore throat, so I cannot say, if it does work or not. It does taste great, though, like the packaging claims.

The Softlips does have a coupon for $1.00 off that was hiding under those cough drops! Now, that I have a coupon. I will probably be picking one up, if I continue to enjoy it.

Sinful Colors No Text Red, 0.5 fl oz for 1.99 USD

red nail polishcardcard

For some reason, I thought that this brand was more expensive. The quality is very high end for something so cheap. I like that the color has a movement behind it. I will be using this for my next manicure and join the movement. There is not much to say about this nail polish until I put it to the test. Stay Tuned!

Air Heads Bites in Fruit, 2 oz for 1.29 USD

Air Heads

I never really liked the sticky taffy like texture of air heads, so I am interested in trying the bite sized candy to see what all of the fuss was about growing up about this candy. I never see this stuff anymore, so I didn’t know that Air Heads were still a thing. I’ll let you know how they are, when I treat myself to it.

Playtex Sport Fresh Balance Tampons in Regular, 16 ct for 3.99 USD

tamponstampons

Not to be weird or anything, but these smell so fresh and flowery. Lol. I really want to try these after I read the box. The tampon itself is shaped more like a cup instead of a stick. I always found that regular tampons didn’t work for me, so maybe these will be better for me. Now, I’ll just have to wait for Aunt Flo to come around. I am very irregular since stopping my birth control. I actually might have a hormonal imbalance since I haven’t had a natural period this year. I had a chemically induced one  three months ago and nothing since then. And no, I’m not pregnant that has been ruled out by my doctor (kind of impossible when you aren’t having sex). So, I don’t know when I’ll get to try this, but I will have it until then. Who knows? I may be a tampon girl after all! #failwhitegirl.

So, that is everything that I got in my VoxBox. I’m so excited about all of these products. The total worth of this box was 21.99 USD and I paid nada. I love it! Stay tuned to my blog for upcoming reviews on all of these products. And I would like to thank Influenster again for supplying all of these products for me to test.

With Love,
