Skincare Collection 2018

So, moving along with my series, here is all of my backup skin care products waiting in the wings to be used. Everything I am currently using is not a part of this inventory, only back stock of items that tend to be dust collectors for a while. I have a few bits that will need to be bought throughout the year, but for the most part, I am covered and won’t need to buy much skincare this year.

Serums

serum

I only have this Lior Gold Wrinkle Remover Serum to use up before I can buy more serums. I currently have 4 serums open, so it might be a whole while before I get to use this bad boy. I love using serums for different reasons, so I have 4 or 5 open that are all different and I use base on how my skin looks that day/night.

Masks

I have four unopened masks here and I have 5 open masks currently in my collection. As soon as I have room in my beauty cabinet, I will put one of these beauties in there. Like the serums, all of my masks are different opened and unopened. I have hydration masks, plumping masks, pore clearing masks, resurfacing masks, and acne masks. I really want to try the peel one, because I don’t have an exfoliating masks open at the moment. I really want to open the L’Oreal one too. I just love masks! I try to mask every other day. I usually mask 2 to 3 times a week, 4 if I happen to be really good about it.

Moisturizer

moisturizer

I have a few deluxe sized eye creams now in storage from my last two Play boxes, but this is all the full size items that I have in storage. I have already cracked the oil open, so that is no longer in storage. I will be in the market for a face cream in the summer. I like to use oils at night and a light weight cream/gel during the day. I have oily skin so I could never use an oil during the day. I feel really good about this category. I’m hoping that next year I won’t have any serious back stock of most of these categories. I am really being strict with myself on only having one backup, so I’m not buying anything until I crack open the last one in each category.

Sunscreen

I have my two facial sunscreens, a sample body sunscreen, and the Smart Stuff sunscreen that I like to put in Dean’s hair and on my body. I will be using up my serum. I think it only has a couple of uses left and the Clinique will be used up this summer. Summer is the only season I use a dedicated SPF. The rest of the year, I use daily moisturizer with SPF in it and if my current moisturizer does not have spf, I make sure that I use a sunscreen on top. I only use body sunscreen in the summer though or if I am going to be outside for a long period of time with exposed limbs.

My skincare stash is much smaller than last year, so that makes me really happy. I am hoping to be all downsized in skin care next year, but we shall see. I want to try the minimalist lifestyle that works for me, which I want to be less of a consumer and more of a thoughtful one. I have been using up extras, consigning clothes, and decluttering junk. Already this year, my house looks different. More organized and clean. More appealing to the eye and less of a sore. There is still so much to do, but buying my own house in the next couple of years should help that. Not buying extras is helping, too. My kitchen needs more organization. Any tips?

December Empties

Instead of saying another month gone, I’ll say another year gone this time around. I believe the older you are, the faster time seems to go by. Time never went by this fast when I was in high school. It only ever went fast when I was actually enjoying my life. Now, days that drag and days that fly, all seem to go at the same pace. Sounds cliche and maybe it is but it is also the truth. I would never go back in time. I want to always be moving forward, never going back. For the new year empties, I am going to be trying a new style of empty posts. Stay tuned until Feb to see the new empties.

December was a light month for me and January is already looking better. I have been decluttering some makeup products here and there that are just not good anymore. As I go throughout the year, I plan on decluttering anything that I don’t like that I know are recent products to friends and anything else can and will be thrown away. It’s time for a new me that doesn’t keep products around just to have them.

Proactiv Solution Refining Mask
N/A US DOLLARS

4 out of 5 stars

Disclaimer: I recieved this from a friend who ordered Proactiv and is allergic to sulfur.

As an aside, I have been ill for the past few days, which was why I did not post anything new. I am feeling much better now and will be posting a little more often hopefully, until Julamorous where I will be posting everyday.

1. Usage: Since this was a tiny squeeze tube, I used this as a overnight spot treatment. I just put a little bit of this product covering all of my problem blemishes and rinsed it off in the morning. Although it says to dampen skin, I did not do it, because I was using this as a spot treatment. 4 out of 5 stars

2. Packaging: The squeeze tube does not look exciting or attractive. It is a white tube that stands up on its cap with green print. I like the packaging, because it looks serious and professional for an acne medication/treatment. 3 out of 5 stars

3. Scent: Sulfur is a very distinctive smell. It is something you either like, hate, or simply tolerate. I actually love the smell. It smells very fresh and medicinal, but I wouldn’t say herbal. 5 out of 5 stars

4. Performance: The product is a really great spot treatment. I put it on my blemishes at night and in the morning, the redness and swelling is significantly down. The blemish appears smaller and less noticeable. If I feel a blemish coming on, this stuff totally kills it and it never surfaces. The consistency of this product is very lumpy, but it sticks to the skin. A bit rubs off during the night, but that’s okay. I clean my pillow cases almost everyday. 5 out of 5 stars

5. Ingredients: The worst thing about this product is that it contains parabens and artificial fragrance. Since I am on a paraben-free kick, I will not be repurchasing this product again. The reason I say this is because of this product’s great performance, I purchased two full-sized tubes of this. I will be using this up, but I will not purchase it again. 1 out of 5 stars

6. Results: The fabulous performance of this product makes me wish that it did not have parabens. This really is a great product, if you do not mind parabens. I recently made the switch to only buying paraben-free products, but I am still using up products that contain them. 3 out of 5 stars

Overall, this product gets 3.8 out of 5 stars. It is an excellent anti-blemish product minus the parabens. I look forward to finishing up the rest of my bottles up. Feel free to comment and request anything.
