Not That Simple

For Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer

What it is: A rich moisturizer for sensitive skin that lasts twelve hours.

Ingredients: ? Doesn’t say on the bottle.

How it feels/smells/looks: This does not have any scent in it that I can detect. The lotion is thin and a bit watery, but feels rich when patted into the skin.

Why I like it: I love that it is made with sensitive skin in mind with no added fragrance or dyes. I used this during the winter and it did a great job of keeping my skin hydrated. I would have repurchased it, if I had not bought the Cetaphil. I love the Cetaphil one even more than Simple, because the moisturizer is even more hydrating without making the skin greasy and it also contains SPF 15. After a few minutes, your skin is left mostly matte which is simply amazing. I still really enjoyed this Simple moisturizer, but Cetaphil is just way better in my opinion. That being said, Simple can be used night and day, whereas the Cetaphil one can be used during the day since SPF can clog pores if left on overnight and why would you need SPF overnight anyways? I recommend both of these products.

Sample Wednesday: Avene

For Avene Eau Thermale Thermal Spring Water

Toner: Eau Thermale Avene

What It Is: A soothing, softening, hypoallergenic water spray toner for sensitive skin.

Key Ingredient: This only has two ingredients: water and nitrogen. Nitrogen is not good for the environment, so I would not buy this for myself personally. At least, this has skin yummy ingredients and no harsh chemicals. Hurrah!

How It Feels/Smells/Looks: The spray toner is scent-free and feels refreshing on the skin. It is a clear, powerful sprayer. It does not give a fine mist. It gives a “harder” mist that is still delicate enough not to leave your face dripping. It is hard to explain, but I found the mist to be more fine than its non-aerosol counterparts that can spray a “glob” of water on your face and ruin your makeup.

Why I Like It: I found this toner to be refreshing on a hot summer’s day, but it did not do anything special for my skin. I would not repurchase it mainly, because I want my toners to actually “do” something or to be beneficial to my skin in some way. I am also trying my own hand at mixing up toners with different levels of success. I may actually have found the perfect formula and I’ll let you guys know as soon as I have confirmed that. Anyway, this toner was nice to try out and was very cooling during the warm summer months.
