Walmart Fall Beauty Box 2017

The Fall box was so late and the Winter boxes were supposed to start mailing out on Dec 21st. I haven’t heard anything about the Winter boxes, but I’m guessing that those will be very late and out of season as well. If the boxes don’t get better next year with the customization added to it, I will probably cancel. I hate that it’s a season behind and the fact that I was charged for almost a whole month before it shipped. It’s annoying.

At only $5 a box and $20 a year, I can’t really complain, but then again, I can. I paid $5 for something that didn’t ship out to me until almost a month after I was charged. I always keep these boxes, but then, I have NOTHING to put in them. I will save this box, because it is purple. I’m sure I’ll be recycling it in a few months when it is still empty. lol.

hairspray

Tresemme Tres Two Spray Extra Hold Hairspray, 1.5 oz for $2.17

I needed some hairspray since I am totally out. Right now, I am using a gel that is like a hairspray. I have to say that I like hairspray better than gel, especially when it is a lighter hold hairspray. Although this is an extreme hold, I’m still happy to have a mini hairspray around. I just hate the little dandruff like pieces it leaves in my hair after brushing my hair. I have to wash my hair after using this, so I tend to use something like this on the night that I wash my hair.

toothpaste

Hello Extra Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste, 0.85 oz for $4.43

I was surprised to see just how expensive this brand is. My toothpaste is on it’s last legs, so this came just in time to try. If I see results, I would keep buying, because the name brand ones just aren’t working that well. The mini is almost the same price as the big one, so at least I know that it would be $5 for a big tube. I would spend that if it worked. Plus, a full sized toothpaste lasts like 6 months for just me using it.

mouth

Plackers Micro Mint Dental Flossers for $0.97

I already have a big pack of these at home. It is by far the easiest way to floss my teeth, especially with the metal bar in my mouth. This travel pack is nice to have in my bag at work, so I can floss after having my lunch if I feel like there is food stuck in my teeth. I can also easily refill it with more flossers from the big bag at home. This is really nice to have around instead of a roll of floss. I don’t need a mirror with these to floss my teeth.

lotion

Gold Bond Ultimate Radiance Renewal Cream Oil, 0.75 oz for $0.97

I put this in Dean’s pile for his dry skin. We are almost out of his Aveno, so he needs something else for the dry skin on his legs. I usually put Johnson baby lotion from head to toe and then put Aveno or this Gold Bond on his dry and rashy parts. He gets heat rash a lot and he has bumpy dry skin. I do this routine every night before bed and clean clothes. Keeping him out of sweaty clothes helps, but he has very dry Winter skin. He wasn’t nearly this bumpy and rashy in the summer.

Body Fantasies in Tropical Wish & Cozy Cotton

Perfume samples are “eh” to me, but I will use them. I appreciate that these have caps, so you can take them on the go with you. I’ll throw these in my sample bag for now. I like that this box has tons of coupons and although I won’t use this one, it’s nice to have.

hair

Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Shampoo & Curl Enhancing Smoothie foil packets

My hair isn’t thick, so I will be passing these on. I think this will be too heavy for my thin hair. If something is too heavy, it makes my hair look greasy the day after washing. The conditioner is very generous compared to the shampoo, which is very nice.

mask

Soo Ae Donkey Milk Sleeping Mask for $0.50

My local store have these masks for 50 cents currently. I went by current my store prices for the price of my box. I love getting sheet masks in my box. I have used the sheet mask from the summer box and I really liked it. I look forward to having the time to use up this mask as well. I’m curious…..oh….wait, this isn’t a sheet mask, but an overnight mask! I am pleasantly surprised! I haven’t tried a sleeping mask yet. I’m very excited! I’ll use this when my skin is feeling extra dry. Perfect for the Winter months.

My box had plenty of samples and coupons. The box overall feels more put together than my previous two boxes. The value of my box was $9.07 which is $4.07 more than I paid for, which is good enough for me. I am looking forward to a customized Winter box in the coming month or so.

Walmart Haul

Well, I went shopping last week and I came home with quite a few things for Dean. He is starting to eat finger foods, so I bought a few snacks. I also got a few other random items. I want to let all of my readers know that from September on, I will be posting a minimum of two posts a week on Saturday and Sunday. I am starting my Associates Degree in Information Technology. I finally decided that I want to be an IT professional and have the option to work from home. So, I will be starting a course in a couple of weeks and my final will be on/near December 15th. To the haul!

food

Gerber Graduates Lil’ Crunchies in Mild Cheddar

These are like Cheetos for your baby, but a bit better with added vitamins and minerals. He loves to snack on these at lunch time, when I am eating my lunch. He gets his purees after I am done eating. He’ll have two of these at lunch and would probably eat more if I gave it to him. He’s still getting used to eating solid food, so I’m kinda nervous to give him more than a couple.

food

Happy Baby Organic Teethers in Sweet Potato & Banana

These are too big and dry to give to a baby! I got cotton mouth eating this product. I plan on eating the rest of these. It is not safe for Dean to eat. I thought that these would be good for teething, but they dry up my mouth and I don’t trust them. He also didn’t seem to like them. They have no flavor.

food

Gerber Graduates Yogurt Melts in Banana Vanilla

These are super yummy, but Dean is not sold on them yet. He eats one of these at lunch time cut in half to minimize the chance of choking until he gets the hang of solid food. These really do melt in your mouth. I’ve had a few as a snack and they are addicting. I have to snack on his monthly snack food or they will get stale. August was the first month of buying snacks. In September, I will buy him different flavors of these Gerber foods, which have been a hit!

Mints

Ice Breakers Cool Blasts Wintergreen Chews

I like these mints, but the “chew” part is a gimmick. It’s basically like a soft mint. You could NEVER mistake this for gum after the first “bite” or “chew”. I prefer the original mints or the gum with the liquid in the middle. I wouldn’t repurchase this.

sippy cup

Tommee Tippee Trainer Sippee Cups

He doesn’t understand how to use a sippy cup, yet. It will take practice. For now, I have him practicing drinking milk out of a regular plastic cup in the tub when he has his bath, which is every other day unless he has a diaper blowout on the odd day. I like these sippy cups, because they have soft spouts. He seems to like and understand drinking from a cup. He drinks when I hold it for him. He doesn’t hold it himself yet.

Cover Girl Clean Professional Loose Finishing Powder in 105 Translucent Fair

I really like this powder. It was a decent price at 5 USD and it goes on clear. I like it for mattifying my glowy bb creams to less of a disco ball shine. It gives a natural looking finish that is not matte. I use this after my foundation/bb cream and use my highlighter, blush, and bronzer on top of this product. I’ve never had a problem with powder products not laying right on the skin on top of this. Cream products even seem to do well.

toothpaste

Crest 3D White Toothpaste in Arctic Fresh

I want whiter teeth, so I thought that this would be a good edition to my whitening oral rinse. I even have a toothbrush that is supposed to make your whitening toothpaste work better. I like the flavor and the toothpaste itself looks like something out of Frozen. It is light blue and sparkly! My favorite. I love robins egg blue and silver together.

toothbrush

Baby Buddy Baby’s 1st Toothbrush in Blue-Green

Dean loves to teeth on this toothbrush. I have the satisfaction of knowing that his teeth and gums are being taken care of. I put a bit of cleansing paste on it in the morning and at night. Otherwise, it has nothing on it the rest of the day that he uses it. He took right to it and thinks that its just a new neat toy. I highly recommend getting this for your little one. It teaches good habits.

toy

Lil’ Fishys Motorized Water Pets

This was in the clearance aisle and I couldn’t pass it up for only 3 USD. Dean loves playing with this in the tub. He does try to put it in his mouth, but I am teaching him how to catch and release the fish. He has fun with it after being scared of it initially.

Well, those are the things that I have picked up lately at Walmart. Have you picked up anything interesting lately?

A Whiter Smile

Listerine Whitening Freshening Whitening Rinse in Refresh
Around 8 US DOLLARS
32 fl oz

Exif_JPEG_422
4 out of 5 stars

FTC Disclaimer: All opinions are my own and I bought this with my own money.

1. Usage: I did not realize that when I bought this that it was a before you brush your teeth rinse. I filled the liquid to the line in the cap and swished it around my teeth. I think that I got around 6 months worth of nightly usage with forgetting some nights and some times doing it in the morning. I would have prefered a regular mouth wash, but I wanted a whitening effect. I won’t get a huge bottle next time. I think the taste was starting to worsen this last month. I want to buy one every three months to avoid bacteria growth if contaminated. 3 out of 5 stars

2. Packaging: This is a mouthwash people! Plain is way better. You will pay less for simple packaging and more for the actual product. I like the simplicity of Listerine and that the bottle is opaque unlike other mouthwashes. Being opaque protects the product from expiring faster from direct sunlight. The bottle is easy to grip as well. 5 out of 5 stars

3. Scent: The smell of this mouthwash is very strong and the taste can sting your taste buds in an unpleasant way. As long as I see results, I will endure the pain. This is a strong product, not for the faint of heart. 4 out of 5 stars

4. Performance: This product foams up in your mouth as you swish it around, so do not be surprised if it gets harder to swish as you go along. I have noticed a decrease in surface stains and my teeth are definitely whiter. They are not that bright blue-white smile that are artificial looking. It’s the kind of white that people compliment you on taking care of your teeth, not asking you where you got your teeth whitened. I like the subtle white better. When I have more money, I might try out the Crest Whitening kit for my blog followers. 5 out of 5 stars

5. Ingredients: The only ingredient I do not like on this very short list is sodium lauryl sulfate, since I am trying to go chemical sulfate-free. I will try to shop around for one that does not contain sls, but if not, I will probably try Crest White mouth wash to compare, because Crest is the cheaper of the two. Other than that, I have no complaints. 4 out of 5 stars

6. Results: I love te results that tis mouthwash gave me. I am a daily coffee drinker and not looking like one is amazing! If I can treat and prevent yellowing, I will do it. I mean, who wouldn’t if they could afford it? I can fit oral hygiene in my budget, since a smile can be life changing. [Loving my Eucalyptus Mint candle right now. It’s keeping me on track as I write this.] I would recommend this product, if you do not mind sulfates and a really strong taste. It works and is worth the money. 4 out of 5 stars

Overall, I give this product 4.1 out of 5 stars. I want to see if there is a sulfate-free product out there that would be five stars for me. This one came pretty darn close though.
