Hey guys! I know it has been a couple of weeks since Black Friday, but I am just now getting to sharing what I bought from Bath & Body Works. I’m still figuring out my furniture, so I won’t be sharing that until another week or so. Also, Aunt Flo came early this month, so I’m a bit bitchy as well. I was so tired at work last Friday and I got sick of being asked “Are you okay?” and “Wow, you’re in a bad mood.” Like seriously?! Just because I don’t talk 50 miles an hour and am more quite doesn’t make me bitchy or moody or whatever. You asking that and stating that makes me bitchy. lol.
Let’s get on with the haul and to hell with my moody self. I paid $64.43 for my whole haul. $3.44 for tax and $5.99 for shipping. I’m going to break down what I got and see how much I saved during Black Friday. I hit the buy 3 get 3 sale and the Black Friday tote for $25. I’m curious to see how much I saved during this sale.
To start, I bought 12 mini candles and half of them were free. They were $5 a piece, so with the sale they became $2.50 a piece. So, right here I saved $30 dollars. Yes, I spent $30 on candles, because they are worth it. They burn for 10 hours and I usually burn my candles for 2 hours at a time. Each candle has about 5 uses for me and since I only use them on days off or the weekends, they will last me a while.
Notes for each candle and my first impression sniff of them:
Make It Rein: Eucalyptus Mint
It is a sweeter version of Stress Relief, which is an aromatherapy scent at B&BW. I have someone in mind to gift this to and I think it will make her smile. I won’t be keeping this.
Bee Bright: Caramelized Honey, Apple Butter, Cinnamon
I just smell really sweet honey with this one. I really love the sweet scent and this is something that I would burn during a relaxing bath. It just seems like a scent that I could relax to. I cannot believe how stinking cute these little candles are! The official candle name for this one is Pumpkin and Honey. I had to tear off the wrapping to find out that and the list of notes. All of these candles are sold out and removed from B&BW website.
The Elf Made Me Do It: Crushed Peppermint, Homemade Marshmallow, Confection Sugar
Peppermint Marshmallow was a scent that I liked the name of so much that I bought two of them on a whim. It is the perfect amount of sweet and mint. I’m going to have a hard time burning these, because I love the scent so much. I miss how amazing these candles smell. DAMN YOU BATH AND BODY WORKS!
I Tried: Iced Peppermint, Vanilla, Sugar Musk
Twisted Peppermint is another peppermint one, but this one is way more pepperminty. It smells like Candy Cane Lane Tea. It’s a good balance of peppermint and vanilla. I am really enjoying the scents that I picked up so far. They are all different from each other and I am glad that I have their “real” names. I can pick up my favorites next year. I’m not buying any more candles, until I use up most of these ones.
‘Tis The Season: Apple, Cinnamon, Clove, Pine Needles
The only candle so far that is actually it’s name. lol I love how light this candle is. This would a great candle for when you are cuddled up in bed reading a good book. It is a cozy apple pie scent. Great for smelling by the fire watching a movie. Basically, this is a good vibes candle that is light and refreshing.
Frosted Cranberry: Cranberries, Currant, Vanilla, Woods
Another candle that is it’s name and smells like a woodsy forest filled with cranberries. It has the sweet but woodsy scent. This is something that I would light while studying for college or something that I would light at night during a movie. I would probably even light this during the day while cleaning and organizing. It isn’t my favorite, but I appreciate it.
Naughty: Spiced Gingerbread, Vanilla Icing, Cinnamon Sugar, Nutmeg
Spiced Gingerbread smells nice and light. It is definitely a kitchen scent and would smell like baking gingerbread men. The spice is strong in this one, but I really like it. So far, I have really liked the scent of all the candles that I bought.
Fresh Balsam: Eucalyptus, Pine, Sandalwood
The Eucalyptus really carries the pine scent well and the sandalwood adds some more forest notes to the scent. It smells like a real Christmas tree. I don’t have a balsam this year, but a Fenty tree that has more citrus notes in addition to the pine. So, this is nice to burn on Christmas morning when I want that real true Christmas tree scent to fill the air. It would be perfect on a cozy snowy day.
Cinnamon Caramel Swirl: Cinnamon, Caramel, Whipped Vanilla
This smells exactly like a coffee cake or one of those big cinnamon buns from Dunkin’ Donuts. Or some kind of sugary cereal from my youth. Another spicy, bakery scent that would be good to burn in the kitchen. It smells like sweet cinnamon french toast with maple syrup on it. I will definitely be buying more candles in the future. I just have to wait for deals. These candles smell delicious!
Bah Humbug: Mahogany, Dark Oak, Frosted Lavender
Mahogany Teakwood is a fantastic dark scent. I really want this in the full size. This smells absolutely manly and I love it. It’s a sexy scent and I’m looking forward to burning this in my room. There is a hint of citrus that adds just the right amount of freshness. My dad is a big fan of this scented candle as well. It’s the perfect scent to burn after Dean goes to bed and I want to do homework, laundry, read, ANYTHING. It is the perfect room scent and I will be looking for the full size after I get down to a few of these candles.
Champagne Toast: Champagne, Tangerine, Vanilla Extract
This is a refreshing bubbly fruity scent that is VERY sweet. I’m not sure that I would pick this one up again. Don’t get me wrong, I love sweet scents. I have a funny feeling though that this could potentially be headache inducing. I love smells it out of the glass. It kinda reminds me out sweet tarts. I will probably burn this on Christmas morning while Dean is opening presents. It seems like a good scent for that.
Next up is the Black Friday tote that I bought for $25. It states that it is $115 value. Let’s see if we get close to that number. I chose the Blush, which looks pinkier in person. It is very much true to its name, but maybe a touch more pink than blush.
Now, let’s get to the contents of that VIP box and start counting! I am super excited to show you what I got inside of that box!
Champagne Toast 3 Wick Candle $26.50
This Champagne Toast is different from the mini! This one has fragrance notes of Pink Champagne, Fresh Nectarine, and Winter Blackcurrant. I love this one better. It is still really sweet, but it has a freshness to it and I absolutely LOVE the candle itself. I will be reusing this because of the glitter lid. It is just too pretty to throw out. I’ll find something to keep in here. Possible hair clips or cheap jewelry.
Aromatherapy Recharge Sage + Mint Body Wash & Foam Bath $13.50
This smells absolutely amazing! It is a minty earthy scent that I find really refreshing. I haven’t tried that much from the aromatherapy line and I am happy to have received products from that line. They are usually on the pricey side, but this seems reasonably priced. I will probably be using this more as a body wash than as a foaming bath. I don’t take that many baths these days and when I do, I want a Lush bath. When I run out of Lush, I would consider using this in the bath.
Aromatherapy Recharge Moisturizing Body Cream $15.50
Again, this has the same scent and I love the moisturizing body cream from B&BW. It is something that I use during the Winter and I wouldn’t use this during the summer. It provides a lot of moisture and hydration to the skin. I may have oily skin, but my skin can and does get dry and chapped during the winter. Having nice moisturizing products like these really help my winter skin stay healthy. I’m currently working on a few things, so I probably won’t get to use this until next winter.
Winter Candy Apple Super Smooth Body Lotion $5.50
This has a nice wintery scent that I can see a lot of people enjoying. It is also a nice size to travel with during the holidays if you are going somewhere. I would never pay the $5 for this though, when I can get a full size for essentially $6 more. I’m glad that they threw this into the bag though. I love Christmas scents or the holiday releases.
Winter Candy Apple PocketBac $2.75
Again, this is cute and great for the holidays. I love the glittery holder!
Heart of Gold Berry Sweet Hand Cream $4
I love the sweet berry scent of this hand cream. I really need hand creams too. It is getting cold out and my hands are getting dry. I need to have a hand cream at my desk instead of a mini body lotion. The body lotion is great during summer for occasional dryness, but I’m applying it multiple times a day now. I’m putting this at my desk immediately.
So, all the products in the bag have a value of $67.75. That makes the actual bag worth $47.25. I think that is a bit much. I would say its a $30 bag. I think that the actual value of this is more like $100 than $115. It isn’t that far off though and most definitely worth the $25 that I paid for it.
That was my Black Friday Haul from B&BW. I have my furniture to show you still, my Walmart Fall box just came in the mail, and my VS hauls came in as well!
With Love,
❤ Selena Hannah ❤
