Skincare Backstock Collection 2019

I am doing an updated skincare backstock update for 2019. This is all skincare not currently in rotation. I do have a bunch of skin care out, don’t you worry. This bin contains face masks that have been in and out of rotation, but masks tend to last longer. They are in backstock until I get some older ones used up first and then, I’ll add these ones back in. Back stock is anything that is not currently in my skincare rotation. I need to keep myself accountable with what I have and use that up before deciding to buy new skincare. There are only a couple of categories that I have only one item in use of. I am allowing myself to purchase anything that doesn’t have a replacement in backstock. I have three backstock bins that I am hoping to consolidate into two by the end of the year. Without further ado, these are all of the products waiting to be cycled into rotation.

20190528_163037.jpg

CLINIQUE Pep-Start Daily UV Protector

This will be added shortly to my summer project pan, because it needs to be used up this year. I don’t like this sunscreen as it makes my oily skin oiler. It has some sort of emollient in it that leaves a greasy residue that never absorbs all the way into my skin. It might be made for drier skin types. It is slightly tinted. I am confident that I will be able to use this up during the summer as long as I wear it everyday.

20190528_163019.jpg

ELF Daily Hydration Moisturizer

I plan on pulling this one in when I am done with my mattifying moisturizer, which I feel doesn’t do much. I bought two moisturizers when I previously did an ELF haul. I feel good having a backup for a daily moisturizer. I haven’t found my holy grail yet. I think I will try PIXI or a brand from Sephora unless this one blows me away.

20190528_163001.jpg

Beauty 360 Brightening Radiance Facial Mask

I haven’t even opened this one yet, so it will remain unopened for the rest of this year more than likely. I have other masks opened in backstock and I will go through those before this one. I am excited to try this one. If it is a sleeping mask, it might get opened this year. This is the only sleeping mask that I have in backstock at the moment. I don’t need to buy masks for a looooong time. I am well stocked with every kind.

20190528_162635.jpg

SOO AE Donkey Milk Sleeping Mask

So, this is just a sachet packet. I will probably use it up this year, when I want to take a break from sheet masks and do something a little different. Right now, I have two sleeping masks open though. This won’t be utilized for a while. I am looking forward to trying it out though. I love what masks do for my skin. I have oily skin, but if I keep it hydrated, it tends to be more combination. Also, as I am getting closer to my 28th year, my face seems to be getting drier. I am taking that as a good sign. I would love to be combo instead of an oil slick in my t-zone.

20190528_162656.jpg

Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Soap Facial Cleanser

I started using this, but then decided to work on my deluxe size cleansers. They were piling up! I am down to my last two deluxe sized cleansers, so I will be picking this back up again sometime this year. After, I want to move on to cleansing balms, because I love the moisture that it gives my skin after getting all the makeup and junk off. I used to be a fun of foaming cleansers, but I find them really drying nowadays.

20190528_162611.jpg

VS Let’s Glow Sheet Mask

I have one last sheet mask from VS. It’s a brightening mask, which I usually use in the morning, so I am waiting for the right time to use this one. I enjoy sheet masks a ton. I usually do one every Saturday night, but sometimes, I’m just way too tired to mask. I try to at least do one every month for a tiny bit of me time.

20190528_162314.jpg

Drunk Elephant Beste No 9 Jelly Cleanser

I was told that this smells like cantaloupe. I haven’t opened it yet, so I have no clue. lol. I plan on using this next after I use up my current cleanser, which isn’t too far away. I really do not need a backstock of any product. I would much rather order a new one when I’m almost done with my current one. I am working towards the goal of having 1 backstock bin for when I do order and add on items to meet the minimum free shipping. This was part of my free birthday gift, so I feel good about having it in backstock. IT’s everything that I deliberately bought that I feel bad about.

20190528_162307.jpg

The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%

I totally forgot that I had this serum in my collection. I don’t feel like I need a serum until I’m 30 and it’ll be an anti-aging one. I am using up all in my collection and not repurchasing until then. I no longer support the brand and just want to use what I have up at this point. This isn’t a serum that you can use everyday either. You can only use it a few times a week, so it will take forever for me to use up.

20190528_162258.jpg

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 10-Minute Exfoliating Facial

This is an exfoliating peel face mask, which is unique in my collection. I am not a fan of physical exfoliation on the skin, but I love chemical exfoliates which are gentler on the skin. I am currently using a peeling gel in the shower, so I would not add this in until I use that one up. This is only meant to be on the skin for 10 minutes at the most, so it is great to apply in the shower once I have conditioner in my hair. I can apply this “mask”, clean my body, and then rinse. I would use this 2 to 3x a week at most, because my skin is on the oilier side, I feel like it can benefit from more frequent sloughing of dead skin cells. If your skin is normal or combo, I would suggest 1 to 2x a week. This is unopened and will stay in backstock until I finish my current peeling gel.

20190528_162251.jpg

The Ordinary Retinol 1%

I totally forgot that I had this. I am actually taking this out of backstock and putting it in my current skincare collection in the bathroom. I put this away during the winter, because it was too drying on my skin. Now, it is getting warmer and summer out. I am pulling it back out to use at night and I am going to try to use it all up this summer. I use this at night. I usually alternate between using a sleeping mask and an oil. Now, I will alternate with this as well at night. Even in the summer, I cannot use this daily and I can only use it 3x a week at most. It has 2/3rds to 1/2 left, so I think I might be able to do it.

20190528_162232.jpg

Roloxin Lift Instant Skin Smoothing Masque

I am decluttering this to my mom to use, because I do not have wrinkles that need filling.

20190528_162154.jpg

MJCARE Sheet Masks Variety

I have 8 more of these sheet masks left that I want to use up. I enjoy wearing sheet masks and I try to do them once every week or so. It’s hard sometimes to try to find the time to mask. I have been reserving them for Saturday nights after a clay mask while doing my homework that is due on Sundays. Sheet masks aren’t a necessary in my skincare routine, but I do enjoy using them. They are very indulgent, but I usually snag them when they are on sale for a dollar or two.

20190528_161246.jpg

ELF Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths

I have three packets in storage and one currently in use. These were $5 for a 2 pack with a total of 40 wipes, which I thought were a good idea. They are moist and effective at taking off makeup and cleaning your face at the end of the night. I sometimes use this in the morning instead of my micellar water. I like to have these one hand for lazy nights when I am too tired to wash my face and do the whole big routine. I won’t need more for quite some time.

20190528_162130.jpg

The Sharing Co Sheet Masks

Again, I have more sheet masks. I love sheet masks though. Seeing all of these is making me kick myself in the butt that I need to mask more often or at least commit to once a week. I cannot wait to use these up and enjoy them.

Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask

I received this in PR and have used about half of the jar. I put it away for now to work on my oldest clay mask first. This is a good mask, but it is very messy. This is one that I reserve for when I know that I’ll be taking a shower to rinse it off. I have a few other clay masks that I need to use up before this one. It gives great results, but it is just a really messy removal process that is a pain in the butt. I am good with masks for a while though. I am glad to have so many to choose from, but my back stock is excessive.

L’Oreal Pure-Clay Mask

Again, another clay mask. This one only has a few uses left in it, so I will probably use this one up next after I use up the one that I am currently using. I really like this mask and find that it reduces oil production for a few days. It is not cruelty free though, so I will not be repurchasing this. My best friend bought me this for my birthday and I really appreciate it. I love this mask and I would accept it again as a gift anytime. I am sure that this will be featured in an empties post somewhere in the near future.

Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask

Another half way used up face mask. This one is a hydration mask that I am received in PR. This is very similar to a sheet mask as its made to hydrate and plump the face. I really enjoy this mask, but it requires rinsing. I would much rather use a sheet mask or a sleeping mask than get another one of these hydration rinse off masks. I will use it up, but I would not purchase a product like this.

Freeman Avocado & Oatmeal Clay Mask

This mask is almost used up as well. I use this 5 minute mask in the shower. Once I use up all my “shower” face products, I would get another Freeman’s 5 minute face masks to keep in my shower to deep clean my face. With the steam and warm water, they penetrate deep, work fast, and I see results. I thoroughly recommend these masks. Ideally, I still want a “shower” mask, a regular clay mask, sleeping mask, and sheet masks in my collection. I currently have too many. I probably have enough to last to the end of this year.

It is surprising to me that I have 21 face masks including sheet and jar masks. This post does not include the two masks that I just got from my best friend for my birthday, but they will be included in my inventory counts spreadsheet. I need to start masking more than once a week. This is the inspiration that I need to enjoy what I have instead of trying to hoard them. I don’t need to. I have a life where I can buy whatever I want within reason. If I use up all my masks, I can buy new ones. I could even buy a $30 one. I’m not gonna restrict myself, but I want to use up what I have. Otherwise, it’s wasteful. I’m not going to go out and buy a nail polish when I have over 40 at home.

Selena

Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum

It should come as no surprise that I have chosen to partner up with Valentia again on one of their amazing serums. This is the third serum that I have tried from them and I have loved every single one of them. This one is no exception. I always use a serum night and day. My skin drinks them up and they actually do something. I hardly use toners, because I don’t think they really work. Using Valentia’s Night Revive Retinol Serum, I saw results in how plump my skin looks and the little bit of acne bumps disappear. Retinol is a great in ingredient for anti-aging, but also for clearing acne.

Here’s what Valentia says about their serum:

Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum – A transformative retinol serum that fights wrinkles and provides hydration, for visibly smoother, rejuvenated skin.

This Retinol Serum Will:
– Diminishes wrinkles
– Stimulates collagen
– Improves skin tone
– Manages breakouts
– Conditions skin

Specially selected ingredients work together to achieve optimum results.

KEY INGREDIENTS:

– Retinol (Vitamin A): Works at the cellular level to stop winkles, manage breakouts, and evens out skin discoloration.

– Vitamin C: Guards skin against environmental free-radicals to prevent premature aging.

– Vitamin E: Provides intense hydration to diminish the drying effects of retinol.

– Squalane: Derived for pure olive oil to soften and condition delicate skin.

The serum sinks right into the skin and feels hydrating. It also feels very light, because the skin just soaks it right up. I am glad that the serum has a dropper instead of a pump. Having a dropper made the process of getting the right amount of serum so easy. The pump made it difficult to get every last drop. I know a bit went to waste, which made me sad. Now, there will be no waste with the dropper. More bang for your buck, since you can use all of it. There is no scent, which I actually prefer, since there are so many scented products these days. I don’t feel overwhelmed with another scented product and I know there is no perfumes to irritate my skin.

Valentia serums are so affordable at 25 to 35 USD (This one is 35) for over 1 fl oz, which is unheard of with other popular Sephora brands. Valentia serums are just as effect, if not more so. I’ve been more impressed with Valentia than my Ole Henrikson serum. Also, message me for a promo code for 20% your purchase of any Valentia product!

Maybe, I’ll get some supplies for my desk as well. Anyways, I’ll be hitting the dollar tree and Walmart for supplies next week I’m supposed to get my books on Thursday!

Valentia Clear Lift Revitalizing Serum

For Valentia Clear Lift Revitalizing Serum

Serum

What it is:

A potent and luxurious serum that supports natural circulation for an all over youthful and revitalized complexion.

Key Ingredients:

Orange hydrosol, aloe vera, witch hazel, botanical hyaluronic acid, plant stem cells, jojoba oil, vitamin E, licorice, argan oil, clementine essential oil, rosehip seed oil, alcohol.

How it feels/smells/looks:

It is slightly yellow and citrusy. It is very light and smooth. It sinks right into the skin. My sink really drinks it in.I notice an immediate brightening of my skin and tightening effect. My skin looks and feels more hydrated, even if it feels slightly sticky. I use this in the morning underneath my moisturizer and I feel like this moisturizes my skin better than my moisturizer. I fully believe that it is worth the $35 USD price tag.

Why I Like It:

I like this serum a lot, but not more than the rose serum by this same brand. I don’t feel like this helps with my acne like the rose serum does. I do feel like it does what it claims though. I do feel like it deeply moisturizes my skin and has plumped it up quite a bit. I like that most of the ingredients are organic and natural. It makes me feel good that I’m putting something with great skin benefits on. I love daily pampering my skin. It shouldn’t have to be one night a week. I usually use this in rotation with the Rose serum to keep my acne in check. Between the hydrating face mask and these serums, my face has never been better. It has gotten dry since giving birth and nursing and I don’t know if it will stay that way. I’m glad I have products for dry skin, because most of my stuff is for oily skin as that is what I had. I’m so happy with Valentia products. There isn’t one I don’t like that I’ve tried. I may not be a fan of all the scents, but the products themselves are truely amazing and one of a kind.

Valentia: Royal Rose Hydrating Serum*

For Valentia Royal Rose Hydrating Serum*

What it is:

A hydrating serum that deeply moisturizes skin, provides antioxidant protection, soothes and nourishes dry skin, smooths skin tone and texture, and boosts skin radiance.

Key Ingredients:

rose, aloe leaf juice, botanical hyaluronic acid, witch hazel, vitamin B3, jojoba oil, Vitamin E, rosehip seed oil, evening primrose oil, bearberry, rose absolute, chamomile extract, lavender extract, mullein, Reishi, gotu kola,

How it feels/smells/looks:

It is a white lotion that sinks quickly into the skin. I use two pumps at night and one pump in the morning to cover my face. I use one pump in the morning, because it sinks in quicker with less product. The two pumps takes about 5 minutes to really sink it. My mornings need to be quick and my evenings can be pampering. This part of both routines. It is both quick and pampering. It smells of Rose and those who love Lush’s Rose Jam will love the scent of this product as well. I am not a fan of the scent, but it vanishes when the product sinks into the skin. It isn’t a lingering scent. Sometimes, I do enjoy the scent, but most times, I just find it too rosy. It feels amazing on the skin. It is very soothing and cool. I feel like it plumps up my skin a bit as well. My skin has been on the normal/dry side lately. I don’t really have oily skin anymore since having the baby. My skin has been drier. This hydrates my dry areas and leaves me with smooth skin.

Why I Love It:

I can see myself buying this when I run out. It is actually a Holy Grail item for me, while my skin is behaving more dry. This could clear up after breast feeding and my skin could go back to being oily. This product has really helped my skin be more normal and not as dry. I’m not oily anymore, so I don’t have that natural radiance anymore. I’ve been using highlighters everyday to give my face a glow. This product makes my face look healthy, but not glowy. This product has also cured the little bit of acne that was creeping up from being too tired to wash my face at times and from hormones. The witch hazel is great for acne and so is rose. I’m really enjoying this product that I have been using for two weeks now. It’s not really expensive at 35 USD, so I will be purchasing once I run out. I don’t want to be without it! And really, other high end products sell their serum for that much or more for a fluid ounce.

A Double Review Special: Hydration Mask & True Glow Eye Cream

For *Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask

What it is:

A face mask boosting collagen production, increasing skin radiance, reducing fine lines, and securing skin moisture.

Key Ingredients:

Japanese green tea, aloe vera, organic rosehip seed oil, silk protein amino acid blend, botanical hylauronic acid, organic sea buckthorn oil, and water. It is 98% natural, suitable for all skin types, cruelty free, alcohol and paraben free, and made in the USA.

How it feels/smells/looks:

The mask has the the color and texture of custard. It feels cool going onto the skin and begins to tingle but not sting. My face was a bit red after removing the mask, but cleared up within a couple of minutes. It smells like elementary school to me: like pencil shavings. The smell actually brings back found memories, so I do not mind the odd smell.

Why I like it:

This face mask is very interesting and different. I have never tried a hydrating face mask before, because I have oily skin and never thought that I needed extra hydration. Since having a baby, my skin has been a bit on the drier side and losing that fresh glow my face always had. I applied this mask on to cover my whole face. This gave my face a jaundice glow while wearing it, completing freaking my dad out at first. I enjoyed the pamper feeling that masks give me and I enjoyed this on at the full 30 minutes recommended. After removing the mask, I did feel that my face looked brighter and softer. I cannot comment on reducing fine lines, but my skin did look instantly better after using. I did find that the next day this did give my skin a small rash. I’m hoping cutting down the time applied to fifteen minutes will allow me to enjoy the mask without the rash. My skin is not sensitive, so I wouldn’t recommend this mask to people with sensitive skin. This mask definitely does make your skin look instantly better and radiant.

For *Valentia True Glow Eye Cream

What it is:

An intensive corrective eye treatment that reduces wrinkles, nourishes and hydrates, tightens eye area, brightens dark circles, and restores radiance.

Key Ingredients:

Astanxanthin, resistem, vitamin C, organic rosehip oil, amica, water, and honeysuckle. It is 98% natural, suitable for all skin types, cruelty free, alcohol and paraben free, and made in the USA.

How it feels/smells/looks:

This cream is orange colored and light weight. It sinks into the skin right away and feels slightly cooling. It smells like oranges as well. I really love the packaging and how expensive the product looks. It is also nice that the bottle is glass and tinted to best preserve all of the good, natural ingredients.

Why I like it:

I have been using this eye cream at night ever since I got this product in the mail. It has a great light orange scent as I apply the product. It sinks right in which allows me to continue onto my facial moisturizer without having to wait for it to sink in. I definitely do feel a tightening effect when I use this product, but only time will tell if it brightens my hereditary dark circles.  I enjoy using this product and will look into trying out more products from Valentia. Twenty-five dollars does not seem too expensive for a quality product that I  enjoy. I would say to be careful when applying this. I got a tiny bit of this cream on my lower lash line and it burned and irritated my eye. It was not a pleasant experience, but as long as you are careful, it shouldn’t irritate.

Amazon Haul

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

I recently teamed up with two different brands to deliver all of you honest reviews on their products. While I was checking those products out with some coupon codes, I decided to pick up a couple of things for Serena. I also recently went bra shopping, so stay on the lookout for another mini haul as well. Without further ado, here’s my little haul and my first impressions of everything that I got!

Greenies Teenie, 130 ct for $21.39 USD

Remember in a recent post I mentioned how these worked so well for Serena’s teeth, but were way too expensive? Well, I could not believe how cheap they were on Amazon! Either Amazon is giving me a great deal or the price of Greenies went way down from the last time that I bought them, which was a couple of years ago. These treats are made for small dogs. It came in a big cardboard box with two resealable bags of treats in it. It is an upgrade from the last time I bough a box and the treats were just loose inside them like other treats. I hope these work just as well as last time. I keep mine in the fridge, so Serena takes extra long chewing them and getting that stubborn plaque off her teeth. She is getting one a day for a month and then, I will go on from there and check back in with all of you on her progress.

*Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask, 4oz for $25 USD

I used a free coupon code provided by the company to redeem this product to review for all of you. Face masks have to be my favorite beauty product to try out. I have had moisturizing sheet masks, but I have never tried a plumping mask before. This mask is supposed to boost collagen production, increase skin radiance, reduce fine lines, and secures skin moisture. My face needs some TLC since having a baby and neglecting my face and needs. I’m just getting back into a facial routine and I will be using this to try to whip my skin back into shape. It does not say how many times a week I can use this product, but since it is a hydrating formula, I would think that I can use it three times a week. I cannot wait to try it tonight! I will be giving a first impressions review sometime this week on all beauty products in this post.

*Valentia True Glow Eye Cream, 1.18 fl oz for $25 USD

These products look so luxe and the boxes are gorgeous with the gold accents. I like that it is in tinted glass with an easy to use pump. I hate dipping my fingers into pot products. I like that it is tinted orange, because I feel like it helps to minimize my dark circles. This eye cream is supposed to reduce wrinkles, nourish and hydrate, tighten the eye area, brighten dark circles, and restore radiance. While I cannot comment on the wrinkles, I look forward to using this eye cream at night, where I can use some thing a bit thicker.

*OZ Naturals Super Youth Eye Gel, 0.5 fl oz for $17.49 USD

Another eye product,  yes, but this is for morning use and the other was for evening. I feel like gels are lighter for day time use and this one even says that you can use it under makeup. It is suppose to eliminate dark circles and puffiness, soothe and soften the eye area, and give dramatically radiant and youthful eyes. I am excited to be trying natural products that is good for my skin and safe to use while breast feeding. This gel is clear and thick, so I feel like it’s going to do a good job. I cannot wait to use it tomorrow!

Buddy’s Paws Digestive Enzymes, 8 oz for $19.70 USD

I bought this for Serena, because I also think that her bad breath issue could be a stomach issue. She battles constipation from swallowing her food instead of chewing it, so this will at least be good for that if it doesn’t do anything for her breath. This product contains prebiotics and probiotics, which is great for the digestive system. It is a powder supplement that I am giving her once a day at 1/8 of a teaspoon, since she only eats 1/2 cup of food a day. I mix it into her 1/4 cup of dry or wet dog food. Her first treatment is tonight, so we shall see!

Well, that is it for my haul! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. If you have tried any of these products, let me know your thoughts on them in the comments section below. Thanks for participating!
